Delicious spicy ramen - Edit
I got the "gekka" dandan spicy noodles and loved it. I loved all the surprising flavors and textures from the nuts, lotus root, goji berries, and soy meat to the dumplings and noodles. I added extra shichimi and the Japanese pepper from their spices on the table for a little more kick. I also ordered the okara and thought they were a tasty take on the potato ones, just wish it came with sauce, but they tasted great dipped in the ramen broth.

Great food, quick service, friendly staff! - Edit
After struggling to find some consistent vegan options in Hakone and Nagoya we were so happy to dine here our first night in Kyoto. We went big! Shumai, Gyoza, ramen, matcha ice cream, and a delicious iced cocktail! We loved it- great flavors and even though there was a short wait, the staff was quick to seat us and were very friendly.

Good not great - Edit
I liked the ramen but I’ve also had better for a smaller price. I tried two of their cookies too: chocolate and strawberry, and they were tasty!

Great experience - Edit
The food was so good that I went two days in a row. There is usually a queue to enter but I didnt have to wait more than 20min.

The only thing is that is a bit more pricey than vegan ramen in other restaurants.

Friendly staff, yummy gyoza - Edit
I tried the hana ramen and the gyoza. The gyoza is some of the best I’ve had in Japan. The ramen as served is a bit bland, but I believe that is intentional—there are several spices available at the tables so you can customize the food to your personal taste.

Delicious and creamy Ramen - Edit
I went there at around 7:30 pm at an Friday and got a seat right away. Got the "Hana" Ramen which is topped with a lot of veggies.
Read moreThe broth is creamy but not heavy, the noodles are slippery and soft (in a good way) and the whole thing was just really delicious.
It is not the cheapest Ramen you can get, but the quality and the size are really good so I can't complain.
There are a vew spices and sesame seeds on the table free to use.
I also got their Korokke whick was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Also very nice addition.
The staff were also really nice and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very positive and relaxed.
All in all it was a very good meal and am definitely going to go there again!
Went again and got the September special cold ramen and was disappointed! There was not much broth, a lot of ice cubes (to keep everything cool but the amount of broth was just way too little), a lot of tomato but only like 5 small pieces of avocado and a bit of pineapple. The fried tofu is not seasoned and looks familiarly like cheep supermarket ones. The broth didn't taste as good as it did before and the portion was all in all smaller than the cheaper 'Hana'.
Very sad to have spend a bit more that 2300¥ on that!
The dessert box called Kyoto Shojin Petit Four containes 15 miniature sweets. They are all of different textures and materials and are absolutely delicious and beautiful. It isn't cheap at 4500¥ but definitely worth it!

Ok but... - Edit

Great Appetizers - Edit
The gyozas and potato croquettes were absolutely amazing.
Read moreThe dandan noodles were a little bit bland, but after thoroughly mixing and eating some of the toppings the flavour was more intense.
The desserts again were excellent! The brulee especially.
It is fairly pricey (tripple $$$), but ultimately worth it: we paid 12800 Yen for two people for a cocktail, a starter, a main and a desert per person. Without the cocktails, it would have been 9500.
Pros: Great taste, Portion size, Fast service

One of the best vegan meals I’ve had in Japan. They’re vegan and gluten free. The gyoza was just outstanding, what an umami! Their Dandan Ranes was super delicious and also the Matcha ice cream was fresh and creamy.

Cute restaurant/airbnb/laundromat - Edit
On our rounds of Kyoto's temples, we stopped here for lunch, and there was a lot of choice! Albeit some items were unavailable and others a bit expensive, it was delicious and cozy. They know that a lot of their customers come from Happy Cow and are very accommodating to (and inquisitive about) all allergies/aversions

The ramen was delicious ! The gyozas were also amazing. The drinks were overpriced though. Plus it is located in a shabby building, the laundry is visible so it really decreases the enjoyment of the experience …

Best Ramen - Edit
Title says it all. Of the two visits to Kyoto I was aware of this place, I managed to go an insane amount of times. Twice in one day, dinner for multiple days in a row, you name it. It isn’t a traditional ramen flavor, but that’s part of what I makes it so incredible. I could go on forever about this place, try it if you have the chance. For your first time if it’s within your budget get the dandan ramen with the rice and vegan cheese for after you finish your noodles. Croquettes are great as well. All gluten free. Sometimes there is a wait so go during less busy meal times if you can. Enjoy!

The creamy soy milk ramen were good! I love that they come with steamed gyoza inside! The yakuzen and veggie combi is questionable tho.

Decent ramen, a bit expensive - Edit
We tried soy milk ramen with soy sauce (~2,100 yen) and Dan Dan ramen (~2,300 yen). Note that much of the menu was a lot more expensive (items in 3,000 yen range). Dan Dan ramen was very flavourful and Soy milk soy sauce ramen was good. Both had 2 really tasty dumplings inside and other interesting toppings . Coming from Canada where there is lots of good vegan ramen, this didn’t blow my mind. But it was a good meal. Note that the shop seats about 15 people at once. We had to wait about 30 min for a table at 7:30 pm on a weekday during golden week
