Fabulous taste!

Highly recommended. The food is very, very good and full of flavor. The portions are a bit small and prices are on the higher end but it is worth it. I recommend ravioli and Oreo cake.

Pros: Fantastic food, Full of taste, Friendly staff

Cons: Quite expensive , Small portions

Amazing

Went with my non-vegan friend and we both loved it. I got the crispy tofu burger and sweet potato fries and she got the minimal burger and sweet potato fries. Good price and nice staff, would definitely recommend.

Pros: Lots of options, Helpful Staff

Cons: Service was a little slow

Anthony Bourdain would have changed his mind about vegan food if he'd eaten here.

My husband and I are from NY but ate here, on a trip to Lisbon, in March. Although my husband is not a vegan, we were BOTH blown away by the quality of the food we received at Ao 26. I truly couldn't help thinking, had Anthony Bourdain (renowned chef and world food traveller but disrespecter of vegans), had one sampling of an Ao 26 dish, he surely would have changed his mind. (RIP AB).

Watching the chef create masterpieces, one after another, was like watching art being conceived before our eyes. We are still remembering fondly, the joy of our favorite meal, in Lisbon.

We LOVED the cheese board for starters. Then we shared our entrees: the big town cheeseburger and a seitan roast with potato rounds. There was so much flavor and satisfaction in every bite! The ravioi dish and the chef's special of the day, a puffed pastry creation, heading to other tables, looked mouthwateringly delicious, as well.

We finished with the oreo peanut chocolate pie to-go and are dreaming of it still, long after our last lingering bite.

Thank you, Ao 26! Would love to visit Lisbon again just to have another fantastic meal there! Tu es incrível!

Pros: excellent gourmet quality food, reasonable prices, friendly, professional staff

Good place

I liked the place very much, lots of options makes it hard to choose but amazing experience although i was a bit grossed out as one of the guy working in the kitchen making the plate was touching his phone with his gloves on and even blew his nose with his gloves on and carried on like nothing happened...

Hello Alma, sorry for the inconvenience we talked with our staff and we can't tolerate those human mistakes. Sometimes minds wonder out of the kitchen! But we love our team and everyday we work to improve our service, thank you for your feedback!

Traditional food with a vegan twist

Great starter of Bachlhau and sharing plate.
Franchesinha for main course was excellent and a surprise as we didn’t know what to expect, not knowing much about Portuguese food before hand
Ravioli was nice but a bit too buttery for my taste

Reformed omnivore turns out great vegan food

In general vegan food that imitates meat or cheese disappoints me. This restaurant features some important exceptions. The "cheese and sausage" board was amazing. The cheeses are aged and sharp, each different from the others. A starter including squid, octopus and tuna was also interesteing, although the squid was better than the other two items. Main course of scallops was really scallop-like and was arftully presented. The Seitan pork roast was good enough to fool a carnivore.

Pros: Excellent food, evocative of no vegan dishes

Cons: a bit hard to find, super crowded; make a reservation

Amazing

I don't know how anyone is giving this place less than 5 stars. Food was divine and the staff we're lovely!!! We went there twice, once for Lunch and the other Dinner (If you go for dinner you need to book!)
Yummiest food and everything was home made!

Pros: The most delicious oreo peanut cake, Easy to find, Clean and friendly

Cons: Booking in advance

Hot wet patty

This has plenty of great reviews, and I do not like to leave fairly negative reviews unless necessary. However, I can only comment on the burgers- but these were bland, over moist, lacking in flavour entirely (the two burgers could have been interchangeable despite being completely different ingredients). Sweet potato fries were okay. The mayonnaise they came with was the meal’s high point, but needed a bucket of it to make the burgers taste acceptable and there was barely enough to cover the chips. Perhaps the rest of their menu is much better? But on this visit I would be hesitant to recommend.

Pros: Mayonnaise

Cons: Burgers , No flavour

Plant based and fancy

A small, cosy and busy plant based restaurant with English translated menus available.
They offered a Soup and 4 Burger options and Main Meal board with 2 options available.
We chose a burger and a Main meal and both were superb 👌
Pricing was average at €8 a meal, service was swift and friendly and the atmosphere relaxed, chatty and nice 😁

Pros: Small but varied menu, translated to English

Cons: A bit noisy, so maybe not suitable for people wit

Food is good. Desserts are great!

Came here for dinner and thought the food was quite good. They don’t have any real dinner entrees, but the simple sandwiches and other options are quite tasty. Then we got dessert.

COME HERE FOR DESSERT.

(Get the Oreo peanut butter chocolate pie.)

Pros: Reasonably priced , Amazing desserts, Friendly service

Cons: No dinner entree options

Food can either be great or tasteless

I've been in the restaurant several times, and I've found there's no consistency in the food quality: you can either be serve a great tasty meal, or a tasteless dish. Service is terrible: not that the waitresses are rude or anything, but they forget about you constantly and don't even look at your table while walking around! So ordering or getting their attention can be challenging, and it's not because they have a lot of work to deal with, I found they're just slow. I haven't been there since September 2018, so maybe that has changed in the meantime.

Pros: Good price, Good food, Good location

Cons: Food sometimes tasteless, Slow service, Inattentive waitresses

Delicious

Absolutely delicious food. We had seitan steak with mushroom sauce with sweet potato fries and a fresh salad. Everything was very flavourful, the steak had a nice texture, the mushroom sauce was extra creamy and had big chunks of mushrooms in it; the fries were wide cut and they were so good I could eat them forever; the salad was super fresh and delicious. The portion was big and the presentation lovely. Great staff, nice decor and very pleasant atmosphere. If I'm in Lisbon again I will definitely go to Ao26 again😄

Pros: Food, Staff, Atmosphere

A must visit!

An absolute must visit whilst staying in Lisbon! Amazing food, good quality. My partner and me made the effort to come back here twice it was so good! They have different things on their specials board almost daily, and the flavours they put on display in their meals certainly does not disappoint. Highly recommend!

Pros: Staff are accomodating , our favourite food place in Lisbon! , Fully vegan!

Great deserts, food so-so

We ate lunch here and I found the selection disappointing (I believe the menu at the door did not say that most dished are not available at lunch), the main dishes were OK, nothing special but the chocolate desserts were really good.

The best vegan restaurant in Lisbon

Ao26 is my absolute favourite restaurant because every single item on their menu is delicious. I've been there too many times to even count and the experience was consistently great. The staff is nice, the food is amazing and the space is really welcoming. Anyone thinking of going there should definitely make a reservation, as they seem to get fully booked for the week super fast. If there are no tables available, I'm pretty sure it's also possible to order as takeaway.

Pros: The oreo and peanut butter pie, Great food

Best place in Lisbon

By far the best vegan place in Lisbon. Try the sweet potato fries and homemade vegan mayo. Oh, and the soups are also the best in the city. If you’re gluten-free as well, this is the place to go

Pros: Gf options , Big portions , Friendly, helpful staff

Cons: Not open Sundays , So popular you need to make sure you book

Best vegan food in Lisbon

Amazing food, atmosphere and staff.
Having tried other places in Lisbon - this is the only one that had good vegan food.

Tried the seitan, some snacks and crem brule. Drank craft beer.

Seitan came with bread - like a burger. Recommend ordering some snacka and side dishes.
