Very nice! - Edit
Lovely space, Lovely staff and very nice vegan Osaka specialties. We were told that the place is another family style restaurant during the early hours (called Second Room Cafe) and then turns into Vegan & Gluten free Osaka - so it's best to Come for lunch / early ish dinner to avoid crowds.

Vegan Osaka classics - Edit
You can try an array of Osaka classics in this rather small restaurant. It is a really relaxing place. The staff are friendly but the service is indeed rather slow and the food is served one after another, when they finished making it, and not at the same time. This way you will definitely be spending an rather long time in the restaurant which can be good after an hectic day exploring Osaka.
Read moreThe food was freshly prepared and tasted good "like the original" how a local described it to me.
Pros: Vegan Osaka classics, Many options, Not overpriced
Cons: Slow service

My meat eater husband also enjoyed it! - Edit
We tried the okonomiyaki, karaage, gyoza, and takoyaki. All vegan and all gluten-free, so expect the batter to be different to usual versions. The takoyaki was such a genius version with the mushroom center! We both loved it. Lovely quiet environment. Shop number 14, check the map inside.
Read moreI just read some reviews and I think you need to know how hidden, quiet and simple this atmosphere is. Its great to have a really good conversation with someone. We came when it wasn't busy and the service was fast, so I guess it depends how many people are there at the time.

Temaki is a type of sushi that is rolled by hand into a cone shape. The word "temaki" is Japanese for "hand roll". Temaki sushi is traditional and ensures the seaweed has a fresh crunch.

It is even written in the menu that you roll it yourself and that the staff can assist you.

Thank you for explaining, Kelsey and Lulu. I understand it's just I wish they had a regular vegan sushi. The menu choices nor taste of the dishes my friend and I tried weren't great IMO unfortunately 😞

Vegan and gluten-free traditional dining experience - Edit
It was nice to find this in Umeda station, although a little bit difficult to find. Just know that this is in B1 of the station. If you are a walk-in diner, prepare to wait a while. For context, I arrived at 5:15, got in at 5:53, and left at 7:50.
Read moreMy first impression upon entering wasn't great as the front of the house just immediately advised to come back in 30 mins but did not take any of my details. I ended up having to wait that whole time plus a little bit longer at the entrance because I wasn't clear about the system. I saw groups of people leave but they still didn't let us get in until long after.
It was quite an experience to have a room to yourself for dinner. The food also took quite a while although for the okonomiyaki, they say on the menu that it will take 15 mins to make (I feel it took a little longer than this though). It was nice and substantial, and the salad was good. I had the chocolate cake for dessert. The sweetness was just right(not too overly sweet), but the cake was dry.
Pros: Good okonomiyaki, Traditional dining experience
Cons: slow service

Delicious food! - Edit
A great stop before getting a train due to the location. The food was tasty and I would recommend the okonomiyaki and the gyoza. You sit in a room with your shoes off. There’s televisions on too. Designed for families to enjoy with small children. It was a little hot due to no aircon being on.

Really enjoyed - Edit
I really enjoyed this place! It feels like an izakaya, although the room full of gaikokujin was very quiet for an izakaya type place lol.
Read moreI walked in on a Friday night and was seated immediately, but I was lucky because those who came after me had to wait a bit. It's a small place that's popular (especially among visitors, like me, who want to order everything on the menu) and understaffed, and the waitress was running around very busy to keep everything going. Service was inevitably a bit slow -- but not inattentive. The waitress was really nice and fun to talk to, mainly in Japanese as she didn't speak much English.
I loved being able to try different Osaka specialties, and made sure to enjoy the kushikatsu and takoyaki, which I'd never had before, so it was quite special in that sense. I eat okonomiyaki at home relatively often, but I also loved being able to eat it prepared in Osaka.
Make sure to order beer to complete the vibe. They also sell non-alcoholic Asahi, so most can partake!

Great to try local food - Edit
I wanted to try these items in Osaka and was glad to see a fully vegan cafe prepares them. We were sat in a small dining room and sat on the floor. We shared the kushikatsua (5 pieces) which were crumbed vegetables. They were all nice with the mushroom being the tastiest. I also had the takoyaki, 10 pieces. These were nice too. My partner had the Oronomiyaki which I thought was delicious. Nice staff and reasonably priced.

The Okonomiyaki and takoyaki were bothered pretty gpod, although you can tell they are using gluten free flour to make them as the texture is a little bit gummy.
