So much delicious vegan food! - Edit
What an amazing selection of vegan food! This was the first place we went in Osaka that had a huge variety of vegan food, and made it very hard to choose! All the dishes we had were excellent. We also had a tofu desert cheesecake which was super yummy. Highly recommend, worth waiting in the queue for!

This was the first vegan spot we found in Osaka. Somehow we lucked out because it wasn’t crowded at all! I loved the ambiance of this place and the ladies who worked there were super sweet. Be HUNGRY when you go here though because the serving sizes were a lot bigger than we expected 😅 but everything was absolutely delicious. I ordered the stir fried veggies w/tempeh teriyaki meal and I almost couldn’t finish it but oh, I did. 😉

Visited on September 22, 2023. Compared to other cities, finding vegan options in Osaka proved to be more challenging. Discovering Paprika Shokudo was truly exciting! The restaurant has a charming rustic and cozy ambiance, offering high-quality food at a reasonable price. Both my partner and I were stuffed after our meal! We ordered the soy meat karaage and vegan cheese hamburger steak.

We got the fish burger, sweet and sour pork and fried chicken. They definitely weren't bad but they weren't mind blowing either, they were fine. The pork and chicken seemed to be the same type of mock meat, the texture seemed to be the same. The flavour again was fine, nothing wrong with it and a good option to have, but I probably wouldn't be desperately trying to go again

Loved being able to go to Paprika Shokudo Vegan after it was highly recommended from a friend. Got the karaage meal set, the Vega fried chicken, and the organic cola. The karaage meal set came with a refreshing salad, well seasoned brown rice, a fluffy tofu quiche with veggies, and of course, the perfectly crispy and flavourful karaage. The vegan fried chick is made of mushrooms and for someone who doesn't love mushroom, were seasoned to perfection. The organic cola was great - not too sweet but refreshing! I'm so sad I'll only get to go here the once!

We enjoyed our meal overall, but it was a tad hit or miss. The teriyaki burger had a soggy bun on arrival, which is never ideal. I felt like I had to eat it fast, and it was just okay. I had the beyond patty. They were also out of fries, which was a bummer.
Read moreMy partner got the moco loco and liked it okay. The patty was covered in tomato sauce, which seemed a bit weird.
Our favorite was the oyster mushroom appetizer. Would recommend that for sure.
Edit - oh, and the entryway floor and bathroom floor were really sticky, which I found pretty off-putting (definitely not typical of our experience in Japan)

We were craving a hearty meal and we got it here. We had the grilled veg and soy meat bowl. It was a great portion size and so so yum. The sauce was sweet and the soy meat was so tender 10/10.

I order soy meat karaage lunch set, dumpling and ginger ale. It was the best choice and especially dumpling and sauce on top was really delicious! I wanna go there again. And please don't miss ordering ginger ale. You don't regret it.

This restaurant featured a small shop with a variety of vegan specialty products such as marshmallows and cookies. I tried the vegan Karaage topped with vegan cheese sauce, it satisfied my craving for something fried and indulgent. On the side I got steamed veggies with a pesto like dipping sauce that was honestly my favorite thing. We shared gyoza, also delish. And my husband got a vegan sweet and sour dish that was also very tasty. I took a slice of cheesecake to go, tasty but missing that decadent mouthfeel of traditional cheesecake. Would highly recommend. The place has such a cute vibe and friendly ambience.

For us the restaurant was conveniently located so we went there twice. Both times the restaurant was crowded but we got a seat within a couple minutes.

They have outdoor and indoor seating.
You order via QR-code (menu is a little funky online and different to the printed one at the table).
First time we had a teriyaki beyond meat burger (with fries) which was tasty. The tempeh burger was quite bland and flavorless.
Next time we had the beyond burger with aurora sauce, also tasty; and the tempeh teriyaki pizza which was better than the burger but also not the best. Tempeh was still a little bland.
For me the best part of the visit where the groceries for purchase. We got some instant noodles and some snacks (vegan rusk, puffs, …)

Read moreId be drawn to give 5 stars due to the vast food options and their overall good taste. But as we left the store spending - compared to other restaurants we had in japan - quite a big amount of money, it would need more to receive that 5 stars.
