So delicious! I love how it feels so ‘family style’ with the lime-chili dipping sauce, leafy greens / herbs, rice, tofu, and soup. The variety was unexpected, but it all went so well together. Good hospitality and great service here!

A lovely, homely experience with generous people and generous portions. The entrance to the restaurant is rather nondescript, with a darkened alleyway leading to a narrow flight of stairs to the left. At the top is a small, simple room containing half a dozen picnic benches and strings of nón lá leaf hats draped from the ceiling.
Read moreWe ordered two dishes, the vegan chicken and vegan beef, and ended up with six or seven different bowls on the table. Alongside any dishes you order from the menu, you receive a bowl of rice, a mound of raw veggies (lettuce, herbs, bean sprouts, banana flower), a clear soup with greens, a tofu and tomato dish, and a spicy citrus dipping sauce made right there in front of you. The owner stood by our table, meticulously slicing and squeezing about a dozen limes into a bowl with sugar and chillies, before grabbing a piece of tofu and some salad with his chopsticks, dipping it into the freshly made lime concoction and feeding it directly into my partner’s mouth. We then watched in amusement as he surprised every subsequent guest with the same treatment.
The food was tasty and felt fresh and light, with a thoughtful flavour combination of umami, chilli and citrus, further complimented by the homely atmosphere of the place. The bustle of the tiny kitchen in the corner of the room, the familiar “ping” of Duolingo as their young daughter learnt English words on a tablet, and the laminated page we were handed before we left, teaching us a bit about the owner’s family and history. You can tell a lot of thought and care goes into what they do here—there’s a reason it was full at 4 in the afternoon!

Can’t say enough about my experience. The food was beyond amazing, service, simplicity….echo the positive comments of so many others before me. Wanted to add that the staff asked if I was vegan and served me only vegan food. No fish sauce for us…only wish I could give the 5 stars they deserve.

Read moreWilliam has a heartwarming story behind his place. You feel welcomed into their home and are served bowl upon bowl of delicious, authentic, vegan Vietnamese food! We paid for two mains and you get four huge sides for free, including some really nice tofu and a herbal tea. You can eat as much as you like as they’ll refill your bowls at no extra cost. They make their special lime sauce for you at your table and show you the which order to dip your food in.
Can’t rate this place highly enough. Very cheap and a lovely experience all round. Go!!!

fantastic food, by far the best we have eaten so far in Vietnam! Ordered two meals and spring rolls but was given soup, rice and some other things (have no idea what but it was delicious). Was all absolutely incredible, love his story too. Highly recommend!!

To be honest, I was hesitant if this place was really good because of all the five star reviews. It made me a little suspicious. Decided on going there anyway and yes, I understand the amazing reviews now! The food is really good, served Vietnam-family-dinner-style. The portions are super generous. The owner has an amazing backstory. That alone is a reason to pop in and talk to him.

Delicious Home-Style Vietnamese Food with Generous Portions - Edit
We were 2 people and ordered a vegetable dish and a tofu dish each, as well as one beer to share. They brought us lots of extras - some soup, a big bowl of rice, fresh veggies and bean sprouts and lime dipping sauce too. The flavors were varied and there was clearly attention to making a balanced meal between proteins, salty, sweet and greens. Make sure you come here when you are very hungry and have stomach space!
