Opened Feb 2018, relocated to new address Feb 2022, a social enterprise vegan restaurant that employs homeless people and people after leaving jail. Offers lunch menus, wide range of local vegan cuisine, fair-trade coffee, alcoholic drinks including local draught beer, vegan and gluten-free cakes and other desserts and last but not least a variety of high quality non-alcoholic alternatives. Open Mon-Wed 16:00-23:00, Thu-Fri 16:00-00:00, Sat 10:00-00:00, Sun 10:00-23:00. Kitchen closes every day at 10pm. BRUNCH 10:00-13:00 on weekends

Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

Wir waren sechs Personen und haben die ersten 6 Hauptgerichte und die Pancake Vorspeise bestellt und alles geteilt. Der Ort war sauber, das Essen kam schnell und es war auch wirklich sehr lecker. Das Gulasch für einige etwas zu scharf, ich persönlich fand es am Besten. Viele hatten die Pilzschnitzel mit dem Kartoffelsalat und die Soy Sirloins als Favoriten.

Nice Vegan place with great ethics! - Edit
Střecha is one of those must visits when looking for vegan food in Prague. They have a great choice of vegan food and great drinks, as well as a big display of vegan desserts. Not only do they have great food.. they run with great ethics, they employ people that havent had the best start to life, whether homeless or having served time in prison, Střecha gives them a new look on life. They also have a "pending meal" system, where you can pay for a meal upfront for someone who needs a filling warm meal. Střecha is a large place and is often busy and loud. They have reasonable prices and they are also close to the National Theatre incase you need somewhere close to eat after a day out.

I chose Střecha to bring nonvegans who were open to try anything, but also wanted to try local cuisine.

The meals were so delicious. We shared a vegan cheese board, and I had the cabbage pancakes.
And a vegan hot chocolate? That’s hard to find! It was sweet and satisfying.
I only learned of the business model after reading a picture of the menu.

Amazing vegan czech Food - Edit
There were five of us, and we spontaneously decided to eat without a reservation. We were seated immediately and didn't have to wait long to be served. There was a very good selection of vegan Czech dishes. Our food was prepared quickly and was delicious.

Such a cute restaurant, loved the atmosphere there. The food was amazing and the homemade Limonade hits different. All in all 10/10 experiences. Maybe reserve a table before hand because they’re well attended.

Got to try pretty much the whole menu and it’s full of hits. The fried cheese and oyster mushrooms were the stars, plus the whiskey sour. Good service, great vegan versions of Czech food, well worth your trip.
