Great Osakan Cuisine - Edit
Really great Osakan cuisine! One of the troubles of being vegan in Japan is the lack of options and as lovely as some of the other vegan restaurants we tried were, they had lots of burgers and not as much “traditional” cuisine. Having just had a tour guide tell us about all this traditional Osakan food that we couldn’t eat, we found out that pretty much all of it was served here! Can’t speak highly enough of it, so nice to not have to miss out on any of the culinary culture just because we’re vegan! Also has really friendly staff who speak great English and an easy to use online order/menu system in English!

Delicious food in popular area - Edit
It’s located directly in the dotonbori district, but we only had to wait around 5 minutes to be seated. They have English menu and the staff also speaks English. The food was very delicious, takoyaki and gyoza are definitely worth it.

Delicious 100% vegan food - Edit
The food was amazing! I went there twice with my boyfriend when we were in Osaka and I tried the two vegan ramen types, which were delicious! My boyfriend is not even vegetarian/vegan and he loved the ramen as well. The menu had a wide selection of japanese food to choose from and the service was great, the staff being very nice and efficient.
Read moreJapan was a place where I really struggled to find vegetarian food, since every single place puts fish, chicken or beef on their dishes (even when the food doesn’t seem to have meat or doesn’t need to have meet it looks like there will always be surprise meat), so finding this restaurant was a relief and I was finally able to try some local food without the fear of eating meat accidentally. My boyfriend was also pleased to eat there not only because the food was good, but also he had food poisoning on his very first meal when we started the trip in tokyo (he ate a dish with beef) and he wanted to minimise the chances of having issues again, so he was avoiding meat and fish whenever possible.
A plus in that restaurant (but totally not mandatory of course) was that most the staff spoke English, which really helped our experience since we were there as tourists.

I wasn't a fan of the takoyaki. My friend who has had the real thing really liked it and said it tasted similar.

Excellent food. Good atmosphere - Edit
The location was easy to find. They have a big menu with lots of Japanese dishes that are usually not vegan. The takoyaki, gyōza and aubergine maps were particularly good. Very reasonably priced bearing in mind it was a tourist hot-spot. Note. They only accept cards. No cash. And also going to the toilet was an adventure in itself!

Fine food, fine atmosphere - Edit
What you may notice first in this place is that despite being in one of the most crowded parts of the city, even on the near busiest part of the week, it's not that busy.
Read moreI went at 6pm on a sunday, many people out on the street, not many customers inside. And almost all of us (myself included) foreigners!
this is not an objectively bad thing, it means I got my food quick, but for a place styled like this, in a busy area, with big glass walls, sometimes it's a bit... awkward?
Regardless, HOW WAS THE FOOD? Well...I had a small portion of normal takoyaki, 3 type kimchi, and a gin & tonic. The Takoyaki exterior texture was great! rice flour is a great choice. The filling was not as rich and savory as I had hoped though. The sauce was quite different than I was expecting, but still good, and the mayo was a good balancer.
The kimchi was not so strong, and not spicy at all. A little sad, but a fine compliment to some takoyaki, and the carrot in particular was quite nice!
The gin & tonic was probably a little better than average, but quite big! i was surprised what a healthy glass I was served ha!
Overall, solid place. Great food.
Pros: Variety of food and drink, Spacious, Reasonably priced
Cons: Bit empty?, Order w/ QR code, only card payment accepted

Okay without being great - Edit
Have to agree with a few others who suggest that the fawning reviews are a bit over the top. It is a solid asian vegan restaurant without being particularly amazing. Was also disappointed that the kushi-katsu was off the menu.

Fantastic japanese food - Edit
Our first taste of japanese cousine was amazing. Just a couple of hours after landing in Osaka, we "landed" in this lovely restaurant. The servers were very nice and spoke English, menu was also in English with pictures. And the fact that it is all plant base restaurant, it was easy for us to pick anything from the menu. Saved the hassle of translating a searching for hidden animal products. We had both choices of ramen, spicy and not spicy and both were delicious. So full of flavour. Vegan takoyaki was also very good, I was happy to be able tp try this popular Osaka dish, because as a vegan, those takoyaki selling on the street are a no go for me. We have also tried sake and it was nice to see how it is traditionaly served in a woodem box, with a glass filled until it overflowes. So over all this was a truly exceptional experience for us. I highly recomend going there. 👍😋🌱

Nice japanese vegan food - Edit
Wanted to try some Japanese style vegan food, and this is a fully japanese restaurant. The food was nice and all, but for my feeling, it seemed to lack some more taste or something. It's not that I wouldn't recommend this place, but maybe I'm spoiled with all the great vegan flavors I got used to where I'm from. I know vegan is still in its beginning stages in Japan and it can be a bit of a challenge to get vegan food in Japan, so with that in regards this is a good place to eat if you want to eat vegan japanese.

The best vegan restaurant in Osaka - Edit
This has to be the best vegan restaurant in Osaka, in the heart of Dontobori. The food is exceptional, we came here 3 times during our stay in Osaka and we loved it. We’re definitely going to miss the incredible food from here. Each dish was so tasty and the service was so lovely. It’s hard to find vegan restaurants let alone ones that serve AMAZING food. If you’re visiting Osaka, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Tasty vegan takoyaki - Edit
One of the dishes Osaka is known for is takoyaki, which are octopus balls. On my trip to Japan, I really wanted to see what the hype was about but I couldn’t eat them until I came across Pivot Base. I noticed that they had vegan takoyaki in their menu and I knew I had to try it out. Located very close to the Glico Running Man in Dotonbori, this restaurant serves up some really delicious vegan takoyaki and kushikatsu skewers. I definitely recommend this restaurant after an evening stroll through the crowds of Dotonbori. Note that they don’t accept cash, it’s card only. #Veganuary
