Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

Great food and good mission - Edit
A good mission and like the way they employ former homeless people and inmates. They serve vegan versions of traditional Czech food which all tasted very good

Nice atmosphere - Edit
Paid a visit here to try some traditional Czech food. Unfortunately for me I found the food very rich and heavy but obviously this is a personal thing and the dishes looked very authentic. I liked the fried cheese the most. The restaurant is pretty big with lots of seating. They have books and board games for customers which was fun. The staff were friendly, however they didn't seem to pay attention to each other as we were asked three times if we wanted to order, twice after we had ordered. Hope to go back here and try some of the international cuisine as I really liked the vibe of the place.

Good ethos, average food - Edit
Staff were super lovely and the restaurant has a lovely ethos but the food was only ok. I had the goulash which was too rich and my husband had the ribs which he liked but i thought they just tasted like bread. chips were good though.

Not a bad place - Edit
Not a bad place — the fried cheese was tasty, but nothing special. The interior isn’t really my style, but the service was good.

Great local food - Edit
It’s great to be able to try local cuisine. I had the goulash and my partner the schnitzel. The schnitzel had a great texture and very well seasoned, comes with a potato salad that’s also good. Goulash has quite a strong flavor, so whilst it wasn’t my favorite it was still good and I’m glad I got to try it. Server was nice too and the restaurant supports a great cause.

Czech vegan food - Edit
Czech food was good and plentiful. The fried vegan cheese was something I hadn’t seen elsewhere so worth a try but I wouldn’t go for it again… would stick with some other goulash or something with dumplings. The red cabbage and dumplings was good - plenty if it!

The service was ok, nothing to shout about. Wasn’t a warm welcome, forgot to give us menus and had to keep trying to get attention even when it wasn’t busy. There’s better places to try - see my other Prague reviews for some amazing food and experiences. If you want to go be sure to book online as it can get busy here.
Pros: Big portions of Czech food
Cons: Service was disinterested

Perfect - Edit
The food is so good! It‘s so sad when you want to experience the regional cuisine, but can‘t because there are no vegan options. That‘s why I was so happy to Discover this Restaurant! The food was sooo good, the Service was very friendly and we were very happy with our visit!

Authentic Czech food made vegan - Edit
Střecha was the first restaurant we visited when arriving in Prague, a little bit of a walk out of the main areas of the centre but the food was really good! Very authentic and completely vegan! It was nice to be able to eat common dishes without the animal products! Myself and my husband had a different variation of pate for our starters, I then had goulash for my main and my husband had the halusky. Definitely a recommended spot!

Lunch stop - Edit
Headed to Strecha on the app recommendations. The cafe has a cool vibe and felt calm. The ethos is fantastic. The limited lunch menu consists of a soup and one of two mains. When they are gone they are gone. My son and I tried both mains between us and the food was nice. The service was excellent as well. Great value for money too. I would recommend a visit.

Delicious food, cosy atmosphere - Edit
Did you ever had the (one) chance to invite non-vegan friends to an all vegan place? That was yesterday. The “Budvar Gulash” we all had was really tasty, yet more a starter… my friends left hungry. Pity though, this was the perfect introduction.

Good and filling - Edit
Cosy beer hall type restaurant. The food is not fancy, but is good and filling. Had the tofu pâté as a starter. That was very nice and rustic. Main was seitan ribs with plum sauce and mustard dip. The ribs were very filling, a good choice if you need a protein hit. The dip was not very mustardy, otherwise fine.

Really not that good :( - Edit
Ordered the burger and goulash and we have found it generally disappointing when they use store bought sauces in burgers, especially ketchup, makes the whole experience cheap and basic and the buns were also dry and basic.

Nice authentic Czech cuisine - Edit
We tried Guláš and Svíčková, and as a Czech, I think they were pretty good and authentic, but they were not the best I’ve had in Prague. The price was fair.

Good traditional food - Edit
I had the bread with no-egg tofu spread, the goulash, and a lemonade. I really liked the tofu spread and fresh bread. The goulash was also really good, but a few of the ‘meat’ balls had a different texture to the soft ones (maybe over-fried or undercooked?). It was maybe a tad too salty. I ordered a raspberry & mint lemonade but it was actually a blueberry lemonade, not really an issue but still different to the menu. It was still a good experience overall and I would come back.

Die Knödel und die Soße vom Gulasch waren sehr lecker. Die Sojastücken da drin hatten verschiedene Konsistenzen. Mal weich, mal hart, mal kalt. Keine Ahnung wie sie das Gulasch zubereiten.
