Superlatives fail me! - Edit
I vaguely remember sushi from my pre-vegan past. The food here blows that memory out of the water. Delicious textures, tastes and such wonderful variety. We ordered two plates (18 rolls) each and had to work hard to find room for a shared delicious cheesecake.

I went with my family to enjoy this restaurant and although 2 of my family members were not vegan, they enjoyed this place and were surprised by the taste and quality of the sushi rolls.

Food was delicious and staff amicable and helpful. Food was served quickly and looked appetising. It may be a bit more on the expensive side if you are really hungry but most sushi is. I will definitely be coming back to check out the rest of the menu.

The spicy chicken bao is so awful! Dry bread with dry “chicken” nugget with a super sweet and super hot chili sauce. I cannot see how somebody could approve such a dish!

Really enjoyed our food here - particularly the impossible beef dumplings! Service was very good and very reasonable pricing with the lunch deal (2 dishes for 15).

Good sushi spot in manhatten! Everything was good, the lunch combo is a good deal honestly. We got 3 rolls, a side, and 2 desserts. tbh the sushi wasn't AMAZING but it was very good, I think I'm just a bit spoiled with vegan sushi where I live. I will say the desserts tasted a bit healthy (especially the cookie).

Convincing my boyfriend to try this place was not the easiest, but I am so glad he agreed & so is he. He is gluten free and they were very accommodating. Everything was super yummy and fresh! We walked here from MSG to grab dinner before a concert and it was perfect. Food came out quickly and steadily. Meaning we had some food within a few minutes. Once we finished that more came out. And again once that was gone the rest came out. This flow was super nice as the tables are not that large. We shared everything and it completely satisfied my craving for sushi. This will be a spot we return to for sure. Also, they don’t serve soda but their juices are divine!!!!

Easy Vegan Sushi - Edit
Great concept - vegan sushi at reasonable prices. The steamed Ginger Beef dumplings offered a spicy ginger edge. The Rainbow roll and Spicy Jackfruit roll are beautiful to look at and tasty.
Read moreThe spicy tuna roll also presents beautifully and is delicious. Great to see Bao buns on the menu! The fried Chick’n Bao was good, swapping spice for flavor.
To top it off with the Black Sesame Avocado Cookie was a delight. The ice cream was phenomenal, the cookie was a tad bit less so, more cake like. It was still worth it.
Overall, Beyond Sushi does an excellent job at what it targets to do - it is not one of the best vegan sushi restaurants in the world (see my Honolulu Sushi review), but it offers excellent inexpensive vegan sushi.

Best vegan food I had in NYC! - Edit
Beyond Sushi was easy to find, the ambience inside was a calm and quiet respite from the busy Times Square exterior, and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the Nutty Buddy wrap and it was incredibly flavourful. I also got the the cheesecake and it was probably one of the best - if not THE best - vegan cheesecake I've had in 12 years. The staff was also great - very friendly and attentive but not overly so. Great dining experience! I wish they would put one in Denver!
