Great quality vegan burger - Edit
A great quality vegan burger! We both had a Notorious burger with Frites uit Zuyd - tasty, saucy, juicy and fun with the black and pink buns. A generous portion for the fries. We ordered to collect through Uber Eats and the food was ready very quickly. Would have loved to try their other options.

One of Amsterdam’s Vegan Legends - Edit
Vegan Junk Food Bar will always be one of the OG spots serving actual good vegan junk food, with their own signature recipes. The classic kapsalon is always a must-order! I don’t go as often these days, but it’s always a "feestje" when I do, usually when friends from abroad are visiting. The vibe inside can get a bit loud, so I prefer coming in summer to sit outside on the terrace. It’s a shame the other branches have closed #rip, so I really hope the one at Marie Heinekenplein stays around for a long time. Even if I don’t visit as often as I used to, long live the VJFB, one I’ll never forget. ✌️

Third time visiting this restaurant, and I just love the atmosphere and menu. The new sharwarma wrap is so good but really spolit for choice and left feeling full and happ, which is partly down to the lovely cocktail options.

Go here for a vegan junk food option in Amsterdam. We were satisfied with the food although the onion rings seemed to be mostly batter and minimal onion. They make food look fun with all the brightly coloured sauces and buns. Maybe more gimmicky than actual value to the overall flavour but still a nice little spot if this is the type of meal you’re looking for.

Everything is in the name of the restaurant. You can find many kinds of fast food-inspired options but vegan, like chicken wings or burgers. Probably not the best for diet but nice for comfort food. It would be nice for vegetarians who still miss meat

The Sumo Platter is perfect if you want to try a bit of everything. We were glad to try the vegan bitterballen, but the real star was the vegan chicken wings — absolutely amazing! The sauces were delicious too. Great atmosphere with fun music. Can’t wait to come back and try the burgers next time!

The burgers were very delicious. The vegan cheese was very tasty but also not sticky at all. The fries were perfectly fried. Everything’s vegan so you don’t have to worry about ordering something wrong.

The spicy chicken bars as a starter were super tasty and crunchy, amazing!
We had a pink garlic sauce which sounded good, but did not really had a flavour at all, it was just cute looking. Also, the prices seemed high for us tho - so that this meal was a very delicious but pricy experience.

The vegan shawarma loaded fries and the one with „fish“ were amazing. I had a burger with blue cheese sauce and a chicken patty which came with fries. Everything tasted so delicious, it really makes you want to try everything on the menu. I went there with my non vegetarian family and they loved it as well

My partner had the loaded fries which came in a massive portion, plenty as a meal by itself.
Drinks are also excellent, with a good variety of soft drinks.
Slightly pricey, but the service was great and food arrived very quickly.

Investigation revealed that they didn't pay their Spanish employees for months, losing their rental flat as a result. Meanwhile the owner spent time in five star hotels in Dubai. They turned one of their restaurants into a meat one forcing staff to be silent about this.

The usual colourful (but tasty) food. Visited VJFB restaurants in Köln, Barcelona and another in Amsterdam (which I believe may all be closed now) and it's always been consistent. Lots of fun, very bright, good service. Good amount of outdoor space too.

the balls were decent - fried mac and cheese with little taste. nothing special.
also the curry wurst has nothing really to do with curry wurst. in austria/germany u get a sliced sausage, drenched in the typical sweet red sauce with pieces of onion and a criminal amount of curry powder. here they just used their own sauces and the curry taste wasnt that strong. dont get me wrong - its an AMAZING dish and very tasty! but dont expect something traditional. the sausage tastes very authentic as well
