Nice quiet spot with lots of choice. Went for the katsu curry myself which was lovely. Chips were great. Got gyoza too which weren't the best I've eaten but also ate them when I was full at the end of the meal so maybe that was why. Would defo recommend!

Standard option in Osaka - Edit
"Papurika restaurant" is something of a phenomenon in Osaka. Whenever people talk about vegan food in Osaka, Papurika seems to be the de facto standard. And after visiting, I understand why. It's easy to find, has a hip and modern vibe and offers a wide variety of vegan foods. Please note that it can be busy for dinner, when I visited the place was packed!
Read moreBased on recommendation of another Happy Cow user I ordered the tempeh set meal. It was very greasy, but that does make it easy to eat. There's quite some variety in the plate with a mini salad, some marinated vegetables, miso soup and rice. I also ordered a green smoothie, which was also okay (and large!)
Except for that fact that one has to order via a QR-code, I can recommend Papurika restaurant and
understand why it's the de facto standard in Osaka.

Had the Burger with Fries and i wouldn't recommend it. From the other reviews you should probably take the Set Menu.

Das Restaurant ist sehr süß eingerichtet und hübsch dekoriert. Man ordert die Speisen online über das Handy und bekommt dann alles an den Tisch gebracht. Gezahlt wird an der Theke. Wer gerne am Tisch bestellt kann das eventuell befremdlich finden. Das Essen selbst war aber wirklich lecker und frisch!!Das Personal war auch total freundlich und zuvorkommend.Wer auf der Suche nach veganen Alternativen ist wird hier auf jeden Fall fündig!!

The staff were wonderful and the food was delicious (burgers, gyoza & dessert). Highly recommended! Although, best you visit with a relatively charged phone as the menu/ordering is done online (and it's all in Japanese so if you're not fluent you may need further charge to translate).

But... we found the tomato and basil pizza too thin and with way too much sauce. We did add the soy cheese, but still, the base and sauce proportions were completely wrong.
Pros: All vegan, no dramas choosing, Tasty food, prepared rapidly, Great service
Cons: Pizza base too thin for topping, Quite expensive for the portion sizes

I came here with a lot of expectations and then I disappointed. The place is cosy but not so clean, the floor is sticky and the main door even the chairs are dirty. The food is nice , not perfect not bad, I ordered many things and I like only the fried mushrooms (chicken). The other plates wasn’t the best part of the dinner. Even the desert was nothing special, I ordered cheesecake and wasn’t fresh at all. The people was friendly and polite. #Veganuary
