Tasty food but quite expensive - Edit
The food was really really good but we actually expected a bit more for the money.
Read moreAs main we had the „Francesinha which was quite good. Our starter (Sohno de uma notte de Verão) was super fancy, so for sure the portions are a bit smaller… but in general it could be a bit more food.

I had the ceasar salad and it was delicious and super flavourful. My partner had the salad with granny Smith and it was mind blowing. The staff was very friendly and i would definitely recommend this place!

Tasty - Edit
Their octopuses salad and fried cattlefish were amazing. We also enjoyed francesinha, I cannot compare with the original one, but this was pretty good.

Merci - Edit
Merci.

Tasty vegan Portuguese dishes - Edit
Delicious food in a nice restaurant environment. Loved the vegan pork dish but the francesinha was a little l cold in the middle which was a little strange. Otherwise really good though and certainly worth a visit!

Really good food! - Edit
The starters are amazing, especially the fried "fish" bits made from mushrooms with wasabi sauce (not too spicy at all!), and also the brie cheese starter! The main dishes are also good. I wasn't too impressed about the tofu fish but then the vegan bifana was delicious.

Culinary project I would visit again with friends - Edit
Interesting and versatile menu (also for drinks!). I tried the Sardines as a starter, and I loved how they didn’t try to mimic the taste but did capture the spirit of the dish (with a little twist).
Read moreLovely artsy interior. Nice staff. Not the most affordable option in town but definitely worth it.
Only downside is that they brought my main dish the second I put down my fork of my starter. So if you would like to take it slow (which I do) maybe ask the staff to wait a bit.

Do believe the hype......fabulous. - Edit
Visiting Lisbon for a couple of days for Champions League football, most of my party went to the Timeout market but vegan options were very limited. So ventured off to Ao26, lovely little place and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. There is a fully translated menu available. I had the black rice burger and a local craft beer (followed by a cheeky whisky before the game).
Read moreBurger was delicious, and came with spinach, barbecue sauce, red onion jelly, smoked tempeh, caramelised pineapple (I love pineapple on a burger!), sweet potato fries and homemade mayonnaise. At 14 euros, wasn't the cheapest but delicious and definitely worth the money.
So much so that I went back for lunch the next day. This time I had the '10 leaves' salad which was carrot and celery couscous under ten leaves, with cooked apple, courgette cannelloni filled with cream cheese pickled carrots, toasted hazelnuts and a vinaigrette. Again, absolutely delicious and a bit different. The cannelloni and the apple particularly.
Would definitely recommend to seek them out if you are in Lisbon. There is a website (not currently listed on this listing) which can be found here https://ao26vegan.eatbu.com/?lang=en
Pros: Thoughtful, delicious food, Welcoming staff
Cons: Only opens at 12.30pm, brunch would be awesome

Amazing food and very nice staff. Dishes resemble authentic Portuguese traditional dishes and taste extremely delicious - you won’t find it anywhere else and probably won’t be able to prepare similar food at home. Will definitely come back and recommend it highly!
