This vegan restaurant serves very interesting meals. The seitan is particularly good, also the tofu a lagareiro. For dessert I recomend the caramel peanut pie.

Best Vegan Dinner in Lisbon - Edit
We had some great vegan dining experiences in Portugal but AO 26 was our favorite. The place, the service, and the presentation are fine-dining-like but without pretension and the food itself is just excellent. When it was our last night in Lisbon there were a couple of veg restaurants we'd happily have returned to, but AO26 got both our votes. I particularly enjoyed the vegan cheese plate, the jackfruit ceviche, and vegan creme brulee, but everything we ate was just delicious and well executed.

The best place in Lisbon. - Edit
elegant and sophisticated vegan restaurant in the heart of the city. finely furnished, you feel welcome by the staff in this peaceful and pleasant place. great attention is given to the customer. the menu is very accurate and there are also dishes of the day based on the chef's imagination. we enjoyed an excellent selection of cheeses, chapatis and humus, ravioli with ricotta and seaweed tofu. The desserts are also delicious, try pampering children with coffee flavour. #Veganuary

Cool place - Edit
Came here for dinner and it was packed. Very fancy vibe. I got the ravioli and I personally found them a little lacking, could’ve used some lemon or some other type of acid. My friends got the vegan steak and the francesina (forgot how to spell it) and they liked their dishes but weren’t blown away.
Read moreMy friend also got the cucumber cocktail which I tried and it was extremely watered down - I wouldn’t be surprised to learn if there was no alcohol in it at all. It was literally cucumber water.
Desert was good! I got the orange crème brûlée.
We were seated right next to the host desk that I could literally touch their computer screen and grab menus without getting out of my seat, but that could’ve been out of accommodating as many guests as they could for a busy night. Overall a 3.5-4/5 experience, I’d say. Cool spot and ambiance.

Good but not spectacular - Edit
I love the vibe of this place. The outdoor waiting area is cute, and the decor of the restaurant is fancy. We got the sardines appetizer, the seitan steak, the bifana, and the traditional Portuguese cake. The appetizer was all right. The tofu tasted fishy, but the bread it was on was more of a cracker and made the dish kinda dry overall. The seitan steak was just okay. Definitely no replacement for an actual steak. The bifana was the star of the meal. It was tasty, and the sweet potato fries that came with it were delicious. I also enjoyed the dessert. I would come here again, but I wasn't overly impressed with the food. Maybe it was just what I got though.

We really enjoyed our dinner here at AO26.
Read moreThis is an upscale place that takes reservations. We went on a Thursday night with a reservation. There were no tables available for those without a reservation.
The appetizers and main dishes were very good. There is a pretty good selection of portugués style food and other foods like burgers.
Good wines and cocktail list.
The ambience was very nice, but the lighting was very bright. If the restaurant reads these, I would suggest turning down the lights a little.
I would eat here again if I return to Lisbon.
Pros: Good food, Good ambience, Server made good suggestions
Cons: Bright lights, Tight space, close to other tables

This is a very smart and trendy hipsterish place, with an interesting menu and friendly staff. The food impressed my meat-eating friend and I like that they brew their own kombuchas. Although I wasn’t blown away by the quality or flavours, I certainly enjoyed the food.
