Incredible home-style Vietnamese food - Edit
Delicious food, the owner prepared a simple dipping sauce for the tofu at the table that changed how I will eat tofu for the rest of my life. The restaurant is tucked away but the neighbours downstairs were very kind in pointing me the right way. When I arrived I was the only customer but by the time I finished they had people waiting for my table!

Excelente.

Best Value, unique experience. - Edit
Best food we’ve had in Vietnam, huge amount of food, paid AUD$25 for 5 adults. Great flavour, lots of veggies, tofu. We ordered a few dishes but It seems they just bring you whatever they’ve prepared that night. Staff amazing, one lady speaks a little English. Located upstairs, I think we went through the living quarters of a few families on the ground floor to get there. Don’t miss it!

This restaurant is awsome - Edit
When I walked in this restaurant I was a little tired. When I came out I was hyped as [censored]. The food is really good. Don't order too much, because you get a lot of extra's like soup, a bowl of veggies and they make a fresh dressing at the spot. After finishing dinner you are at the point of rolling instead of walking. Then the best part comes. The owners of the restaurant tells his story wich adds so much more to the experience. He started on the street and now manages to run this restaurant. His dream is to help homeless kids the sameway as he got help in the past. Don't look further and go to this place.

Such a pleasant little place - Edit
You have to wind your way through a little communal hallway to the back and up a tiny staircase to find this small but comfortable restaurant.
Read moreNothing fancy but an authentic Vietnamese eating experience with huge portions. We had the chikn and spring rolls. It was served traditional family style and came with an appetizer, rice, veggies, soup, and a dipping sauce prepared at our table by the proprietor. All of it was quite delicious. We left full and feeling happy.
Pros: Huge delicious portions , Friendly service , Feel good story

Unglaublich 😻 - Edit

The best !!! - Edit
Maybe the best restaurant I have ever visited. If you order a main dish you will get salad, rice, soup and some vegan protein as well. So you will get plenty of food for a very small prize accompanied by a sauce to dip in that is as special as delicious. Everything is fresh and simply amazing. Owner will tell you his story from working in the street to becoming a restaurant owner. Everything is simply amazing. A must-visit in Hanoi.

Truly lion hearted restaurant - Edit
The food was good, very balanced, the owner's story is worth knowing and he is doing an amazing job.
Read moreYou order one dish and you get a large portion of rice, tofu, greens and soup along with the dish.
Herein lies the problem as well, a lot of food gets wasted and its just too much food for a single person. I wish they are able to sort this out.
Pros: Economical, Balanced food, mixture of protein and veggies, Good food options
Cons: One ends up wasting a lot of food, Unfit if a single person visits

Full table of food - Edit
This restaurant deserves all the stars. There is not one single negative thing to say. Eating there was just a mind-blowing experience. Tofu, local greens, rice, and soup come complementary to your ordered meal, so don't order too much. We went for spring rolls and the vegan chicken and in combo with all the free food it was impossible to finish. We gave our best but had to leave some greens and rice. The tofu was literally some of the best tofu I've had in my whole life. The marinade was just perfect. The soup was well seasoned, I loved it. Also the people show you how to eat the food in the right combination.

You get authentic Vietnamese food but finally a little different than the typical morning glory and tofu at other places.

A gem of a hole in the wall in Hanoi (& abundant portions) - Edit
We were not fully expecting the extent of food that would be delivered when we ordered one veg, one protein, and one starter. (As prescribed on the menu.) First came a huge bowl of fresh greens, a bowl of rice, freshly squeezed lime and chili, and tofu with tomatoes. (The owner demonstrated how to eat it all together.)
Read moreThen one after another, more and more plates arrived including what we ordered plus soup. A lot of food for only two people. We had to take some home and surprised ourselves with how much we ate. Probably because it was so good. Everything was delicious and seems to be made with love. A huge table full of plates of food for 245,000. Portions are too big if you ask me but everything was tasty and I would definitely come back when I’m in Hanoi next time.
Getting there: Sign outside is big, follow the indoor alley to the left of the sign and back and up the stairs to the restaurant. (People will help you if you’re turned around most likely.) :)
Food came quickly. Everything was fresh. Definitely recommend … but don’t come alone…bring a friend to share the feast with!
Pros: Huge portions and variety with each order , Quick service, Tasty

Favourite in Hanoi - Edit
We spent 3 nights in Hanoi and this turned out to be our favourite. We were a little confused where to go after seeing the sign, fortunately someone directed us through the passage on the left side then up some stairs to an understated, no thrills eating area where we were greeted by William who showed us to a table. We ordered spring rolls and the vegan chicken. All dishes come served on vegetables and with fried tofu in sauce, mixed leaves and bean sprouts, rice and soup. William then made a chilli, salt and lime dip at the table and showed us the Vietnamese way of combining the flavours. It all tasted so good! At the end of the meal, William gave us a card telling his story from a child on the street to a restaurant owner and how he is trying to help children who are in a similar position to the one he found himself in. If I find myself in Hanoi in future, Katze will be the first place I go to eat

Great food, great cause - Edit
We ordered two things (not exactly sure if we got what we ordered but it’s all vegan and tasty anyway) and ended up with loads of extras including tofu that I think got topped up. The owner was friendly and showed us how to eat the food and was keen for us to read about his story at the end. It’s a very popular place with tourists and I’m not even sure many of them are veggie or vegan! Happy this place exists

Nice concept - Edit
The food is really tasty, the owner is super nice and the concept is what makes this place to deserve 5 stars. He is helping the poor kids in the street to have a better life with the profits of the place. The people working here are super nice and cheerful.
Read moreWhile prices are a bit higher than other places, you get a big amount of extra plates on top of what you order so it’s well worth it!

Go inside the alley and on the second floor! Even if downstairs is empty you’ll see if full upstairs and great atmosphere!
