Extremely considerate of gluten cross contamination - Edit
Me and my partner with a gluten sensitivity had the best meal in Osaka during our 4 day stay. The space is cosy and communal with seamless service. Gluten free options on the menu with great service to clarify if we were sharing and what level of gluten avoidance was needed.

Organic Vegan Meal at Papurika Shokudo, Osaka Japan - Edit
We chose to come back to this restaurant due to its excellent food and the fact that it’s open every day. They provide a diverse range of vegan options, including many healthy and organic ingredients. The dishes are delicious and incorporate both Western and Japanese culinary styles. Great meal I had 2 soya mains which to me were like sides (huge stomach), the tempeh burger was great the sauce was amazing and all the meal was healthy inc the fries. Super cheap too for what I received!

Really cute restaurant at which we ate multiple times during our time in Osaka. This was a great place to try some local food options. The food tastes great and their service is really quick. They also have a small store in the middle of the restaurant where you can buy vegan snacks like frozen donuts or vegan cup noodles.

Lovely, bright restaurant in central Osaka. Very easy to find. Lots of choice on the menu, from Japanese dishes to western burgers and fries. We had a soy meat and veg rice bowl with kimchi which had a deep, rich flavour, a tempeh burger that was very filling and a decadent chocolate tarte for dessert. It was all utterly delicious! Service was warm and friendly - and they do frozen vegan doughnuts to takeaway!

I went for the oyster dish and it was probably the best meal I’ve had in Japan. Each bite an absolute pleasure. The side dishes were thoughtful and tasty. The salad was as fresh as I’ve come across here accompanied by homemade dressing that was uniquely zesty.

Read moreSeriously though y’all this was a real treat, glad we put coming here as a priority for our Osaka trip. The staff were beautiful, the food was lovely and felt really healthy and sustaining for us, we left very satisfied and once again, that cheesecake was such a perfect end to a beautiful meal.

LOVE that they have a shop. Great to pickup emergency snacks in Japan which is really difficult to find at times in Japan (including noodles, protein bars, sauces, frozen food, donuts, crisps, ready meals, etc.)

Cons: Tempeh burger felt a little plain, Fried (mushroom) chicken was a little greasy

We went to this restaurant based on the Happy Cow reviews and we were not disappointed. I had a rice bowl and my partner had a tempeh burger and fries. We also shared some fried Gyoza and we wished we ordered more. Would highly recommend for vegan and vegetarians but also anyone interested in eating more plant based foods.

We got a rice bowl with soy meat, as well as the tomato pesto pizza and omg!! The pizza was so delicious. It was small but very worth the money!! The restaurant itself is so nice. And the best part is that it is all vegan!
