Amazing spot !

I suggest you try everything in their menu, but to start try the chicken parmigiana sandwich with fries. That’s the first dish that got me hooked ! Also the P.O. boy shrimp sandwich is a amazing ! You get what you pay for, lots of food and great portion of ties with each burger. They also got meals and Sunday brunch. Mimosas and drinks also available which is great if you’re celebrating.

Pros: Lots of options, Serve liquor , Fast service

Incredible buffalo wings!

I came here for dinner the other night with my partner and we were blown away by the seitan buffalo wings - they were so good! I can’t recommend them enough. The other items on the menu we had (shrimp po’ boy and tacos) were also very good and the service was exceptional. Highly recommended!

A cosy surprise that is tasty 😋

Found through Happy Cow and the pictures looked good. However, the pics do not do the food justice... walking in you are welcomed to smiling staff, a relaxed attitude with impeccable service and a warm environment being enjoyed by a full room of very happy people.
Having eaten the buffalo wings for starter I can see why!
By far the best buffalo wings I have ever had. (Including the real thing). I followed it with the Shrimp Po’boy and it was good. Although I found myself wishing I had more wings to add in there too!
I think a new benchmark has been set for me.

Pros: BEST BUFFALO WINGS EVER!, Awesome tunes , Cosy atmosphere

Cons: Pricey but worth it, A little dark but atmospheric, No non-alcoholic beer

Great foods and awesone atmosphere!!

First visit to Urban Vegan Kitchen on Carmine Street in the West Village last night and we'll definitely be going back. Very cool setting with great music and friendly, helpful staff. Was a bit crowded as it was a Saturday night but they never rushed us. There's seating downstairs for groups but upstairs seems more fun and has the buzz. The menu offers "Smalls" and "Bigs" so we shared a bunch of things. Started with Chili fries, Mexican Steet Corn and a Garlicky Broccoli. Loved everything. The Chili fries were the best choice. Broccoli was delicious as was the corn. Just felt the portion of the corn was too small for the price but was very tasty (I know that's picky but was the only negative). Corn was really tasty but not enough for the $7 price. Then we're shared Seitan & Gravy and a Shrimp Po'boy. Both were excellent but I think I enjoyed the Po'boy a little more. Would order both again. We'll definitely go back as the Mac n cheese and the Ch'kun and waffles looked delicious too.

Pros: Lots of great choices, great vibe, good service

Every dish was incredible

My two non-vegan friends were gracious enough to agree to go to an all vegan restaurant with me. We chose UVK. It was a Tuesday night. We sat at the bar and were served by the best bartender ever. Fresh drinks with fresh ingredients and the best attitude ever. DJ Pasquale was next to the bar spinning the best tunes I’ve heard in quite some time.

Now the food...

Every dish we ordered was phenomenal. One of the things I have missed most since going Vegan is buffalo wings. UVK “wings” were awesome. If I could get these regularly, I would never miss traditional wings again. The Chickn and Waffles were ridiculously good . The “shrimp” Po-boy was amazing. I was so stuffed, I wasn’t going to try the taco, since hey, I’ve had vegan tacos before. Holy cow, the taco was also ridiculous.

I’m considering relocating to across the street from this place. Go there now!

Pros: Best vegan comfort food I’ve had, Large amount of great options, Bartender/DJ/Vibe of the place

Cons: I don’t live closer to the place

It’s okay

I came here for an early dinner and beat the dinner rush. The service here could have been a little bit better, as the server took a really long time to give us water and then finally take our order despite the fact that there wasn’t that many tables.

At this place we got the grilled cheese and their chicken and waffles. I don’t understand why the grilled cheese came in a bread that was hard to chew. I’ve had better vegan grilled cheese at other places for cheaper. Their chicken and waffles though were amazing. The chicken was cooked just right and the waffle was soft. Paired with the syrup it just perfect.

Overall I felt that the place is slightly overpriced, because the portions weren’t too big for the price you are paying. The grilled cheese was nothing special, but do give this place a try if you are craving for some vegan chicken and waffles. The service seems to be a hit or miss, so overall I probably wouldn’t return.

