Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

Teils Top / Teils Flop - Edit

What a lovely place, great to be able to have some traditional Czech food, vegan style. Generous portions and reasonable prices. Would definitely eat here again. I had the schnitzel with potato salad and my husband had the soya steak in vegetable sauce, both really tasty 😋

Great food and even better non alcoholic drinks!? - Edit
I think all the other food reviews speak for themselves. This is the place to get veganized Czech food. So I would like to highlight the great selection of alcohol free wine and cocktails.
Read moreThey offer red, white and sparkling alcohol free wine. I had the sparkling white wine which was very good.
My girlfriend ordered an alcohol free whiskey sour which did taste surprisingly well and like the real deal. They offer all the classic cocktails as alcohol free versions (Gin Tonic etc.)

A great restaurant in a beautiful part of the city - Edit
Střecha is the place to go to, if you want to experience traditional czech cuisine that normally heavily relies on animal products.
Read moreThe Schnitzel with potatoe salad tastes or the Svíčková were just like my grandma used to make and the filled dumplings (Knedlíky) are wonderful as well!
The prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. Go get yourself a glass of Kofola and enjoy what this wonderful restaurant has to offer!

Absolute Highlight - Edit
This was insanely great. Every dish we had tasted absolutely delicious portion was super filling. The No-Duck didn't really have an accurate texture but was very tasty nevertheless.

Coffee was very tasty too. Prices also very fair. Overall awesome experience and an absolute recommendation!

wow 🤩 - Edit
The food was absolutely outstanding — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal. The only thing that didn’t quite meet my expectations was the cake selection, which wasn’t to my taste. However, that’s a small point in an otherwise excellent dining experience.

The food was delicious and simple - the borscht and the two daily lunch special mains tasted so good, I forgot to take proper pictures. I really want to go there every day to try all the daily lunch specials.

Yummy food! - Edit
Really solid choice for a vegan meal - yummy food, good service and good prices. There was a little wait at the door for a table and then food/drinks but that’s was because the staff were run off their feet as the place was so busy.

Spoiled for choice - Edit
Prague is very good for vegans with many vegetarian and vegan restaurants, however many of the other options seem to keep it safe with more safe (but delicious) vegan options like burgers, falafel and other international food. Střecha goes out of their way to offer veganized traditional Czech food, which is something very unique and something so strongly appreciated when visiting a different country and wanting to try more of their traditional dishes.
Read moreTheir Czech “meat” brawn was delicious and unique, and their ribs were also fantastic.
My non vegan friends also had the ribs and the burger and they really enjoyed them.
Their portions are very generous and we did not have any space for their (incredibly looking) desserts.
Lastly, their staff is super friendly, and also happy to accommodate to English (as they clearly saw us struggling with Czech lol). Their menu is also offered in both languages. The restaurant social mission is also amazing so I would 100% recommend Střecha to anybody visiting Prague.

Delicious all vegan delights - Edit
I stopped here for a late lunch today. Fortunately, one of the specials was still available. I had the Tarhoña with chimichurri, mushrooms, white beans and arugula. Mine was served with tomato pesto soup which was delicious. Hubby had Schnitzels with potato salad. We ordered chocolate coconut pie to split. I also bought banana bread and a peanut butter brownie for later.

Traditional Czech plates to choose from. I was not hooked but it was also not bad. Food was a bit cold and the cake was not the freshest.

Don’t get the hype - Edit
Starting on a positive I cannot fault the staff, they were all super lovely and welcoming. Onto the food, they were out of the schnitzel and dumplings which was a shame but can’t be helped. So we opted for the garlic soup, pickled tofu, kebab plate and the halusky. The tofu was nice, however the garlic soup and the halusky had zero flavour, when adding salt and pepper that’s all you could taste, it was also quite a greasy dish. The kebab texture of the meat wasn’t the best and the flavours were a bit off. Real shame as after reading the reviews I was super excited but wouldn’t return based on the food and the price.

Great Place - Edit
Visited Prague on a rainy weekend and walked forever just to get to this place and it was worth it. Incredibly cozy atmosphere and a great selection of foods and drinks. I ordered the pickled tofu and the Kebab plate, both of which were really good. Portion size was also great and the service was really nice. If I could wish for one thing it would be some kind of sweet dessert on the menu.
