The Best Vegan Restaurant - Edit
We love Chinese food after living in China for couple of years. Since being back we never found good vegan Chinese, until now. Authentic flavours that are truly delicious. There is a dish for everyone. We absolutely loved it. This is a restaurant we will make a special trip to London for. Lovely staff and thank you.

Yummy - Edit
Yummy vegan traditional chinese food. They were fully booked but still made a table for me when I walked in. I had the fried noodls with tofu and they were great and when I looked at all the food on other people's tables I wanted to come back for more!!

Amazing! - Edit
Firstly, Upper Street is one of my favourite roads in London so that's already a plus. Secondly, the food is so good!
Read moreWe ordered the sizzling tofu in house special sauce first but the waitress helpfully pointed out that it was very similar in flavour to the Peking d'ck we ordered, so we got the sizzling tofu in black bean sauce again. We also had fried noodles with tofu and they were delicious, probably the best I've had. We also had bao but they were a bit boring so we'd probably go for wontons next time. The Peking d'ck was our absolute favourite, it comes cucumber, spring onions, pancakes and plum sauce!
Pros: Varied options, Tasty food , Great service

OK, not great - Edit
Found the dishes very standard in taste, nothing sophisticated, and much much too oily. For their prices I expected a more unique experience rather than a vegan version of a 1980s Chinese fast food counter.

Top top Chinese food - Edit
This restaurant is fantastic. I can't believe it's taken so long to find it existed. Choice is extensive. There is a separate gluten free menu that my daughter loved. The food is absolutely incredible. And the staff were very friendly and attentive. Only downside is it felt pretty expensive so cost quite a bit for a family of four.

Amazing flavours and quality - Edit
Ate here this evening, was super busy and they were fully booked but they managed to squeese me in. But when go back I'll reserve a table as the restaurant is really popular.
Read morePrices are expensive but the quality and flavours justify the price, the staff are all lovely too and happy to explain the menu.
I opted for a the house specials, starter of sizzling tofu, followed by wontons in chilli sauce and twice cooked "fish" with special fried rice which cost around £50. Everthing tasted great and arrived at the table promptly.
One year on and this time ordered a delivery. We opted for salt & pepper tofu, main on vegan lamb, special fried rice, sweet and sour tofu and a wonton starter which my bf.
It is pricey but the quality and flavours are well worth it.

Love the food! - Edit
I’ve been a few times and loved every dish apart from one. The waiters noticed I wasn’t eating it and offered to replace it with something else or not charge me for it! I refused for them to take it off the bill as I ordered it and I’m at fault, but they took it off anyway 🥰

it's good but not perfect - Edit
The food is great and quite pricey given the portion. £15 for the fried chicken pieces with 60% of the plate being dried chilli is kinda ridiculous.
Read moreThe dumplings are really good! Although I find it a little misleading that they have a sign in the restaurante saying everything is made fresh daily - which is true with the tofu, but not for a bunch of other stuff probably or I'd be very surprised. I am pretty sure a lot of pre-made asian style meat substitute is used (like the fake fish and asian style cured meat thing). It's also a little too salty for my taste, but that's probably just me, it's always the case with chinese restaurants I find them quite salty. Went there when they first opened and it was really popular and either a queue or booking required. there's another branch now so I guess the hype is over. certainly won't be queueing up for this food.

Perfect vegan Chinese meal - Edit
This isn’t the first time we’ve been to Tofu Vegan.
Read moreIt has been a staple stop for us on our visits to London for the last year or so.
I’ve been vegan for around 5 years now, and it was challenging finding Chinese restaurants that cater well for vegans. I missed having dim sum with my family and all the staples I enjoyed as a kid growing up.
Thank goodness for Tofu Vegan existing because I don’t feel like I miss out on anything anymore.
They have dim sum options, lots of dishes, including ho fun noodles which are my favourite!
It’s easy to get to and the service is great. The staff are attentive and very helpful, always willing to provide recommendations.
I highly recommend visiting Tofu Vegan if you really want to eat a truly authentic vegan Chinese meal.

Fantastic fully vegan restaurant - Edit
Great choice of dishes and pictures on the menu don't give them justice. Definitely ask the waiters if it's your first time there as they have great advice! We were advised to try the "Twice cooked fisc" and steamed buns and it was really mind-blowing!
Read moreWe also had "sizzling tofu in house special sauce" and that was also great!
As dessert we got advised to get the "sweet potato rolls" and they were definitely yummy!
Pros: Fully vegan, Knowledgeable waiters and super friendly
Cons: Must book in advance to be sure to have a place