Pros: Decent seating area

Cons: Slightly expensive , Service was meh

Disappointing...

Maybe we came here on a bad day, as most of the other reviews lavish praise on this place. The food we were served was greasy (and I mean crrrrrazy greasy, like they were trying to copy a bad diner) and the fries were absolutely pickled in salt. Sure, it's a super-funky venue, the staff are incredibly nice and the music is fun.. our server took time out from painting a mural on the wall to show us to our seats, very boho... But then we were handed a BLT and a Vegan 'Beef' Burger, both of which appeared to have been sprayed with chip-fat, and servings of french fries which were layered in salt. Like I say, maybe the chef was hungover or something, but for the prices they charge here they'll need to do a lot better than that.

Pros: 'funky' , friendly staff

Cons: awful food, I mean really awful food.

Love this place!

Came in for brunch with my omni friends. They have something for everyone. “Chicken” and waffles were on point. Buffalo seitan impressed the nonvegans in the group. Looks like they do a lot of presentations on veganism which was cool to see.

Pros: Excellent options, Great for brunch

Worth the price

Food was incredible. Me and a friend split the chicken & waffles along with chili fries and Mac and cheese and we couldn’t finish everything. Good portions but a little pricey, although I think it’s worth it

Every dish is great

I've yet to have a bad meal here. I've had the shrimp po boy, mac and cheese, breakfast sandwich, chicken and waffles, fried okra, and BLT. All of the dishes are messy and you'll have sticky hands after eating there... and that's a very good thing.

Awesome food, fun atmosphere.

So, let me start by saying the food and service was fabulous and the atmosphere was great. It is, however, a bit pricey for the sizes of the portions. The hush puppies were delicious, as was the jackfruit quesadilla. While the Mac and cheese was good, I have had better. Loved the Mississippi mud pie and seasonal blueberry pie. My son devoured his brownie all the way before I could take a bite but, he said it was AMAZING!! I will definitely go back and try more! It was part of the Blossom Group but, recently switched owners. The seating downstairs is a bit dimly lit for my liking and there was not a clear point of egress from downstairs, which concerned me if there was a fire.

Pros: Creative menu, Nice staff , Flavorful food

Cons: Pricey for the portions , Not a clear 2nd fire exit

Best Vegan Food in NYC

I LOVE the vegan food in NYC. I had a BLT here that was so phenomenal I couldn’t stop eating it long enough to get a photo. Dessert was also great. It appears to be staffed by the owner, so service isn’t always super fast, but the food is incredible.

Pros: Variety, Lots of seating, Public restrooms

Tasted Good

This place had great atmosphere. It was fancy but not too fancy. I had the Chick'un Avocado Ranch Salad. I subbed out the fried seitan for the buffalo seitan for $2 (total price- $21). The prices were steeper than I expected for the portions but I might just be asking too much. My partner got the Country Fried Seitan ($22). It was also smaller than expected. The flavors weren't great enough for the value. But we were in a more expensive part of town I think. I took a star away because my meal was severely missing flavor and because of small portions. It wasn't until I left that I realized I never got any avocado. Still this was my first and I would definitely go back and try more things. The prices weren't that surprising compared to other places.

Pros: nice place, lots of seating, good entree options

Cons: expensive, don't go if really hungry

Great food

So far, this is my favorite of the Blossom-group restaurants. The food (and I’m all about the food) is inventive with a healthy twist (not too oily or salty). The dining experience is super casual, which can be nice, but has its limits. For example: my sparkling wine was served in a water glass, apparently because they do not possess the appropriate barware. There was a DJ (I’m guessing that is the term for the person standing in front of 2 laptops and wearing headphones) so the noice level did not allow for comfortable conversation. That said, if you want great vegan food in a lively spot - this is a great choice. Staff were attentive and friendly.

Pros: 100% vegan , Great tasting food, Friendly staff

Cons: Loud music
