Wide variety of Mexican style foods

Small restaurant offering takeout during coronavirus times. Tons of choices, lots of meat similars. We had Asada diosas (stuffed tortilla reminiscent of pita), Mexica fries, chicken sandwich and a raw warrior bowl. All good. Fun, extensive menu.

Pros: All vegan, Creative menu

Vegan comfort food

My 1st vegan restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. Prices are a bit high but the taste, staff, and helpfulness are well worth the money.

Pros: Delicious bakery foods, comfort food

Cons: Spicy, unhealthy

Best vegan Mac I’ve ever had

This is my favorite vegan spot in Reno. Since becoming vegan, I quickly realized that Reno doesn’t have many fully vegan restaurants, which I prefer to go to so I don’t have to veganize something on a menu. Since trying their Mac & cheese I literally have to buy it at least once a week. Their food is always so delicious I’m never left unsatisfied! I also love supporting a small family owned business and always make sure to leave them a big tip. Our food also always comes out fast. Love this place!

Pros: All vegan menu, Fast comfort food

Cons: Expensive

Eat here. As much as possible. You won’t regret it.

We’ve never been somewhere where we felt so appreciated and the owners/staff were so grateful to have us there. A wonderful family business that’s a must-stop for anyone who eats. This place is light and beautiful. And the food... let’s just say we went three days in a row while in Reno.

Best nachos!

Reno may not have a lot of vegan places but this one makes up for that! It was our last night in town so we went here and it did not disappoint. The space is really well done- very nice and would be great for an event. Owner was great answering questions and was very kind. We had nachos with asada and they were super good and pretty well portioned. Also tried the diosas with Nápoles (cacti) which had such a great flavor! Hibiscus water was also a yummy treat. Will definitely return when we’re back in town!

Pros: Lots of variety , Lots of options for protein/insides , Great space

Cons: Price point seemed high on some items

Deserves more than 5 stars!

My husband and I were taking a road trip through Reno and stopped here for dinner. The food is out of this world. Honestly one of the best meals I've ever had. The menu is large, and the portions will satisfy any appetite.

Thriving Vegan Restaurant

I am so glad we have this all vegan restaurant in our Biggest Little City! I was hesitant to go at first due to their scarce online presence (no menu, no photos). Now that I'm on this app, finding places like this is a lot easier. The mac and cheese with added "bacon" was delicious, def recommend splurging on the up-charge for vegan meat here. The sopes are loaded and definitely don't need extra guac or meat to be flavorful and filling. The staff is very friendly and personable, I'll be making it out again!

Pros: Lots of options in American and Mexican Cuisine

Cons: Customization comes at an up-charge

Great food! Generous portions! Friendly staff!

All vegan eatery with LOTS of variety from burgers to Mac’n Cheeze and excellent Mexican food entrees. Alexis was our server - extremely attentive and considerate. Clean. Paper plates and plastic flatware. A bit pricey - dinner for four added up quickly.
Food was 5 ⭐️

Vegan Treasure

What it lacks in atmosphere and charm, it makes up for in taste. Hubs had the Doro del queso (sp) which was out of this world. I had grilled Chickn sandwich with really good fries. Mac and cheese was just so so. I wish we weren't leaving for home tomorrow. I'd love to go back and try more goodies. One of the very few totally vegan restaurants I've been to. I could order ANYTHING off the menu! What a concept!

Pros: Only vegan options!

Cons: A bit pricey but worth it

Amazing Vegan Food in Reno

My fiancé and I were surprised to see a Mexican-inspired vegan restaurant in Reno, so of course we had to check it out. We were surprised at how empty and sparsely decorated the place was, but were pleasantly surprised by the graciousness of the family who ran the place. It is run by two brothers and their mother, all who were incredibly welcoming. The mother cooked our meals and we wish she could come with us on our travels, the food was so good! The biggest thing holding me back from giving them 5 stars is the lack of a full bar (we would have loved a margarita with our meals), and the price-point being a bit high. Definitely check it out if you are in Reno, the food will not disappoint!

Pros: all vegan menu, incredible hospitality, delicious food

Cons: no beer or margaritas, lack of ambiance, expensive

Awesome, friendly, yummy food!

Stopped in here for a late lunch and am so happy we did. We had the mac burger, crispy chikn sandwich and both were delicious. It was hard to pick from the menu - mostly burgers and sandwiches though. Super friendly staff /owners.

Great vibe great food

I felt right at home here. Alexis was super friendly and accommodating. Great service and they are so committed to veganism. Mexica is pronounced meh-SHE-ca and originates in their traditional Mexican cultural interests. Have the homemade cheesecake. Neither it nor the horchata were over sweetened. What an oasis!

Pros: All vegan, Lovely decor, Clean, spacious well-decorated restrooms

Cons: $$ but worth it

Best in Reno: delicious, friendly, and filling

I enjoyed two meals at House of Mexica, and both were great. My favorite was the chimichanga., which is one of the best I've had anywhere. The sopes were good, though for my taste they needed more salt.

Don't miss the (vegan) horchata.

Portions are generous and service is exceptionally warm and friendly, making me feel right at home.

Highly recommended! Enjoy!

Spicy? Wish I could leave negative stars

This is honestly some of the worst food I’ve ever tried as a vegan. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING about this food tasted Hispanic. When asked if they could bring our some kind of spice... literally anything to give the already bland Denny’s Tasting food some kind of taste, the (very kind—I will admit) waiter said... ‘uh, we do have black pepper? UM? No red pepper? No cholulua? No salsa? wtf about that says: mexica? I would never, ever recommend this place to anyone. $17 for a completely tasteless burger made out of like a smiths style veggie patty, [censored] white Sarah Lee buns, and I am pretty sure they weren’t even descent enough to give us daiya cheese... I think it was that horrifying almond cheese brand, and soggy French fries that I swear to you did not even have salt on them.

My favorite moment was when the waiter said: “so how was everything?”
I said: “um. Ok.”
Waiter: “sorry we didn’t have any spice. You must like things pretty spicy?”
Me: “no, I mean, just ANY spice would be nice.”
Waiter: “we made some things spicy once but people like me said it was too hot.”

K.....? So..... just have SOME OPTIONS to put hot sauce or spice or salt or literally any flavor at all on my $17 burger.
