Satisfied the ramen craving

Nothing mind-blowing but reasonably priced and good portions. The broth was pretty bland but it was nice to be able to spice it how you liked at the table. #Veganuary

The best ramen in the world

I came here because I saw this place voted as one of the top ramen dishes in the world on Happy Cow. It did not disappoint. I came here twice. The first time I got the Hana ramen because I was worried about the spice. The next time I got the dandan and it was unreal. It actually wasn’t that spicy. I added some additional spices to it and I wouldn’t say that I have a high spice tolerance. They also have cakes in a can from the vending machine!! It’s a great place for solo diners as well.

Is that cherry blossom matcha the “broth” for the ramen?

The cherry blossom match is a crem brulee dessert! The broth is soy milk

Soy milk broth ramen, I’ve heard of such a thing. I’d love to try that someday. Thanks for the info!

Sooo yummy!!!

Loved everything here! To start we had the Soy pulp creamy croquettes which tasted like buttery mashed potatoes. It wasn’t heavily fried and had a nice, thin but crispy coating. Next, we had the steamed gyoza stuffed with citrusy veggies and cabbage. The dipping sauce was also soy-citrus flavored. If no one was around, I would have slurped it up! Next, we had the steamed soy meat dumplings (we were hungry). These were also delicious and came with the same yummy dipping sauce. Finally, we both had the soy milk dandan noodle ramen. My word, this was the most flavorful ramen with lots and lots of veggie toppings, gyoza, tofu, etc. For those who are afraid of heat, it was not too spicy and wished I had asked for extra chili oil (I like a little heat) Overall, everything was so dang good!!! My non-vegan husband loved it. Service was great. Would highly recommend!!! 😋 #Veganuary

Pros: Cute atmosphere, Didn’t have to wait long for food to come out, Great service

A Truly Amazing Restaurant

They made one of the best—and most filling—meals I’ve ever had! I had some dumplings, a creamy ramen dish, a rice and vegan cheese dish, and a crème brûlée (all vegan!!), and I was quite impressed by the depth of flavor in all the food, but especially the ramen. The rice and vegan cheese dish had a really unique smoky flavor to it also. This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in all of Japan—if you are vegan and/or unable to eat gluten, or even if neither of those apply to you, you should totally check this restaurant out!!

Pros: Amazing and rich food, Very kind and passionate staff, Great vibe

Worth the wait - very good ramen

You will likely need to wait outside and put your name on a list, but once in you'll see why this is a magnet for vegan ramen fans. Very filling and flavourful. #Veganuary

Pros: Great flavour, Good service

A new favourite of mine

Absolutely adored the food here. The ramen was flavourful, creamy and tasty. We had the croquettes as a side which complimented the meal nicely. On the table, there is a box with sansho, shichimi, cumin, curry powder and sesame seeds for you to adjust the flavour to your own wishes. The inside decorations are lovely and the staff are extremely friendly. Will be coming back when next in Kyoto.

Looked good

It was very busy at 6pm, just got a cookie to go and they were great (type is hard, dry, sugar cookie like!) I would go back just for the cookie

Vegan-y and creamy goodness!

We came along just before 5pm on a Friday and walked straight in! I appreciated the smaller menu because it narrowed down the options for me. I've never really had ramen before because it's so difficult to find veggie friendly ones - but my partner, who eats meat, loved it...and so did I! The hit of vegetables was very welcome 🙏

Pros: Mobile ordering from your seat, Delicious options of sides, Good selection of soft drinks and alcohol

Cons: Card machine was broken so we had to find an ATM!

Not to our taste

There was a long queue, and the food was very expensive and not really that delicious. I don’t find milk broth ramen that flavourful. Might be personal opinion.

Overall Good

They have a wide selection of vegan items. The ramen was ok. I prefer more flavor, spicer, and hotter temperature. There are powdered spices on the table that help it marginally.

Their desert option help to bump up the review from fair to very good.

Not worth it

In my opinion, the ramen was really lacking flavors. Even by adding some of the spices available on the table it wasn't great. The prices are really expensive, and as the restaurant is small we had to wait more than half an hour to get in.

Lovely- a must visit

I went this evening and it was so refreshing to meet so many like-minded, friendly vegans. The food was delicious, I really enjoyed the ramen, chocolate crème brûlée and rose plum wine. The absolute winner though is the cake vending machine 😍 while there was a bit of a queue it moved quickly (I waited no more than 25 minutes and got to speak to some lovely people during that time)

Good but not great

The soy milk ramen is good but there is definitely better. The dumplings are ok.
The shop is really small and you probably will have to wait a while to get seated.
But not that many other options in Gion!

Tasty 🍜

The location of the venue and limited seating mean long queues and wait time. We waited for at least an hour and I was pretty hungry by the time we got to our table.

My hunger might have sharpened my appetite, as I’m not usually a fan of ramen, yet I found it quite enjoyable here. The matcha ice cream was also very tasty.

Convenient location for all vegan food in Gion

I'm generally not a fan of soy milk ramen, but this place was a pretty good option in Gion, especially since there aren't a lot of options in the area for dinner around 6-8pm. We didn't have to wait too long to be seated and the food came out in a reasonable time. The spicy oil sauce didn't add a whole lot of flavor for ¥300, and the shumai dumplings were just OK.
We enjoyed the noodles and soy milk broth, as well as the various toppings. The Sichuan pickles were good too! We had the Yuzu creme brulee for dessert and it was a nice finish to our hearty meal.
Would recommend Towzen for a more flavorful vegan soymilk ramen, but that restaurant is in a slightly more inconvenient location in Kyoto.

Pros: Good location, All vegan options

Cons: Bit pricey for what you get, "Spicy" chili oil is rather mild

One of the best vegan ramens in Kyoto

I absolutely love this place. Their soy milk ramen is one of the best vegan ramens I have ever hade. That is why I ate here 4 times during my stay in Kyoto. It tends to get really busy, especially during dinner time, so be ready to queue. It's definitely worth the wait, though.

Very tasty but pricy

The place gets crowded really easily so expect to be waiting. But at least they have some chairs & benches to wait on. The food was great and they had many good looking options. I had the ramen and my partner had two side dishes. The ramen is a really big portion size. But still the meal was quite expensive. I would still recommend going.
If you fill out a survey you get a pudding for free.
And outside of the restaurant is a vending machine where you can get the desserts from the restaurant.

Pros: Good Ramen, Dessert vending machine

Cons: Expensive

Molto buono
