What a place!
I thought the decoration was the best, and the staff was super friendly!
The "Cthulhu Burguer" was delicious! I don't even like mushrooms, I fell in love with the crispy ones that came in the hamburger. I also had Apple pie for with vanilla icecream, which was very tasty. I recommend!

Pros: Decoration, Delicious food, All vegan!

Cons: For me, the price...

General Tso's Wings With Twilight Zone in the Background

I was excited to try this restaurant because of the monster theme, but when I looked at the menu I was nervous about all the Impossible products. I ended up being extremely pleased with everything I ordered.

They had a great selection of cocktails and mocktails. I enjoyed my Phantasm on VHS. For dinner, we split the General Tso's Wings, parmesan fries, and the Fulci sandwich. Everything was delicious!

I loved the decor and the staff were extremely friendly.

Pros: Fun decor, Friendly staff

Super fun spot, with great food. Make sure to make a reservation as they are BUSY! Wish we could have gone more than once as we wanted to try multiple items on the food and drink menu!

Pros: Many amazing-sounding dishes, Great drinks (alcohol and non), Fun decor and waitstaff

Cons: Need a reservation

Beware of 20% gratuity for takeout!

Good flavor foods, but few healthy choices.
Sadly, they ripped us off by charging a 20% gratuity for take out!

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Heavy use of processed foods

Looove it!

This is the second time we have enjoyed Monster Vegan around going to a show at the Miller Theatre or Academy of Music. Today we tried two mocktails and had the Parmesan Truffle fries with the General Tso’s Hoagie. Then the beignet sundae… plenty for two people!!

Pros: All vegan!!

Cons: None

Outstanding

We had a great server who was happy to explain the menu to us! The clams linguine was phenomenal! Caesar dressing was some of the best I have ever had. Will absolutely be back. Worth every penny.

Pros: Great service

Excellent Food & Vibes

Monster Vegan has a great lounge type atmosphere that doesn’t really fit the aesthetic of horror film, but it’s a really comfortable setting for brunch with friends. The food is the real star of the show, with everything I tried being a stellar example of simple vegan eats with a flavor punch.

The Argento in particular was slamming, with The Bava not far behind. Two very diff sandwiches but super tasty and includes many home made sauces and prep that makes it worth buying here instead of creating at home. The fries and General Tso’s wings were also a hit we didn’t leave behind. All around great eats, vibes, and friendly service. I’d totally eat here again.

Fun monster theme!

Not many gluten free options, but that's ok because they offer gf pasta and the pasta pesto was so delicious! Fun cocktails, too!

Broccoli Rabe sandwich had a huge fresh crunch roll. DELICIOUS! Gooey. The seitan wings were crunchy and the sauce not overly sweet - huge portion. Music was quirky and not too loud for conversing.
A screen with nostalgic horror scenes made it a fun experience. Highly recommend!!

Horror Themed

Great experience from walking in the door to the check at the end of the night. Our server was amazing. We had two gluten free friends in our group and they made them feel comfortable and accommodated. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was so fun🧛🏻‍♀️🧟‍♀️☠️ The variety of choices for Mocktails was so refreshing to see💜

Monster vegan

Visited with my husband for the first time yesterday. My husband got the general tsos wings, which he loved, and the cheesesteak which was meh. I ordered the Caesar salad, mac and cheese balls and pretzels. The salad was very good and the pretzel was so buttery and salty! The cheese sauce that comes with it was also really good. I wasn't a fan of the Mac and cheese balls tho 😕.

Pros: All vegan, Lots of options

Delicious food

We went here on a Friday night and it was great! We had reservations, but it still wasn't too busy. There is a parking area less than a block away. Service was friendly and quick. Only complaint was I wish the food was hotter temperature wise, but it was still so good! I can't wait to go back.

first of all the Ambiente with the horror-movies shown is a great experience! The staff is absolutely lovely and the food was delicious. I can definitely recommend the cheessteak. The non-alcoholic drink was small but very good.

Pros: Amazing food, Special experience

Cons: Pricy

Swanky and above my expectations

I thought this place was going to be like a pizza joint- it was not.

I walked in and there was a nice bar area and a bunch of tables. I was wondering how the "Monster" part of the name was going to influence the decor. The decor was nice. It was not a dim place with a Bunch of Halloween stuff strewn about. It was done in a tasteful way.

We walked in and were seated during dinner time and the place is loud. The noise level dropped about an hour later as people left and the place had less than half of the people that were originally there.

The food was great. The Seitan wings were good and plentiful. I went during Restaurant Week in Philadelphia and ordered the four course meal for $40. I had the ricotta with olive oil and toast. It was delicious.
The second course was Calamari with cous-cous. That was a lightly fried 'calamari' over a bed of cous-cous, again it was delicious.
The main entree was a sandwich of lightly fried seitan. My only complaint about this was that it was a five- six inch sandwich. I think $10 was a little much for just a five-six inch sandwich.
The final course was an Oreo beignet w/vanilla ice cream and chocolate drizzle- again, delicious. I also had a bit of the Mac-cheese ball in marinara sauce, a bite of the chicken sandwich, taste of the clam chowder, and a bite of the bread pudding. All of it was good.

Along with the food selection is a selection of Horror titled drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I had a taste of two of the alcoholic mixed drinks and they both were good.

The closest parking is about 250 feet away down the street. The price for parking during the week day was about $20 which is not bad for downtown Philly.

Pros: Great Food, Great decor, Varied Menu- all vegan

Cons: Noisy when 3/4 full, A little pricy, Probably have to pay for parking

Best vegan restaurant in the area for homestyle food (especially pasta)

The vibe at this place is fun and quirky, and the food is amazing. We had some cute and quite potent drinks: trick and tiki drink and some kind of tequila sunrise. The Bavarian pretzel starter was incredibly buttery and had great horseradish dip, and the chik’n banh mi and truffle pasta entrees were to die for. Dessert was fried Oreo sundaes. All of the food was amazing. This is a must go for anybody, vegan or not. The cherry on top was the wonderful attentive waitress who definitely matched the vibes of the restaurant. The theme is definitely fun, even hitting this place up for happy hour is a win. If I’m being really honest, instead of vying for a spot for fine dining at Vedge, make a reservation here. They’ve got some very similar menu items, so getting dipping pretzels and noodles kind of kick Vedge’s ass. Unless you wanna be fancy. You do you.

Pros: Everything

Great - even with limited brunch menu

All the things I wanted (fried Mac and cheese, fettuccine Alfredo, the Argento sandwich) weren’t available on Sunday, which was the only day I was able to go during my trip to Philly. That said, the white sangria was delicious for $8 (and not very sweet) and the chicken banh mi was great. The bread and chicken were both really top notch, so I imagine any of their sandwiches would be winners. The atmosphere was a little nicer than I expected given the theme, but still comfy enough. Hopefully next time I’m in town I can make it to happy hour!

Best cheese steak!

Every time I’m in Philly I want to try a cheese steak and this one is now my favorite! The atmosphere was also really cool and we were there on Halloween weekend by chance, which made it even cooler. The drinks all had spooky names too. Must try if in the area!

Pros: Cheesesteak, Atmosphere , Drinks
