Most Amazing Indian Food - Edit
This is the best Indian food I've ever had! The food is amazing, the restaurant is cute, and the staff are wonderful. The owners are so sweet, and very clearly care about their food and customers. The vegan tikka masala is a must, as well as the vegan mango lassi. Their food may seem spendy, but matches the average Portland restaurant price, and many of their ingredients are organic/local.

This has quickly become a favorite place in town. The vegan Indian options in PDX can be frustrating and bland but this place is changing all of that! The cheesy vegan Naan is so good I could just eat that forever. Add the mushroom biryani and a curry and you have a mouth-gasm in the making

Good meal - Edit
My husband and I ate here July 9th after along day at teh hospital with my son. I had the mild bean soup dish, can't recall what it was called but it was said to be cleansing. Husband had the Chana Masala. We enjoyed everything.

What a great place--the decor, the vibe, the service, the food--spot on! One of the owners was behind the bar welcoming people as they came in. She was warm and friendly. I would have given this restaurant 5 stars if the entire menu was vegan. I will definitely go back if I have the opportunity.

Finally an Indian restaurant that goes the extra mile to cater to vegans, and the food is absolutely delicious to boot! I don't have to ask if they cook with ghee or vegetable oil, if there's cream or yogurt in a dish, if they put butter on flatbreads for serving, etc because everything is well-labeled on the menu. Vegan tikka masala? Vegan garlic naan? Yaaaaass! The only thing I thought could be improved was the baingan bharta. As tasty as it was, it lacked that charred, smoky flavor that defines this dish.

I ordered the Vegetable Biriyani with mango chutney and a side of Vegan butter Naan. Having lived in SE India I have a keen sense for authentic dishes. And... Honestly, this was the best tasting meal I’ve ever had. Ever. Anywhere. This was the first time food has ever threatened to bring a tear of joy to my eye.

I love Indian food and I love restaurants that leave you feeling like you learned something. Maruti is a family run Indian restaurant that boasts a great atmosphere and a very welcoming staff. Always a great experience. Our kids love it too!

Genuinely my favorite Indian restaurant in all of Portland! My favorite drink on the planet is served here (Smitten with Rain). I almost always get the vegan tikka and biryani and naan. I seriously cannot get enough. They also have a lovely, knowledgeable and efficient staff. This is for sure my happy place.

I have been eating at Indian restaurants the world over (including in India) since 1982 and this is my favorite of all time. The spices are absolutely unbelievable and it is a completely vegetarian/vegan restaurant. Do not pass up a chance to eat here!
