such a good find!! we got the bangin' blt with tempeh bacon and housemade bread, and it was SO freaking good. my fiancée got the mac n' cheese with housemade cashew cheese sauce, and we both loved it. everything was seriously on point, the food was impeccable and the service was great too. definitely a place i’d happily go back to!

Plenty of indoor seating. The restaurant felt clean and well maintained, the staff were really helpful and polite.
The food is delicious. I got the Golden Era Chick-un and waffles. Huge vegan waffle with 4 pieces of fried seitan, a fresh kale salad, and maple syrup. Nostalgic flavors and all vegan. I would definitely come here again. I want to try the tofu scramble next time I'm here!

The food is outstanding — whether it’s the appetizers, main courses, or desserts. Absolutely delicious. The non-alcoholic cocktails are excellent, too. And the service is attentive, charming, and approachable without being intrusive. An absolute must whenever we visit New York.

Best vegan restaurant in NYC - Edit
We visit Manhattan often and always try new vegan restaurants when we're here. We've tried so many delicious places but this is our very favorite. Our favorites were the Korean bbq wings (great texture, delicious sauces) and the chicken and waffles (the "chicken" was amazing but OMG the waffle! Best I've EVER had). The staff were wonderful too - so kind and helpful. Five stars all-around!

I do love a local vegan restaurant where it’s evident the owners are also the employees and the chefs. The food was delicious, the other patrons at the time I went seem to be ‘regulars’ and had an obvious rapport and showed a great sense of community and kindness.

This was the best place we found for breakfast on this trip. Today is our last day and we will be returning again. The French toast and BLT were equally as delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful... Highly recommend to anyone visiting 👌🏼

I was hungry (and cold) and walking to an appointment, hoping to find somewhere to stop along the way with something on the menu that I could eat, and I literally almost walleyed past this place, when I noticed it was a vegan restaurant. So I popped inside. I decided on the BLT and it was delicious. I was son hungry that I forgot to take a photo, but I’ll definitely back the next time I’m in the area!

We ordered the GF carrots, GF mushrooms and cauliflower, a GF lasagna special and the GF BLT.
Read moreFried mushrooms were very rubbery and over cooked, some not even edible but the cauliflower and carrots were very good. The lasagna was lovely to look at but the rice pasta was terribly overcooked, turning the plate into a big pile of mush, albeit with good flavor. The BLT came on very thick, cake-like “white-bread” that simply was like tasteless dough, ruining the sandwich. There was also not enough tempeh bacon to make a difference. We took nothing home between the two of us. Cost was over $121.00 bucks without the tip.

I got the chick’n pot pie and the flavors were fine but the texture of the chick’n was unpleasant. Also got the chili fries and they were not worth the money. I won’t avoid but I won’t go out of my way to eat here.

Urban vegan kitchen is a fantastic joint. Great seating for a date, they’re also super efficient at serving you. Their food is incredible and their waiters are very attentive and helpful. I went back the same day because it was so good. Also conveniently located pretty close to the train station, so it’s a great place to go before leaving the city.
