Gem in Reno - Edit
Delicious all vegan Mexican fare. 'Meat subs include nopales, hibiscus, mushroom walnut. Refreshing to see options beyond the mass produced meats popular in a lot of places. Don't skip it.

Soooo good! - Edit
I had the burrito with carne asada and the animal fries. Both were absolutely delicious. Like really amazing! Yes, it’s a little on the pricey side but for the quality and amount of food it’s 100% worth it. And the people working there were super nice.

Tasty but very overpriced - Edit
Tacos with mushroom walnut meat were fairly delicious but tiny and i find it a bit frustrating you can only pick one protein, and adding a tiny portion(a few spoonfuls each) of rice and beans cost 6$! Shame on me for not asking for prices ahead of time I guess. It sort of feels like you're being overcharged to pay what is I'm sure the high rent of the space and lack of customers. So walked out the door after paying 35$ for a meal and drinks that was maybe half of the amount of food that a 12$ chipotle burrito would have been. I would not go back unless it was the only option.

Cons: Overpriced tiny portions, 6$ for tiny side of rice and beans, Can't select multiple proteins

Am I Too Critical? - Edit
There’s a lot to love about this place and maybe I need to try it again. There were just a few holes in my experience to give it the best rating.
Read moreFirst off all I’d like to say the service is great and it looks really cool in here. There’s obviously a lot of love in the creation of this place. I love the options and the kombucha I got is delicious. However, the other drinks we got came in plastic cups. I mean, plastic cups aren’t the WORST or anything but they are wasteful. When you’re paying big time vegan restaurant money then we should be getting real cups.
That’s another point is the prices are spicy. And if your food isn’t spicy enough they don’t have any hot sauce. I’ve never been to another Mexican restaurant without hot sauce available. Most Mexican restaurants have 2-4 sauces! Buuuut the food itself was pretty flavorful. In fact, the crust on my chimichanga was perfect and flaky. But for the price I’d expect a bit more guac on it.
Do you see how I just keep typing “but”. That’s my feeling about this place. It’s actually very close to being perfect but it’s not actually that close. Hahaha does that even make sense?
Anyways, I would totally try this place again and you should totally try it too. I think I’m just being too critical.
Pros: It’s All Vegan!, Kombucha, Service
Cons: Pricey , No Hot Sauce, BUT

I felt the same way. I wanted to love it as one of the only fully vegan restaurants in Reno, but I found it to be overpriced, the food was bland, and I was given plastic utensils to eat with (and I think everything was served in disposable trays). At their prices, I want real dinnerware and forks and more flavorful, amazing food. I will try it again to see if anything has changed as it's been a couple of years since I've been there.

Walked over from Peppermill, and enjoyed a wonderful dinner here. I got the burrito walnut/mushroom, and my husband (non-vegan) got sopes with al pastor.

Amazing - Edit
The al pastor burrito was one of the best I've ever had and I really can't wait to try everything else on the menu. My non-vegan boyfriend had the special of the day and raved about how good those "fish" tacos were. The woman who served us, who I believe is the owner and head chef, was just lovely. Overall one of the best vegan restaurants we've been to and we'll for sure be back.

I am only sorry I did not try this place sooner. The chimichanga with asada was perfect. The sauces were great on the crunchy tortilla. Fairly certain my eyes rolled back into my head. Also ordered the horchata, which was a smooth texture.

Comida fabulosa! - Edit
Took my skeptical omnivore mom out to lunch and she absolutely loved the mushroom based tacos. She didn’t know what to order so got the same thing I did and the delicious food transported me back to memories of great street tacos in Baja, but these treats were 100% plant based. Also, I need to rave about the customer service. The gentleman handling front of the house was engaging, polite and just the right amount of attentive. I’ll be going back to this lovely restaurant soon!

Delicious Mexican cuisine! - Edit
We came at a slow time after the lunch rush so we got a table right away. We got the chimichanga and the diosas, both with the pastor. The pastor has such a wonderful pineapple flavor! But there are several other options if you don’t want pastor, there is an asada and cactus and others!

Definitely worth the visit.
I heard that previously they used all plastic utensils but we were served on plates and steel utensils on our visit.

Must visit! - Edit
Everything was so delicious, freshly made, and flavorful. Can't believe its fully vegan! Everything down to the rice and beans and horchata tasted like it had been made from scratch with perfect spices. We had nachos with asada, diosas (very tasty, fried corn masa circles sandwiching refried beans, asada, sour cream, veggies), horchata (very refreshing, not too sweet).

Meh Food, Bad Service - Edit
If you’re from California or Las Vegas, this food will probably be very meh or disappointing compared to vegan mexican food there. I would have given this 3 stars if the service wasn’t so bad.
Read moreI sat outside of the restaurant because I had my dog with me and the lady serving me made a disgusted, horrified face when I gave the plastic cup of water she served me to my dog. It’s the middle of summer and it’s hot so I figured no problem to give a plastic cup of water to my dog. She then said she had dog water bowls for dogs. I’m there thinking, “why didn’t you give us that in the first place if you didn’t want me giving this plastic cup of water to my dog?”
Secondly, she tied her shoes on the chair next to me. She literally put her foot up on the chair right next to me to tie her shoes. A waiter putting the bottom of their shoe on a chair where customers sit? I was appalled… that’s when I knew I was never coming back.
Anyways, I guess this food just barely passes for Reno. May be better off going to an omni restaurant with vegan options.

Overpriced & underwhelmed - Edit
I was super excited to try this all vegan Mexican spot in Reno, but was pretty disappointed. I ordered the nachos and horchata to drink. The nachos were nothing special and a steep $17 for a very small portion. The horchata was bland and watered down. The employee I met was very welcoming and friendly, and it was a nice, calm vibe inside. I’d give this place another try with a different menu item.
