Awesome food and friendly service!! Certain to please. Environment is clean and welcoming. I tried one of the bowls and it was prepared very well. Lemon date balls were the perfect desert.

Les préparions sont bonnes, mais une fois encore... C'est un prix que je trouve cher pour un burger ou une pita servi seul(e) sans accompagnement

Heavenly Food - Edit
Beautifully prepared Israeli food. I had the Mushroom Bowl and shared a pizza on pita side. Everything is made from scratch, including the whole wheat pita bread. Looking forward to next time!

Amazing Israeli Food! - Edit
This place was amazing! Very filling and so delicious. We got the Shouk burger and the polenta fries with spicy harissa and would definitely recommend both. And everything was compostable! We will definitely be back.

Delicious Israeli food! - Edit
I’ve never had Israeli food before but I tried the mushroom bowl and it was full of flavour! Definitely add the harrisa sauce if you like a bit of spice. Came back the next day and ordered the same! Also, the polenta chips make a good addition for a filling meal.

Incredible Burger - must-try!!! - Edit
I came to D.C. just for two days and I made a beeline for Shouk the first night after hearing all the hype about the burger...and it did not disappoint! Absolutely incredible, especially with the added spicy harissa sauce. 10/10 for sure, probably the best veggie burger I've ever had.

This place is hard to beat for its combination of great tastes that make you feel great even after eating. We wish we had time for multiple visits with our short trip! Pita omelette and pita burger were amazing. Polenta fries, Sweet potato fries, cauliflower, and beet salad were great sides.

Shouk is a fresh new love affair with food you have to experience. The dining area is super cosy bench tables and pleasant aerie window seats. The tap beers are great.
I wish they were in every city.

Amazing! - Edit
Brought my family here on our vacation to Washington DC. After walking in the frigid wind all day, this cosy fast casual restaurant was like heaven on earth. The food was so delicious, especially the Shouk burger is a must try! A perfect combination of crunchy and soft and so many flavors. I beg you to visit and order it!!

Great Eats Near the Convention Center - Edit
Wow. Just wow. Thoroughly enjoyed our food (including my non-plant-based boss!). Picked Middle Eastern because it is usually friendly to veg and non-beef and stumbled on Shouk. Couldn’t be happier to have done so. Our food was tasty and we told our whole group about it when we got back to the convention center. Only downside is there’s not much seating, so be ready to takeout if it’s too cold for the patio.

Definitely the best vegan option in DC... - Edit
Pleasant open-market atmosphere with great foot-tapping music.
Read moreExcellent healthy plant-based whole-food options and equally good service that was personable, knowledgeable, and fast. The gentleman who took my order remembered my name four days later on my second visit. And the gal who took my order the second visit did the same as I departed. Impressive!
On two separate visits, I enjoyed the Mushroom Pita, Cauliflower Bowl, Chopped Salad, Beet Salad, and the Hummus. The family loved the Shouk Burger and the Breakfast Pita. Everyone left very satisfied and full.
And they are environmentally friendly with all consumables being compostable.
Favorite casual dining in Washington DC. Wish they had one in Vancouver Washington.

Cauliflower pita was delicious! I'd come back just for that. My husband really enjoyed his fennel pita. The plaintain fries were great too. I liked that even though it was a fast casual restaurant, they had tap beer and wine on the menu. Overall wonderful vegan experience.

So good! - Edit
The food is simple but delicious. The kind of food that you put in your mouth and feels a "wow". We got the hamburger, the lentil soup and the mushroom pita and all were amazing! For the road we got the polenta fries, which were too salty to the point of being inedible, and the cookie which was moist and awesome! The service was fast, sweet and warm. The cashier knew we were out of town, since everyone that are from the DC area eat there once and become a regular. I believe her.

From the moment you enter Shouk, you find a clean, welcoming oasis for a vegan feast or snack (take your pick).

Don't miss the great harissa hot sauce and lentil soup to accompany any meal.
My only regret is that they do not accept tips. In fact, the cashier put my cash tip back in my pocket when I tried leaving a currency tip on the counter.
Be ready to pay by credit or debit card. No cash is handled here.
