So much more than words can transmit

One of the ultimate stand out vegan places I’ve ever been to in my life. The three of us had their famous £22 Sunday Roast extravaganza each selecting a different meat (roast chicken, lamb and turkey). You are also provided with a Yorkshire Pudding then it’s self-service vegetables and all the usual trimmings such as sauces, stuffing and lashings of gravy. I had a bit of everything, piled my plate high then proceeded to devour the whole feast with a pint of their delicious Posh Lager overlooking Petticoat Lane Market. Not a bad way to spend an early Sunday afternoon before hitting The Oval for some T20 cricket action.

Pros: Amazing food , Wonderful staff , Ethical interior

AMAZING Fish & Chips

We had the Tofish & chips as well as the 3D printed steak.

The Tofish was the standout by far. I have never had tofu with that consistency. It tasted really good.

The 3D printed steak was unique. It was cool to try, but would not get it again.

The dishes came with far too many chips, felt bad to waste, but could not finish them all.

The cocktails were ok

I've been here about three times and I absolutely love it! I'd be obese if I lived close to the restaurant. The cocktails and food are amazing 👏🏾 It has a lovely atmosphere 😊

Fish and chips are really impressive!

I was so sad I couldn't spend more time here/eat more food but we just got the fish and chips to go. It was really impressive imitation fish! I thoroughly enjoyed it and the chips and tartar sauce were great too

Top rated for good reason!

This is the type of place you need to go with your non-vegan friends if you’re trying to make a point that vegan food does taste amazing. The menu is full of classic favourites, from burgers to fish & chips… except it’s all vegan.

This is not where you need to go if you’re on a diet. But it’s definitely where you’ll get the best “tofish” (tofu cooked in a way that it tastes like fish). Not much is gluten-free by default on the menu, so we had to request it and it took way longer to be served. It was worth it though, and we were not in a rush. It’s not only the cause that is great, it’s also the food.

P.S: They also have an animal sanctuary where they offer a lifelong, no-kill, safe haven and forever home to abused and unwanted animals.

Pros: All profits go directly towards animal rights work, Vegans for the animals, Great food, great cause

Cons: Service can be a bit slow sometimes

Yum

Our first visit here, but it won’t be the last! We ordered the BBQ tempeh and the Omni pork steak and bacon. Both were excellent. It’s great to support a non-profit which cares about animal welfare.

Pros: Fully vegan, Friendly and accessible venue

A calm vibe. Nice food

I enjoyed my visit to Unity yesterday as the main host was lovely and welcoming, the mocktails, main and dessert were all really nice though broccoli spears needed more cooking and the steak was reminiscent of spam

I liked the laid back vibe the fact it's a non profit ✨🙏✨and the toilets were well taken care of which is important.

I would've liked to be checked on during my stay as we had to flag down staff to order, for drinks and dessert on a quiet Wednesday 2.15-5 but besides that I'd recommend. . .though I may go for the burger next time

Pros: It's non-profit ethos 🙏, Mocktails 🍹🍸 and large tea ☕, Salted Caramel Cake 🍰

Cons: Having to flag down staff., Undercooked broccoli spears.

Amazing, great food, friendly staff

Went here today for a late lunch, it was amazing! We ordered two small plates, the gnocchi with dip was great, the cauliflower cheese was outstanding! 🤩 Something I could eat daily!

For main I had the tofish and chips, another great meal, haven’t had any fish alternative so far that was this good! 👌🏼

Definitely a must visit when in London

Good atmosphere and not too loud

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Unity Diner. The staff were lovely, the music wasn't too loud. The Tofish was delicious, as was the tartare sauce. Sadly chips were under cooked (some were even cold). I wouldn't stop this from me returning but I'd mention it if I order chips again to maybe cook them for a little longer. I love that they have very private toilet cubicles which are all gender neutral.

Pros: All profits go to animal rights groups, Atmosphere & gender neutral toilets!, The tofish is gluten free!

