Book a table (it's easy online) as this one seems to be very popular. As others have said, the portions are rather small, not like in bulk chinese restaura ts, and also a portion of cooked rice is just a small cup so if you are two, order for both. The good thing about small portions is that you can order several of the interesting items from the menu... The downside of course is that it is quite pricey. I recommend the stylish and very tasty Peking duck.

This vegan Chinese restaurant, now with two branches, Islington and Golders Green, had been on my list of vegan restaurants to try for a while and thank goodness I called and booked, as for weekend bookings I was told generally you’ll need to call up to two weeks before! It was true and I had to book on a different date.

I'd agree with some other reviews, that it's a little expensive, but absolutely worth it, for the extensive range of dishes on offer and with generous portion sizes, you will not go hungry. I’d imagine the business rates for the fantastic location don’t come cheap, so I understand the prices.
I was at the Islington restaurant with family and friends, so we were all able to try a little of each other's dishes, which was great, as it gave me ideas on what to order next time!
The Hand Shredded king oyster mushrooms was a good starter and the Deep-fried King Oyster Mushrooms with salt and Sichuan pepper was good too. The similar deep fried tofu dish was delivered to our table in error, but I have to say it looks amazing too and was disappointed to hand it back!
The Wontons (dumplings in the house special sauce) was good too.
My main was Sizzling fried tofu in a black bean sauce and I’d suggest a side of rice with this, as I had.
Overall really looking forward to my next visit. I will go to the branch in Golders Green I think as the menu differs slightly.

I went to Tofu Vegan in person in mid 2021, and I’ve been desperate to go back and try more of the menu ever since! The experience in 2021 was wonderful, the food was great, the staff were all so friendly and accommodating and the restaurant itself was really cute. It was positive experience that really stayed with me.
Read moreI was finally able to get some of the food again, but this time as a takeaway - and the quality of food was just as incredible. The portions are large, so much so I worried I wasn’t going to be able to finish this food - but it was so delicious I finished the lot. The delivery was quick too. Whether in person, or as a takeaway, I highly recommend Tofu Vegan!

Our whole experience was very pleasant even though we had a little wait. The service was very good and so was the food. The sweet and sour chicken was so amazing and tasted just like to real thing.(tip: get a side of white rice to go with it)

When I tell you this place is beyond delicious. Oh my goodness gracious this place is absolute perfection. You must go. You will be sorry if you don’t. I’ve recently left London & I miss this place so much already. The food is beyond delicious. The portion sizes are great. We asked the waiter what he recommended & his suggestions were some of the most delicious food I’ve ever had. I cannot recommend this establishment enough.

Love this new spot! Loads of Gf options that are actually delicious, they also are very knowledgeable and even offer gf soy sauce which some people could over look. Love the service and how accommodating they are! Not to mention the food is delicious
