So much more than words can transmit

One of the ultimate stand out vegan places I’ve ever been to in my life. The three of us had their famous £22 Sunday Roast extravaganza each selecting a different meat (roast chicken, lamb and turkey). You are also provided with a Yorkshire Pudding then it’s self-service vegetables and all the usual trimmings such as sauces, stuffing and lashings of gravy. I had a bit of everything, piled my plate high then proceeded to devour the whole feast with a pint of their delicious Posh Lager overlooking Petticoat Lane Market. Not a bad way to spend an early Sunday afternoon before hitting The Oval for some T20 cricket action.

Pros: Amazing food , Wonderful staff , Ethical interior

It was good

We had the tofish and chips, mozzarella sticks, and biscotti sundae. The mozzarella sticks were huge, we shared one. The tofish was good. Really greasy dish. The biscotti sundae was really good. Vegan soft serve is rare to find.

Pros: The biscotti sundae

Cons: The restaurant smelled like smoke from the kitchen

🐮

Awesome establishment — I only got to try the fish & chips, but they were absolutely phenomenal. I’m a bit sad I wasn’t able to visit on a Sunday, as I wanted to try a Sunday roast, but I’m glad I got to visit this place regardless. The highlight for me was the mashed peas, they were savory and tasted like gravy. Absolute masterpiece

Loved the food, and the portions were very large, especially the tofish and chips. The room is bright and pleasant and the staff is friendly.

Did not eat there!!

Having booked a table for two for a Bank Holiday roast dinner several weeks ago, we were extremely surprised and disappointed to be offered seats at the bar. There was a vacant table for two which was totally suitable, but we were told by the staff member that it was booked. Clearly our advance booking didn't count! We chose to leave and will not be returning. I have given two stars because the app doesn't allow me to give fewer.

Cons: Poor attitude to advance bookings.

Delightful Sunday roast!

I must admit it was my first time having “lamb”, “roast chicken” and “crackling” but wow, what a fantastic experience. Plenty of sides, an option of a Yorkie or Toad, and an amazing drinks menu (Piers Morgan’s tears were consumed)! Run, don’t walk, to keep this place in business (not that it was quiet)!

Pros: Sunday Roast, Drinks menu, Reasonably priced and tasty!

Cons: May need to reserve a spot as it gets busy!

Disappointing experience

Personally had a very poor experience. Booked in advance and confirmed my booking the day prior only to be told on arrival that my booking did not exist despite me proving my booking confirmation email. I was not accommodated despite there being multiple tables which were empty the whole time I was in the restaurant. I was advised to sit outside and eat there, on a windy and rainy day, without any outdoor protection… I was debating leaving but stayed because it was my last day in London and I really wanted to try it before my flight home. No one came to explain how the ordering process worked or to ask if I wanted to order any drinks until 2 mins before I left (when I was finishing my meal). The food was fairly good but not worth the price or having to sit outside to eat it. The staff gave me 10% off as compensation, still felt very disappointed.

Hoped for more

The vegan hot dog wasn't exactly what I'd hoped for. Partly because I didn't like the taste of the particular mustard they used and partly because I didn't like the texture of the sausage. It was just really soft.
What I liked were the cooked onions underneath the sausage, they really helped the flavor!
The chips were really crispy and the slaw was quite good.

Sadly the waitress seemed to not be feeling it today (at least that's what I hope it was), since she seemed quite unmotivated and like she didn't really want to be here.

So part of the reason why I didn't love my time there was that I felt kind of unwelcomed and it smelled kind of odd (not sure how to describe it but let it be said that I'm kind of sensitive when it comes to smells)

I did come back later in the day for a Chocolate Oreo Crunch Shake to go and the other waitresses I met this time around were really nice and friendly and made me feel very welcomed. Also the shake was amaziiing

Overhyped - maybe we just picked the wrong dishes though!

I didn’t particularly enjoy anything my group ordered sadly. Also a big thing to note was that a huge amount of menu options weren’t available for some reason - we got handed a list when we entered and at least 8 items weren’t available. The mozzarella sticks weren’t mozzarella imitation-y much more like violifes cheddar type of cheese. They were also way too big - too much cheese in one go rather than being bites or thinner sticks. The chips were good and I had the kebab burger, which wasn’t bad but could’ve done with less spice as it overpowered the lettuce inside. I also couldn’t taste any of the supposed garlicyness of the dish.

Our server was lovely however I won’t be returning and believe there is much better fully vegan places to eat in London!

So good!!

We had the Mozarella sticks, the tofish & chips and the lobster sub and everything was sooo good (especially the Mozarella Sticks). The Lotus Shake is also a 10/10! You should definitely come and try😍😍

Yummy

We just wanted to grab a quick cocktail since we'd already eaten. But because we were curious, we ended up having two small bites. Very tasty!

Prices in London are what they are...

We were there again and ate Mozzarella Sticks as a starter. The fish and chips and Hotdog as the Main Menu.
We liked it a lot.

Best Sunday Roast!

As a Canadian I have never had a Sunday roast, but I can't imagine it being any better than this. We had the Cashew Sage Nut Roast and the Root Vegetable Wellington. Everything was great, but I was particularly amazed at the cheesy sides, that actually tasted cheesy. I hope to go back again before I leave to try the other roast options and another Biscoff Sundae.

Cons: Lange Wartezeit

Amazing vegan carvery

We’ve been several times before to Unity Diner, but having the vegan carvery on a Sunday is something else! There’s so many delicious options to choose from, I cannot recommend it enough for Sunday roast lovers!

Good food but way to pricey for the quality

The food is good/average. It’s a buffet and everything seems to be made from scratch. The costs for the food is always 22.5 Pounds which is only worth it when you go several times. The given portion of the main dish is really small. The rest are mostly simply vegetables. It does taste good but in comparison for me it was too expensive.

a bit underwhelming

We tried their popular tofish & chips as well as the calamari. I've never had real fish and chips so I don't know what it's supposed to taste like but there was some sweetness to the fish I didn't really like. However, both the pea dip and the dill dip that were served along with it were very delicious! The calamari were good, the house lemonades were good too but tasted less natural than expected, more like mocktails. The staff was kind, the ambiance was alright, though there was a strange smell by the entrance

The best vegan food I've eaten ..

.. and I've eaten at vegan restaurants both in the UK and in many European cities. At Unity Diner I normally visit on a Saturday so choose dishes from their a la carte menu, but I've also visited on a Sunday and enjoyed their Sunday buffet (vegan versions of a Sunday roast - self service, eat as much as you like.) Service is always friendly and helpful, maybe not always as quick as I'd like but worth waiting for.

Pros: Excellent soft serve icecream , Friendly and helpful staff, The kebabs are tasty

Cons: Sometimes food takes a little longer to arrive

Nice food

Overall nice food, some dishes are great and others are ok but not fantastic. It’s also a bit smelly inside (smells like their extractor fan isn’t working hard enough). But I really like going here

Carvery to live for

Everyone talks about how great Unity diner is, so I assumed it would be a bit overrated. How wrong I was. This place is incredible!!! We went on Sunday for the carvery and the amount of choice was amazing. If you are indecisive, this might not be the place for you - or you will need a massive plate.