Cons: Under cooked chips

Delicious Tofish and Chips

Great food! I had their tofish and chips plus the salted caramel cake, and both were delicious. The breading and flavors of the tofish were on point with the lemon and tartare sauce, and the chips had very nice seasoning and cook. The only thing I can complain about is that ordering takeout was a bit complicated; they only seem to take orders by phone, and when I called, they were too busy to help and I had to come in physically to order. Still worth the difficulty and wait for the great meal.

Pros: Delicious food

Cons: Pricey, Difficult to order takeaway

Great place

This will be our second trip to Unity diner and it was lovely! We ordered the Mac n cheese, cheesy fries, tofish bites and my daughter had the mocktail mojito which she loved!

It’s nice to just go for ‘fish’ and chips now and again. The chunky chips were amazing. Lovely and crispy.

We also ordered the chilli calamari which was ok quite rubbery. I think if you wanted mock meat/fish and wanting to support a great cause then this is really good for it.

Unity Diner

Food is delicious. I had the tofish and chips and they nailed the taste and texture. Sometimes I find vegan seafood to be too fishy but this manages to nail that balance of getting an authentic taste without it going overboard. I followed it up with the salted caramel cake which was amazing, well worth the money.

Only issue I had was with one staff member, he made a couple of comments which, while I doubt they were meant maliciously, made me feel a bit self conscious. Such as commenting "oh you're on your own then" which made me feel like he was saying something is wrong with that, and mentioning I finished my meal quickly as though I chucked it down or something. He didn't need to say these things and it made me feel a bit self conscious like I say. All the other wait staff were lovely though and this didn't put a damper on my experience.

Pros: Delicious!, All vegan

Cons: Unnecessary comments from staff, Expensive, but worth it for a treat

Great food

I decided to have three small plates and a mocktail. You can look at the menu online but then someone comes to your table. I ordered the tofish, calamari and the fried corn. The tofish was amazing. I thought the calamari wasn’t as good as some I’ve tried but it was still nice. The corn was well cooked and I enjoyed it a lot. I ordered a piers Morgan tears mocktail. I was happy to see a number of mocktails on the list. This looked pretty and tasted nice. I didn’t have room for dessert. Service was great and staff nice.

Tables were a little close together but that might just be me. I just feel awkward when trying to get out from behind a table and you’re apologising to the table next to you in case you bump it.

Must go in London

We tried several small plates and main dishes. Unfortunately we were too full to try the dessert. Overall is was very good, with some okay dishes (such as the gnocchi, calamari) and some outstanding ones (the Mac n cheese, the steak, the burgers, the loaded fries). The steak was very impressive. Would love to go back and try the dessert as well that looked delicious

Food not great

Such a shame and feel bad saying it but the food really isn’t great. It’s all meat and fish imitation (laser printed steak?!) and sadly isn’t up to scratch. I went for the glazed tempeh and it was a cold lump of nasty tasting mush with a side of raw onion! The poor waitress was serving the entire restaurant alone. Pudding was nice.

Great atmosphere, great food, great staff

Staff was super friendly, motivated and seemed to really enjoy working there.
Tofish & Chips were great, albeit a bit greasy. I waited less than 10 minutes for it. You get a glass of tap water for free.
I was super hungry and expected to need desert or more fries on the side. Tofish & Chips + Orange Juice was enough for me though.

I visited on a Saturday at around 6pm. Was lucky to get a seat at the bar. A couple came 20 minutes later and had to take their food to go. I don't know about other days, but on a Saturday a reservation seems recommendable.

They play music (atleast on Saturdays), which makes for a great atmosphere, but makes communication a bit more difficult.

Fab!

Finally got round to trying Unity Diner and it didn’t disappoint. The tofish and chips was delicious, the wine was fantastic and the chocolate and caramel cake was amazing (although the portion was huge!). Meat substitute focused menu which isn’t to my usual preference but still loved it here.
