Best vegan spot in Japan!

By far one of my FAVORITE vegan spots in Japan. The food was wonderful... we ordered the faux eel and the rice bowl and the anchovy pizza! The atmosphere was adorable too. There’s an outside seating area and the decor just really made the eating experience that more special. They also sell cocktails and organic wine, if that’s your thing! You should def come here!

Pros: Everything is vegan, Organic, healthy ingredients, Wonderful service

Cons: A bit expensive, Smoothies are not worth it

Great food

I had the stir fried soy meat yakiniku donburi bowl and it was really great. The restaurant has a really good vibe, with some outside seating, and also caters to parties and does takeaway. A range of vegan foods (such as instant noodles) and vegan-themed bags and t-shirts are also on sale.

Pros: All vegan, Vegan versions of Japanese food, Open late

Cons: A little on the pricey side

Largest Vegan Menu in Osaka

Paprika is a great vegan restaurant (moslty organic!) with an extensive menu that really caters to new-vegans or people dining with non-vegan friends. They have lots of shareable dishes as well as items such as pizza that aren't found elsewhere in Osaka. It's on the richer, heavier side compared to other health-focused venues in Osaka, but depending on the ocassion it's great.
At lunch time I recommend Loco Moco bowl :)

One word..AMAZING!

A delight for any foodie vegan or no visiting Osaka! Highlight for me were the vegan Japanese classics...Unagi (broiled eel). Taste and texture spot on, and flavours knocked socks off! Also had kaki-fry (oysters), kara-age (marinated chicken), hamburger. All super tasty. Chilled out dining space, open kitchen and nice counter bar to sit at too.

Pros: All vegan, non alcoholic beer, yummy desserts and

Beauitful cozy restaurant

Paprika Shokudou is a cozy restaurant with a home feel. The waiting staff are very polite and friendly. There is at least one person that speaks English. The Menu is English friendly and has some Japanese style fried Soy meat options besides the variety of Western options including Vegan Pizza and Pasta. They have a cute little bar which I can't talk much about since I don't drink Alcohol :-)
All their food is Organic and freshly made. I could feel the freshness in the taste when I ordered the Karaage Fried Soy with Brown rice bowl and Fried Oyster Mushrooms - Very yummy.
They accept international Credit cards - I used my AmEx! (Usually declined politely at many places).
Definitely worth a visit if you are in Osaka - Very easy to find with GMaps. They are also located very close to the Subway.

Pros: Cozy, Fresh, Organic food, Friendly Staff

best vegan food in Osaka

I love this place so much. My boyfriend and I came here twice for dinner whilst visiting Osaka and the food was delicious both times. We highly recommend the teriyaki tempe as an appetizer, and the soy karaage as a set or don is great too. Had a soy milk parfait for dessert the second time we came, which was incredible! Lovely staff, very friendly and great atmosphere. Will definitely come back next time we’re in Osaka.

Great spot!

Really enjoyed eating out at this place. Had a few dishes and enjoyed them all, especially the karage. Small serves, but I'm beginning to learn that's normal in Japan. Not too badly priced. They sell other vegan products too e.g pasta, snacks, t-shirts etc
Will definitely be eating here again during our time in Osaka.

Pros: All vegan menu, Good variety

Cons: Small serves

Very good AND overpriced food

The place is super nice. The staff is friendly, even though their English is very poor. Food is good, we ordered several dishes and enjoyed them all. The baked avocado with homemade vegan cheese was delicious. Fries were good, the vegan burger tasty, the tofu cheesecake a real treat. However, the servings are small (go if you are not very hungry) and the price is NOT reasonable considered how much you eat. This is always disappointing: I am happy to pay for my food, but it has to be filling

Pros: good food

Cons: small servings, overpriced

Delicious

Delicious vegan hamburger plate, and MUST try the vegan eel! I’ve never had eel before so couldn’t compare, but my brother had and it said it was spot on, minus the fishy aftertaste. It was delicious! Their desserts are amazing too and I finally got to try kawaii parfaits in japan, as a vegan! The kindest staff ever. Thank you again ladies!

Friendly place, good food.

Came here first time a year ago with a friend at lunch time and we had a delicious lunch of burger, rice and salad along with cheesecake and soft serve for desert. All really good.
I was back in Osaka solo last week so dropped in for dinner and for a seat at the bar which made it a really enjoyable evening watching the workings of a busy kitchen. I had a soy meat Donburi bowl and some French fries and a slice of cheesecake. The donburi was delicious, heaps of flavour. The French fries were really more like wedges but were fine if that’s how you like your potato. Cheesecake was smooth and had a nice base. Service is very friendly and welcoming.

good food but too pricey

The food was really good but nothing you would miss anything if you don't come here. And even though being organic it is way too expensive! Seemed like one would pay for the food to be pretty arranged and not to be filling.

Pros: lots of choices

Cons: too expensive

vegan "healthy" food

Small restaurant with a "eco friendly" touch. For my taste the food was a little bland... buuut i guess some people would enjoy exactly that... so i guess three stars, because the food wasn't really bad, just not to my personal liking.

beautiful food and restaurant

We arrived here on our first night in Osaka and felt warmly welcomed as we arrived via bicycles on a cold winter evening. To our pleasant surprise, there was a private party happening to celebrate the 4 year anniversary of the restaurant. Even though we had no reservations, they happily included us and we got to try a beautiful selection of the owner's favorite dishes! Everything was delicious and the hospitality was unmatched by anywhere we had ever been. We will definitely return on our next trip to Japan!

Pros: unique vegan food, comfortable atmosphere, passion

Delicious karaage

Though there were many tempting items on the menu, I opted for the karaage set dinner (largely inspired by a previous reviewer), and I was not disappointed. The karaage itself was so delicious I had to restrain myself from ordering more just for the taste. The tiny soup that came with the set dinner was also delicious, while the other two items (salad and a side) were plain but OK.

The atmosphere was casual and pleasant. Service was minimalist but fine.

Highly recommended!

Cutest restaurant, filling meal!

The decor of this place is adorable. Not the cheapest but we were stuffed by the end of it! The karaage was amazing, just like I remember it - super realistic! I got a burger rice bowl and soup, full of veggies and delicious! Paired with a glass of vegan wine and a brownie for dessert!

Pros: great food , vegan wine , beautiful restaurant

Cons: bit of a walk from main area , pricier than other places

Fantastic place, delicious healthy vegan food with great service.

I’m so happy I found this place! It is very nice with very friendly people. The staff I had spoke English. The first thing they did as I was seated was show me the button to push to call them to the table, though I didn’t need to use it. I had a steamed veggie salad, soup, brown rice, sesame smoothie and a ginger tea. All were the highest quality freshness, taste and presentation.

As Advertised - no small feat!

This is the 4th veggie or vegan restaurant we've visited in Japan, and the first three were either closed or had run out of food well before closing.

This place is fully and proudly vegan and has a wide range of food and drink to choose from. I found the food pretty good even as a meat eater.

Great variety of tasty vegan food!

This restaurant has a nice and welcoming vibe when you enter. The menu has an extensive range from pizza's and pasta's to karage and rice bowls. Every meal I had was very tasty but leaned on the smaller side, so getting an appetizer or side dish wouldn't hurt. I highly recommend this restaurant, but be prepared for a slight walk to get there! But a walk never bothered me.

Pros: Great range of food, Friendly service

Cons: A bit far out of the city centre
