Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

Wasn't For Me - Edit
I'm not sure if it's a reflection of the restaurant, or of traditional Czech food in general...but I really didn't enjoy eating here. Staff was incredibly nice, and I loved the inside of the place, but I couldn't finish my food. The stuff in the jar I couldn't even eat. The Svickov was okay, but a major downgrade from the Svickov I had at Vegan's Prague. Even the tea was burned and bitter. I don't understand the hype, but maybe I got unlucky.

There is more to this place than just food though to be fair! They employ people who experienced homelessness or served a sentence, while helping them with debt, housing food and a bunch of other problems, so sometimes food isn't the best :)

Great food, great mind set - Edit
I was so happy to be able to try real vegan Czech cuisine. Food was very good, large portions. it was quite busy (recommend to make a reservation upfront) and service was very quick. A real nice touch: pay for lunch for someone else, definitely a place with great food and karma points 🙏

I just had a snack but the menu looks gorgeous.

The social mission of the place is a big plus and the place itself is charming.

You've got to try the no-egg dip. Amazing flavours of homemade lemonade (I had the matcha & grapefruit flavour). We were really full afterwards! Such friendly staff, too.

Teils Top / Teils Flop - Edit

Great food and even better non alcoholic drinks!? - Edit
I think all the other food reviews speak for themselves. This is the place to get veganized Czech food. So I would like to highlight the great selection of alcohol free wine and cocktails.
Read moreThey offer red, white and sparkling alcohol free wine. I had the sparkling white wine which was very good.
My girlfriend ordered an alcohol free whiskey sour which did taste surprisingly well and like the real deal. They offer all the classic cocktails as alcohol free versions (Gin Tonic etc.)

A great restaurant in a beautiful part of the city - Edit
Střecha is the place to go to, if you want to experience traditional czech cuisine that normally heavily relies on animal products.
Read moreThe Schnitzel with potatoe salad tastes or the Svíčková were just like my grandma used to make and the filled dumplings (Knedlíky) are wonderful as well!
The prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. Go get yourself a glass of Kofola and enjoy what this wonderful restaurant has to offer!

This was insanely great. Every dish we had tasted absolutely delicious portion was super filling. The No-Duck didn't really have an accurate texture but was very tasty nevertheless.

wow 🤩 - Edit
The food was absolutely outstanding — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal. The only thing that didn’t quite meet my expectations was the cake selection, which wasn’t to my taste. However, that’s a small point in an otherwise excellent dining experience.

Really solid choice for a vegan meal - yummy food, good service and good prices. There was a little wait at the door for a table and then food/drinks but that’s was because the staff were run off their feet as the place was so busy.

Spoiled for choice - Edit
Prague is very good for vegans with many vegetarian and vegan restaurants, however many of the other options seem to keep it safe with more safe (but delicious) vegan options like burgers, falafel and other international food. Střecha goes out of their way to offer veganized traditional Czech food, which is something very unique and something so strongly appreciated when visiting a different country and wanting to try more of their traditional dishes.
Read moreTheir Czech “meat” brawn was delicious and unique, and their ribs were also fantastic.
My non vegan friends also had the ribs and the burger and they really enjoyed them.
Their portions are very generous and we did not have any space for their (incredibly looking) desserts.
Lastly, their staff is super friendly, and also happy to accommodate to English (as they clearly saw us struggling with Czech lol). Their menu is also offered in both languages. The restaurant social mission is also amazing so I would 100% recommend Střecha to anybody visiting Prague.

Delicious all vegan delights - Edit
I stopped here for a late lunch today. Fortunately, one of the specials was still available. I had the Tarhoña with chimichurri, mushrooms, white beans and arugula. Mine was served with tomato pesto soup which was delicious. Hubby had Schnitzels with potato salad. We ordered chocolate coconut pie to split. I also bought banana bread and a peanut butter brownie for later.
