Opened Feb 2018, relocated to new address Feb 2022, a social enterprise vegan restaurant that employs homeless people and people after leaving jail. Offers lunch menus, wide range of local vegan cuisine, fair-trade coffee, alcoholic drinks including local draught beer, vegan and gluten-free cakes and other desserts and last but not least a variety of high quality non-alcoholic alternatives. Open Mon-Wed 16:00-23:00, Thu-Fri 16:00-00:00, Sat 10:00-00:00, Sun 10:00-23:00. Kitchen closes every day at 10pm. BRUNCH 10:00-13:00 on weekends

Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

Very cool to try Czech food in vegan form. I had a soup and a plate of big filling dumplings, which were great but so wonderfully stodgy that they almost defeated me, and then a piece of chocolate cake with banana pieces and the thickest layer of cream ever. Highly recommend!

Went there around mid-day. Service was quick and friendly. Portion size was decent and everything I tasted (goulash, gnocchi, Schnitzel & potato salad) I liked. Must-eat when in Prague!

If you want to try Czech cuisine, this is the place to go - Edit
Nice and cosy place that is which employs people in need. Which means that in addition to good meal you will enjoy, you will also contribute to a good cause. I´ve tried ,,Bryndzové halušky". The portion was large and the taste same as I remember it from the time when I was not vegan. If you in a mood to try clasical czech cuisine I recommed this place for sure.

I love the concept of the place. The food is good, even though I think a bit more pricey if you are on a low budget.

The service is incredibly fast. I got the food right away and the personnel is very quick. I would have liked a bit more transparency about the lunch menu and how it is prepaid for a person in need. That didn't get clear from the menu and asking about the prices didn't give any options.

Die Bedienung konnte sehr gut Englisch sprechen und war sehr nett. Sogar meinem Omni Freund hat der Chilli Burger geschmeckt und ich fand das Gulasch auch sehr lecker. Zusätzlich hatte ich noch das Brot mit dem Eierdip, was ich auch empfehlen kann. Von außen sieht es nicht so gemütlich aus, aber drinnen ist es angenehm gestaltet und der Abstand der Tische ist super!

Das Lokal ist sehr urig gemütlich. Das Essen war sehr lecker, aber leider etwas kalt. Die hausgemachte Limonade ist ein Traum! Genauso wie der Kuchen. Service war sehr gut und die Preise in Ordnung. Würden wir auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

The place of my dreams - Edit
Seriously, this restaurant is my absolute favorite here in Prague! I love the look and feel of an original, cozy tavern, but it's so much more than that. They serve really compelling traditional Czech dishes - all vegan, of course. As if that wasn't enough to make it a fantastic vegan restaurant, they're also socially conscious with a touch of working class romance. Guys, I didn't think a place like this existed. Thank you!
