Serves meat, vegan options available. Roy's on Maui is part of an upscale Asian-Hawaiian fusion restaurant and bar chain. Has separate vegetarian menu where the dishes change seasonally. Includes a couple of vegan options, such as tofu steak and vegetable rolls. Due to the fire in Aug 2023 many Lahaina businesses are closed or have moved. NOTHING for vegans - Edit
We made a reservation after reading great things about their vegetarian menu and we were disappointed when we were told they didn't have it anymore. But, we expected some vegetable or noodles options - the waiter told us they could do a tofu stir fry. It was super disappointing and I would NOT recommend if you are vegan.

High-End Dining for the Whole Family - Edit
My husband and I are both vegan, but his entire family (parents, older brother and wife, younger brother) are not. You can therefore imagine how difficult it’s been to find restaurants that make the whole family happy. Thankfully Roy’s was not one of the divisive restaurants.
Read moreEveryone thoroughly enjoyed our time at Roy’s. My husband and I enjoyed amazing cocktails, an appetizer, unique entrees that even impressed the omnivores, good wine, scrumptious dessert, and a fascinating Japanese shochu. The restaurant has a dedicated vegetarian menu (ask for this when you arrive!) that can all be modified vegan-friendly. There were three appetizers, three entrees, and one dessert to choose from (though these change seasonally). The waiter was knowledgeable about dietary requirements and easily made the necessary switches. Everyone walked away from dinner happy and full.
Pros: Several vegan options, Crowd-pleasing for all diets
Cons: It’s a high end restaurant, so expect a big bill

Good Options, Not Worth Price - Edit
Love the veggie menu. Enjoyed the meal but not worth the price. Other options in higher end dining that are much better.

Veg menu = yum! - Edit
Ask for the veg menu. Everything on it is vegan or can be made vegan. It was all superb. Our server was fairly knowledgeable but checked with the chef when he wasnt certain. They start you off with free spiced edemame. Then we got a roasted brusell sprout and cauliflower appetizer along with some beet poke. For entrees, my husband got the eggplant penne and I got the mushroom scallops over sundried tomato risotto. Everything was delicious, maybe a tad saltier than I prefer but very well composed flavors overall. Highly recommend it all! I'll post some pictures!

Roy's - Edit
I'm not entirely sure why this is listed on HC; though I did go here because my bf is non-veg and wanted to try it out. There really isn't anything here for vegans or vegetarians...I ended up with a highly modified salad, basically the BLT wedge minus the B and subbed for a different dressing. There are certainly restaurants that are more veg-friendly in Maui than Roy's.

Roy's in Lahaina - Edit
On my last trip to Maui in 2010, I had thought about eating at Roy's, so I called to inquire about their vegetarian offerings.
Read morePrevious I had eaten here on one occasion, but that was several years ago, and I don't remember anything about the food I had. On this trip, I drove by Roy's many times but didn't end up eating there. I just want to leave a comment about what I found out.
Roy's is a chain restaurant with locations all over the USA. It's billed as a casual fine dining restaurant that serves meat and seafood.
Over the phone, a staff member told me that at this location, the menu does offer around 4-5 vegetarian options which include vegetable sushi, spring rolls, a vegetable pasta dish, and a tofu dish. The food can be made vegan upon request if not already (such as omitting cheese in the pasta).
I was told that each vegetarian main entree costs around $25 each. For Maui/Lahaina, that's moderate pricing, but as far as vegetarian food goes, it's expensive.

First you shouldn't add reviews to places you don't visit! Second, that is not expensive for Maui, not for quality, local produce etc rather than Costco where many other places shop. If you get a quality locally og dinner, than $20-30 is average for the better tier of places for vegan in Maui.
