Awesome Food! - Edit
The food selection here was absolutely fantastic. I like Japanese food, specifically rolls, tempura and sushi. Being a completely Vegan restaurant, they have a vegan twist for all Japanese favourites. I would highly recommend this place even if you have to wait for an hour (we had to wait only for about 20 mins). This place was packed and yet they made accommodations to fit us in without having a reservation!

Favourite spot! - Edit
This is my favourite place we’ve visited whilst in Honolulu, and we made sure to come back a second time before flying home! Food is so well thought and and flavoured, and all presented beautifully. There are lots of gluten free options, and a really diverse and well balanced menu. Staff were all fantastic, so friendly and helpful.

My Wife and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary at this location .

While we had an okay waiter , we weren't the happiest because lets face it who wants to celebrate an intimate moment such as their anniversary sitting at the end of a sushi bar (where u cant even see the chef) watching waiters ring up orders all night....maybe some people but not us. We made a reservation and told them it was a special occasion, our 2 year anniversary, on the reservation, arrived 15 minutes early as well. We expressed to the hostess we didnt want to sit at the bar she explained to us that we had to reserve a table . I explained we did have a reservation but she broke it down to me that we had to call to reserve a table .
NO WHERE IS THAT LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE !! ALL it says is reserve a table THATS IT. Ontop of that there were 4 empty tables when she decided to sit us at the bar .
Needless to say we werent big fans of our experience . AT ALL . MY wife and I are huge foodies we love to go out to eat and try alot on the menu. Normally, we stay at a restaurant at least hour ordering and trying things including desserts, we never just order 1 thing on the menu. We try it all normally spending over $100+. We only ordered 1 thing each and something to share(WHICH WE NEVER DO) and left . She does reviews of restaurants on ig and this experience wasnt worth giving any praise about due to lack of communication . My wife does not want to come back.
however 1 thing i did like about the restaurant was the lady sitting next to us . and she was a customer . The customer told us happy anniversary but none of the workers did . and we put it on our reservation !!!!
the food was okay . we left hungry . we still tipped our waiter because its not his fault.
I do not recommend this restaurant .
Pros: Waiter was okay, We were sat on time , Waiters and waitresses had smiles the entire time
Cons: Lack of Communication, Not accommodating. Not even the manager , Food was just okay

My wife and I ate here 3 times while we were on the island- if they were open Sunday and Monday it probably would have been 5! The staff were fabulous - super friendly and very attentive. The food was incredible. The first night we sat at the bar and got to see the chef at work- what a treat! The folks who created this restaurant are amazing and the chef is a true artist. Everything we tried, we loved. My wife grew up eating Japanese food made by her grandma. When she tried the nasu, she said it tasted like childhood. That’s a huge compliment coming from her- and that’s how incredible this place is. When we celebrated my birthday there on Saturday, they brought a scoop of ice cream, sang just the last line of happy birthday (thank you for not dragging it out! 😂) and were so generous with their time and attention. Must go here if you are in the area. Thank you!!

This is my favorite vegan restaurant I’ve ever eaten at!!! Unbelievable food! Attention to detail, intricate flavors, and beautiful atmosphere! Sometimes the service is superb, but we did once have a waiter that was disappointing. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!

This place was so good! We had went to their sister restaurant in San Francisco called Shizen, and this was equally amazing. We tried so many items and all of them were great. They are closed Sunday and Monday. If you are a tourist, make sure you make a reservation well before you arrive.

Lovely, and lively ambiance great for a date night. The food was so, so good! We loved everything we tried, service was great and we are going back very soon! Delicious, unique, and a must visit restaurant destination. Our only complaint is that they don't have a Bay Area location in California!

Hands Down Best Restaurant on Island - Edit
We have had the opportunity to eat here 5 times and it’s hard to go anywhere else for dinner now. Everything on their menu is A (and we’ve sampled the entire menu) and the consistency of food and service is unbelievable. Definitely try it out! And easy parking!!

Everything from the food, to the menu design, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing. My family and I were blown away by the flavours and textures of all the dishes. We had to order some things twice because they were that good! Splurge at this restaurant because it is sooo worth it!! Get everything if you can😉

Happy cowing it here in Honolulu and I stumble upon this incredible place! This place is so good I was questioning whether it was better than traditional sushi I’ve had in the past. I’ll have to say YES! So happy the chef also has a vegan sushi place in San Francisco called Shizen...can’t wait to go!

Top 3 Vegan Meal I’ve ever had - Edit
This is exactly what vegans have been wanting! I’m all for crunchy plant-based spots, but we’ve been looking for a most upscale spot as well, with great drinks and a hip environment, and Tane fit the bill perfectly. My husband and I (both vegan) brought our omnivore teenager and she cleaned her plates. We tried the Tofu Poke Salad, the Gyoza, the Spicy Miso Garlic Ramen, the Croquettes, the Sweet Potato roll, the Philly roll, and the Wedge. No contest, the Wedge is the best vegan sushi roll I’ve ever tried. Not to be missed! The smoked tofu in the ramen is unreal- it’s the closest I’ve ever had to bacon. Our only regret was that they were sold out of dessert (we had a 9:00pm reservation). I have nothing negative to say. My husband and I are calling it The Unicorn. We can’t wait to come back!

Our favourite restaurant during our trip. Every dish was amazing. Manila Dune was our favourite (it has a lotus on top). Recommend booking a table as it gets busy at peak times.

We have eaten at the San Francisco sister restaurant several times. This Oahu location stands out because you can make reservations! Everything we ordered, and we did order a lot, was beautiful and delicious and satisfying! The service was excellent and everyone was super friendly and attentive! We are long-term, ethical vegans, and have access to this on vacation is amazing. Got a second reservation for the same week!
