Excellent! - Edit
I was a fan of the old Henderson’s that closed but this new version is beautiful and very clean. The vibe is cool but very different from the previous one. The food was delicious! New menu, new vibe, new look. I can’t wait to return again!

Outstanding - Edit
We visited Henderson's twice during a four-day stay in Edinburgh because it was so good. The range of food options was excellent, and everything was perfectly cooked. The service was warm, friendly and prompt. Would recommend to anyone, but especially vegetarians and vegans

Mixed feelings - Edit
Had been keen to go to Henderson’s for some time, we loved some of the dishes: the humous was great and the salads were nice. However the sticky toffee pudding was more of a ginger cake and very dry and the haggis wasn’t the most flavourful I’ve had. Service was great and the Bloody Mary was delicious!!

The food is ok and very well presented, but the vegan desserts are really nice. It's a bit expensive. The place is really nice with cool decoration.

Great haggis - Edit
Really enjoyed our vegan haggis, neeps and tatties, as well as the sharing nibbles board (the sun-dried tomato and tarragon hummus was outstanding!). Only complaint was a lack of green veggies! It was a little on the pricey side but would recommend if visiting Edinburgh.

A must visit, just wow! - Edit
First of all the lady from front of house was welcoming and attentive. Promptly doing check backs and ensuring everything was going well. She told us that everything was homemade and fresh.
Read moreWe ordered the baked camembert with figs and the pan seared king oyster mushrooms.
The oyster mushroom dish was beautifully presented, had a mild and earthy taste and lovely cubes of smoked tofu. The Camembert and fig with the bread provided was nice. The seeded sourdough bread had two dips, a garlic honey one and an olive oil infused with thyme.
For mains we had the Haggis and Risotto. The Haggis tasted as good as it looked. Had a swede and potato base with the grains at the top with caramelised onions. Everything combined with the cream sauce was delicious. The Risotto wasn't over powering with the blue cheese but it gave a rich and creamy flavour, delicious.
We didn't have time for desert and were only visiting Edinburgh for a few days. But I envy the locals having such an amazing place within their city. If you're in the area, even passing through, give this place a go. You wont regret it!
Pros: Delicious
Cons: Pricy, but that's the cost of quality!

Has to be Haggis… - Edit
The reputation. Then you try it and it is way ahead of the ‘v’ gloop prepared by meat haggis makers.

New location - but hasn't forgotten its roots! - Edit
I was gutted when the original Hendersons fell victim to the COVID-19 pandemic. But they have risen like a phoenix from the ashes in this lovely new location, and it is wonderful. I am sure even the owners would admit the old Salad Bar location on Hanover Street was a bit tired looking, but this new restaurant looks fresh while still keeping to the old Hendersons aesthetic.
Read moreI had their haggis, neeps and tatties and it is just how a remembered. A lovely warm stack of comforting and wholesome stodge, it was just what the doctor ordered. The menu also boasts lots of tempting vegan-friendly desserts. I had the poached pear, but I must admit I was eyeing up my dining companion's brownie as well!
Lovely meal. New look, new location, but still a must-visit for any veggie in Edinburgh.

Great new restaurant - Edit
Very nice food in lovely surroundings. Most of the menu is vegan and vegan wines clearly marked. It’s new, so there are a bound to be a few teething problems. Overall, very nice and decent value.
