I tried the vegan carbonara, vegan lasagne, vegan tiramisú and we're all amazing! It's my favorite restaurant in Rome. Unfortunately not fully vegan but with extensive vegan menu. Highly recommend! It's always busy so I would advise to either reserve a table or try not to go during rush lunch/ dinner time. (They close aprox from 15h-18h, so be aware of that)

Per chi è vegano posso dire solo che potete soddisfare ogni vostra curiosità culinaria mangiando gourmet! Perché non è vegano ma ama le verdure ed vuole concedersi dei piaceri del palato questo è il posto giusto. I prodotti sono tutti genuini e per la maggiore prodotti direttamente dai proprietari.

Restaurant was in a great location! Staff were so friendly and accommodating (they managed to squeeze my partner and I in without a reservation). I highly, highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you’re in the area. I specifically recommend the carbonara as it was easily the best vegan carbonara I have tried. When I visit Rome again in the future I will 100% be back here!

AMAZING! Vegan Carbonara ROME! - Edit
I thought I would never find a good vegan carbonara in Rome... how wrong I was! We visited Rifugio Romano and the food was honestly amazing. The restaurant itself was cosy, the staff very pleasant and friendly. The vegan carbonara was so authentic tasting, you wouldn't know the difference. Can't wait to come back!

We had the cannelloni (really good) and the Mezzemanica alla Griecia (not so good. To 'Al dente' for my taste= bit dry) I would recommend the fresh pasta instead.

My wife and I have been coming to Rome for over 23 years and we have been eating at Rifugio for 7 years (we have been vegan for 8 years). Rifugio have been fully vegan since Mar 1 2023. The restaurant is run by a very passionate family 💚

There are many places to find vegan food in Rome BUT we always keep coming back the most to Rifugio ❤️
Although the restaurant is tucked away in a side street, it is walking distance from Termini and Repubblica which are both well-connected.
The menu also includes seasonal options and there are new dishes to try every time we visit!

Continuously improving and changing their menu with seasonal food and desserts that are addictive. Having been coming back here since it opened and it would not be a holiday in Rome without a visit or three to this restaurant. Run by passionate vegan family.

The place is pretty small, with both indoor and outdoor seating, but the atmosphere is nice. The menu is pretty diverse with different veganized Italian dishes. Went with a couple of nonvegan friends, and we all enjoyed the food. We spent around €25 per person, each having ordered an appetizer, a main, and a dessert.
Read moreOne thing this place could improve on is the reservation system. When booking a slot online, had to wait like a half a day just to receive a message that the time was not available. You'll probably want to book as in advance as possible to avoid this.

Read moreThe food of this restaurant was surely the best vegan food that I ate in Rome. It was very tasty and the service was good.
We ordered: arancino, fried olives, bruschetta with nduja (those 3 as antipasti), spaghetti carbonara, risotto and tiramisu. The risotto was the best risotto I ever ate, it was very tasteful. My boyfriend had the spaghetti carbonara and it was an out of this world dupe of the real thing. The sauce tasted like egg yolk without using kala namak.
You must go here, and I recommend to make a reservation (I did that also).

I took my non-vegan friends here and they loved it. We tried pizza and pastas but my highlight was the bruschetta with Gorgonzola and mushrooms. Our waiter was really lovely. We did book.

A must when you visit Rome! (Book a table in advance!) - Edit
This little cozy restaurant offers a large selection of typical Italian dishes. They have a regular menu and a vegan menu, which features almost every regular dish in vegan form, and a very decen selection of vegan wines! Sadly we only went once, there were so many things I would have liked to try, but I am definitely coming here at least once every time I am in Rome!
Read moreMy partner and I booked a table 2-3 days in advance. It can be difficutl to get a table otherwise! The reservation system online worked nicely and I got confirmation and reminder e-mails about it. We got a nice table outside which was very cozy even though it was a cold month. We were very hungry and excited so we ordered a lot, and we had no space left for dessert. Prices per dish are about 13 EUR, very fair considering the quality of the food, the size of the portion, and the nice environment they have going on. Staff was very friendly as well.
