Just go and promise you’ll go!

Eating here was a wonderful experience. The food is delicious and there are many options. They serve complimentary dishes and the best, and I’ve never experienced this before, but the server (owner?) came right over, demonstrated how to mix the food, and put it right in our mouth with the chop sticks. And he did it to every table. We were cracking up and it was amazing. Food was fast and incredible and at the end they showed us the story of the restaurant which made us cry. This place is perfect. Traditional Vietnamese vegan food in Old Quarter, and i won’t forget this meal. It was wonderful. If you are in Hanoi put this place at the top of your list of places to visit!!

My food highlight in Hanoi

Finding the place wasn’t that easy at first but it’s more than worth it. We were completely stuffed afterwards. You always get some soup, rice and tofu for free. But all the dishes are really cheap. Everything we tried tasted amazing. The owner is really into interacting with his guests, be prepared for that. But for us it just added to the overall experience.

Pros: Price , Variety , The whole experience

The highlight of Hanoi

Amazing food, amazing service. I tried a few different things but the ‘beef’ with pineapple sauce was soooo good. Never tasted anything like this

Pros: Beef, Papaya salad

So much food.

Lucky to be staying next to this place, owners so accommodating and generous in their small street cafe.

Ed ordered loads of food but on top of that they kept brings free side dishes. Highlights were braised tofu, prawn in orange sauce, bbq chicken, papaya salad.

Exceptional food in a homely atmosphere

This was our favourite meal in Hanoi on our last night in the city. Free tofu braised with tomatoes, herbs and rice was just the start! The banana flower salad was fresh, sweet and nutty. The sausage with mushrooms was the perfect umami flavour and the eggplant and garlic was my son's favourite dish. Super lovely family too.

Best food we had in Hanoi

A small vegan restaurant that serves traditional Vietnamese food. You order one main dish but get free starters (soup, rice and tofu in tomatoe sauce). It’s super delicious and authentic, the owner shows how to correctly eat everything and it basically feels like you’ve been invited to someone’s home. Loved everything about it!

Pros: All vegan food , Everyone is super friendly , Free starters

Cons: Nothing

Yes to everything already said below

Not sure what else to add. It almost like you have been invited back to someone's home. We sat at a table with some other travelers and had a good conversation.

Pros: Great food, Community atmosphere , Great people

Cons: A little hard to find

Worth the wait

What an amazing experience and incredible food. It is like eating in a family home with the very best and most delicious food. We waited 5-10 minutes and finished our meal relatively quickly but were not rushed at all. Please do not miss out on this no frills albeit exhilarating dining experience.

Pros: Unreal atmosphere , Delectable food, Great owner

Cons: Not one thing

Great!

The place is not fancy, but you don't really need it with the food that is served here. They even bring you starters (that are almost like mains!) that are on the house. There are a looot of options for vegan 'meat' - pork / chicken / beef alternatives. The vegetable dishes are also very good, prepared in a unique way (we had eggplant with garlic). The owner and the rest of the staff are very welcoming and enthusiastic!

Favourite Vegan/Veggie place in Vietnam

On the last day of travels to Vietnam (13 days) I enjoyed my favourite dishes at this place in Hanoi. We were served and fed complimentary tofu and soup, ordered a garlic squash, vegan beef (onion and chilli) and vegan pork (sweet and sour) - which was the most delicious dish. Staff were nice, vibe was homely and cuisine was traditional but unique. Would recommend anybody go here. Have to say though a little troublesome to find, look for the little alleyways in the street or ask someone nearby

Pros: Vegan protein other than tofu, Waiters/waitresses showed how to eat the food, The sweet and sour pork!

Delicious vegan food

This restaurant is difficult to find as it’s through an alleyway and upstairs.
However once found we ordered the beef with onion carrot and chilli and sweet and sour pork ribs. I’m not normally keen on fake meats but these were some kind of wizardry! Really delicious.
It also came with a free bowl of rice, salad and braised tofu which was equally delicious.

Pros: Tasty , Great value, Lots of choice

Cons: Difficult to find , Uncomfortable stool (I’m old!!😂)

Hidden gem

It is a little difficult to find but worth it. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. If you order one main you get a number of complimentary side dishes including rice, tofu and soup. Go there if you can take some time to enjoy a large quantity of great vegan food!

Extraordinary

The food was so so good. You order your dish, but you get so much more food and when something is empty they just give you more. It’s definitely more in the pricey side, but in my opinion definitely worth it. But you should go there when you are really hungry!

Authentic atmosphere, tasty food, great price

A bit hard to find, but well worth the search.
Very welcoming staff. You order a dish and additionally get a large amount of food for free (rice, soup, tofu with tomato sauce,.....) which is refilled when empty.
Place is quite small and you may have a shared table.
We ordered a few things all off which where tasty.

Owner donates money to children in need.

Definitely worth a visit.

Pros: Great value for money, Large portions, tasty food, Very friendly staff

Cons: Hard to find , Open kitchen, so, clothes may smell of food after

Cannot praise this place enough!

Such a wholesome place and experience!
It felt like you were being welcomed into a family home for lunch. They provide a salad, soup and a protein for free (as their menu says, protein is an essential in a meal so they provide it for free).
The food was light, fresh and delicious and we enjoyed every bite! Highly highly recommend!

Pros: The owners story , The wholesomeness , The food (freebies and everything we ordered)

Extraordinary food!!

We had the vegan chicken with BBQ sauce and the vegan pork ribs with sweet and sour sauce. Especially the pork was really delicious! With every main course, you get unlimited rice, tomato tofu, lettuce and sprouts, and broth with bok choy. Must try when visiting Hanoi😄

Slightly bizarre but amazing

This place is an odd experience but you cannot fault the food.

As other reviewers have said, you get given a free tofu in tomato sauce. And I was also give some kind of green soup as well. Both were delicious.

I ordered the fried chicken in pepper sauce and that was amazing as well.

I found it slightly difficult to find. You need to go along the alley to the left of the Katze sign and up the stairs. The restaurant is on the first floor.

Really friendly staff and a great place to eat.
