Great vegan spot - Edit
We walked in and although they were about to have all of the tables reserved, they allowed us to sit at a table.

Amazing flavours - Edit
We had to wait 15 minutes for a table at lunch but that was ok. I ordered the burger with vegan cheese. It was tasty but I wished I’d ordered the sweet potato fries with it as I saw others do! It looked like a generous serve. The best was the dish my partner ordered was the sweet potato with adzuki beans. I’d love to know how they made it as it has the best taste. I also ordered the peanut butter, Oreo and chocolate tart. The dessert was great. I’d recommend this restaurant.

On a Thursday evening the restaurant was packed, it's quite small. We had booked, this doesn't seem to be possible on a Saturday.

Must be there! - Edit
Together with my boyfriend, we added this płace to the list of our favourite vegan restaurants we have ever been💗i can’t find any downside! First of all, delicious food. Big portions, healthy options (gf lasagne won everything 3), cosy atmosphere, really nice, profesional and helpful staff. One little disadvantage can be less space than needed, so many people are doing reservations and you can have problem with finding a seat. We also ate oreo-peanut butter cake, that’s in regular menu, and I was in heaven😄Highly recommend, must be when visiting Lisbon!

Great food - Edit
Tried this place a couple of times and the second was much better than the first! Would definitely recommend getting the meal of the day over one of the sandwiches as the price difference isn’t much and the sandwiches are quite small but still tasty. Even better if you get it with a yummy soup. Come early or make a reservation as it gets busy!

5*! - Edit
We arrived without a reservation and were lucky for a delay; it's a restaurant where the reservation is required - or, at least, highly recommend. We ordered two soup and two dishes of the day and they were both delicious: super well seasoned and well served!
Read moreI ordered the soup of the day (which I can not remember what it was) and a burger. The highlight of the 26 Vegan Food Project is the sweet potato chips ... the best chips that I've ever eaten!

Amazingly delicious dishes and very nice atmosphere - Edit
First of all: it's an entirely vegan restaurant. Everything is vegan so you can just choose anything you want. They make really delicious burgers and sweet potato fries with vegan mayo. Ao26 offers wine and beer as well. The location is great and the place itself is very nice. It's a popular restaurant so a reservation is recommended.

You'd better make reservation because the restaurant has only few tables but is full very fast! And you understand why after trying the soup!!!

Nice restaurant - Edit
I had a decent cheese sandwich and split sweet potato fries. Cappuccino was excellent. They were out of the soup and main dishes when we went around 4pm which was disappointing, but overall a nice experience!

Paving the way for vegan restaurateurs - Edit
I was very impressed by Ao 26. Firstly me and my company arrived very late without having booked a table and although the kitchen was going to close in 30 mins they offered us a table that became free. Great service! All of the waiting staff were friendly, attentive and spoke excellent English.
Read moreI opted for the vegan Francesinha as I felt it would be fun to try a traditional dish. It was a generous portion of different kinds of veggie meat in cheesy bread which sat in a kind of tomato soup. Very tasty and filling! It came with home made potato crisps served with herbs and sea salt. My company had the walnut risotto which was delicious!
The interior is stylish and modern but with a warm, inviting feeling. This is a forward-thinking, passionate restaurant which is serious about its food. I would love for something similar to open in Stockholm where there are mostly cafés and buffet style restaurants.
It is definitely recommended to book well ahead as they are packed every night! I'm so glad we were lucky enough to get a table by chance.
Pros: Great food, lots to choose from, beautiful interior, friendly staff
Cons: One needs to book in advance

A vegan MUST for Lisbon - Edit
This place is AMAZING 😍 meat eaters and vegetarian friend said it was all good! We had the seitan burgers and lentil burgers with sweet potato fries and vegan mayo - all absolutely delicious. The desserts (crème brûlée - I know?!?! - and peanut butter Oreo pie) were both heaven. Also huge fan of the local beers😄- I’d love some traditional Portuguese options on the menu perhaps (suggestion not a complaint!)

Great lovely staff who were really helpful in recocomendations. Went there everyday for three days straight because it was so good. Told some non vegan friends to go and they were equally amazed with the quality and taste. The desserts are also unreal, so good!

THE place to eat vegan food in Lisbon - Edit
This is by far my favourite restaurant in Lisbon. I always make a point of eating there when I am in town.
Read moreFood is beyond superb, the staff is friendly and the only negative is really that the demand far outstrips supply. Reservations are a must if you really don't want to wait at the door for a good while.

Pros: Orgasmic food, Great environment, very friendly staff
Cons: Not easy to park nearby, Very busy (thankfully!) so must book ahead
