Excellent meal out. - Edit
Very good venue, wonderful food and friendly, attentive staff. This place now has more vegan options, all of which were excellent. The haggis, which other reviews have raved about, was the only thing I thought a bit bland.
Read moreThe music, which was varied but contains much beat-ridden noodling, could have been turned down a notch.
Some reviews of Bann's have said that Henderson's is much better. IMO they are both equally fantastic places for vegans to eat with their own distinct styles of preparation. Edinburgh deserves them both.
Pros: Food, Staff
Cons: Turn the music down (a bit)

Surprising and delicious - Edit
I feel you can’t really imagine how the plates are gonna be when reading the menu. I was happily surprised when I got what I ordered. The food was really good, especially the Biscoff Cheesecake. We ordered to share and it was a mistake because of how good it was.

Fresh ingredients taste great! - Edit
Many of the dishes can be made vegan. We enjoyed the haggis and celeriac mains. The soup of the day was squash soup and it was amazing. Delicious food for plant-based meals!

We had the mushroom soup which was amazing with a nice tarragon flavoring. Also the mushroom scallops, the cauliflower bites, and the caponata. All was delicious.

Heerlijk vegan gegeten. Haggis was wel een top gerecht op het menu! Maar andere gerechten zagen er ook super goed uit. Aanrader om hier te eten! Bediening was top en vriendelijk. Heerlijke cocktails gedronken

Try the Haggis - Edit
This was our first big dinner in Scotland and oh my gosh - we were not disappointed. We shared everything and left so satisfied. Haggis was SO good, and i’m still drooling over the biscoff cheesecake. Our server was so kind and answered all of our questions. Book ahead!

Went for lunch deal and died for biscoff cheesecake 😋 - Edit
Nice restaurant a bit off all the tourist attractions a little walk up the hill, but the way was clearly worth it.
Read moreWe had as lunch deal some very hearty Mac‘n Cheese and from the menu the Vegan Haggis. Both very delicious! Friendly staff was attentive and convinced us to try the Vegan Biscoff Cheesecake… and it was a dream: creamy texture of the cheese but the highlight was the melted biscoff on top.
Overall a bit pricier than a lunch should be, but we think it was clearly worth it.
Pros: Almost everything is vegan , Lots of Mocktails available

Twist on Scottish dishes - Edit
We tried the vegetarian version of the Scottish “haggis”. Very nice. The starters were also good but not top notch as the main dish.

Lovely fine dining in Edinburgh - Edit
The most amazing place we discovered in Edinburgh! Classy fine dining is just what we needed when we landed. Lovely tasty dishes, wide selection available for vegans and vegetarians. We ordered too much but managed to devour every little bit! Thank you.

Such good food - Edit
I had the vegan haggis and we split the special (some sort of crunchy cauliflower thing it was really nice). I've never had normal haggis so I can't tell you how it compares but I really liked it. The cocktails were lovely, had a really good range. Nice vibes too I really liked the feel of the place.

If I lived near this restaurant, I'd go broke - Edit
Wow. I had the haggis and I thought I would be similar to the rather tasteless patties I'd had elsewhere in the morning but no this was good enough to inspire poetry. I also got a side of the broccoli and seitan which was one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. I can only assume the rest of the menu is as inspiring.

Lovely setting - will be back - Edit
Lovely setting and very friendly staff. The food was all very delicious. However, I felt very sick after and ended up vomiting once I got home (very unusual for me, hadn't vomited for over a decade before!). I'd really love to go again and I hope that was just a one-off "me issue" rather than the restaurant. We had the starter platter (hummus was amazing), shared haggis and the salads, and chips. My partner had the banana blossom but none of us were keen on that. I'd like to go back to try the £10 lunch deal with the macaroni cheese.

Food and service was too notch - Edit
Service was excellent, polite and attentive but not obtrusive. Food was delicious - we had a sharing nibbles board for starter with nuts, olive, some bread, and a hummus and butter bean dip (both delicious) - we asked for extra bread for this and this was given at no extra charge. For mains, I had the beet bourguignon pie- it was so flavoursome and the pastry was nice and light. My husband had the haggis neeps and tatties and thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely be back here again! It was ideal for a special occasion meal.

Nice but expensive - Edit
This is probably the most expensive restaurant I've been to in Edinburgh. The food was nice, and probably worth the price, but I think I won't go there again because of the prices. They also added an optional tips to the bill which I thought was a bit sneaky.

Cheesecake for the stars ✨ - Edit
Ok, so I came here seeking vegan haggis, which I’d been too scared to try when I last visited as a teenager. However, the server convinced me to try their lunch special, which was a selection of salads and soups. And then I had to have this caramel cheesecake — I was initially suspicious (see my previous comments on vegan cheese), but the creaminess and sweetness was absolutely divine.
