Great vegan choices - Edit
The menu looks great - veggie and vegan junk food. I wanted the burger but they didn't have those or jackfruit as kitchen were still preparing. I had a hot dog instead. Thin and narrow with thin dill fries. Good overall though bun was a bit dull. Went during fringe so packed and just great to see such a menu in central Edinburgh. ** visited 2018 and had the tofu fish bun which was really nice and buffalo cauliflower which for some reason was doused in two sauces which made it soggy

AMAZING naughty vegan/veggie comfort food - Edit
We had the V. Lucky Nachos, Dirty Fries with pulled jackfruit, To-fish bites(*****), onion rings and tempura veg between three hungry humans. So good, but if you're hoping for a healthy lunch, here's probably not the place (although I think they had a walnut salad)!

Très bien ! - Edit

Amazingly tasty and good quality food (photos don't do it justice). I don't seek out junk food but am glad we went as it's not greasy at all, despite the cuisine - in fact we went back again the next day! The starter (on the specials board) and Lucky Dawg were divine

I loved my time at Paradise Palms. The friend rice and chilli bowl, nachos, and pancakes were all really nice.
Read moreI would just say that each was lacking something to make them delicious, but I tried my friend's hot dawg and it definitely wasn't lacking anything! Bravo 😊😊
Pros: Great range, Filling and inventive dishes

Good food! - Edit
Paradise palms is great, I really like the venue and so was pleased to discover it does vegan food. Had a really nice burger. I wish they would turn some lights on though, I was there in the middle of the day and it was so dark I could barely see my food!

Great food and vibe but had to wait a while - Edit
I've been to Paradise Palms and really enjoyed the food. It offers something different - vegan and veggie junk food! Great choice, first time I had the seitan burger and second time I had the tofish. The chips are also mouthwatering. I love the vibe of the place, the staff wear cool clothes and the decor is funky. The only one improvement would be the waiting times but I understand it gets busy. If you're going on a evening I suggest booking a table!

GREAT!!! - Edit
Visited on a sunny day, and really felt like being on holiday in this place (due to the decor, not to mention the cocktails)... But it was the food that was the star of the show! Not at all healthy but obviously still better than any non-vegan food! Great treat.

Delicious Vegan Food in the heart of Edinburgh - Edit
We love to find great vegan restaurants when we travel abroad (thanks to Happy Cow - we always do!) I had not originally picked this place because it was vegetarian and I wanted to support a vegan place but the vegan places looked like raw food and we needed comfort food on a rainy day. Lucky Pig was awesome! Pretty much everything can be made vegan. I had the seitan meatball sub and mac n cheese (holy smokes was that incredible). And, my man had the Messy fries which were seitan meatballs, gravy, vegan cheese over french fries. That was awesome too. I actually wish we had more time in town to go back. Highly recommend this place. Cool vibe inside too and fun perky waitstaff.

Great 'Diner' Food - Edit
I've visited a couple times, and the place has a great, lively, kitschy vibe. The food is good, and most is vegan or can be ordered vegan. The cauliflower buffalo wings deserve a specific mention, as they made me a believer (I'd always wondered how good they could really be).

Had the pulled jackfruit to share and the 'to-fish' tacos. Both delicious and the to fish actually could pass for fish. Jackfruit was also flavoured very well and my non-veggie friend loved it. Everything is reasonably priced and the decor and atmosphere is cool. Decent portions very filling!

Ambrosia - not the rice pudding. - Edit
Lovely friendly bar/restaurant with a ton of awesome veggie/vegan soul food. Man, I came in here for a beef burger, left a converted vegan. I didn't expect this. Service was also lovely. I mean, the place is more hip than George Clinton rockin' jompers. All staff were super friendly. Food arrived quick and I couldn't see my pal over the nachos. (they're awfie wee, but still.) worth a try.

Best vegan junk food I’ve had! 😈 - Edit
This is by far my favourite place for vegan junk food, everything is absolutely amazing and very affordable. The vegan mac and cheese, onion rings, buffalo cauliflower and jackfruit nachos were out of this world!

Great Comfort Food - Edit
Lots of vegan options are available at this vegetarian restaurant, set in a tiki themed bar. Great atmosphere, and really tasty food.
Read moreWe've been twice in the last couple of days, and had the the Lucky Dawg, BBQ Jackfruit Po, BBQ Meatball Po, and Blackbean and Seitan Burger. For me, the winner was the burger, but Mrs Judgecal preferred the Meatballs. The Jackfruit is quite sweet, so go for the Meatballs if you like a more savoury BBQ dish. Go for the Lucky Spice Fries if you like a Cajun edge to your chips.
Service was friendly and prompt.
Pros: Lots of vegan options that are unhealthy. :-)
Cons: None I can think of.

Terrible Service, Decent food - Edit
I came here with my girlfriend on May 23rd. Atmosphere was pretty cool and the place was pretty packed. There appeared to be only two people working on the floor and two bartenders (although there were only 4 chairs at the bar). We went ignored until we pulled aside a waiter and asked him if we could be sat. He said he would let us know when a seat opened up. He ended up seating people who came in after us first which was weird. The people on the side of us got menus, drinks, and had their food order taken and we were still waiting for menus. All he had to do was turn around and hand them to us when he took them off the other table. We waited about 45 minutes. Watched him clear glasses off of empty tables and walked passed us a bunch of times even though we were clearly trying to make eye contact with him. I ended up going and getting my own menus from the bar and then approaching our waiter (blond hair, tie dyed shirt and a consistent annoyed expression) and telling him we were ready to order when he had a second. He came over and said yeah.. sorry.. I uhh forgot about you. So we put our order in and his response was " is that it?" and then he walked away. We waited quite a while for our drinks and finally one of the bartenders brought them over, without removing the empty glasses. Finally our food game, brought by yet a different person. We received no napkins or silverware. My girlfriend had to eat her salad with her hands. We waited a while for the bill and left no tip. We hardly wanted to pay the bill. We were there for 3 hours. Terrible terrible service. Food was pretty good but not worth the aggrevation. We both work in the food industry and realize it can be overwhelming at times but you should certainly always scan the room, choose priorities, and at the very least greet your customer with a smile and apologize when you've completely forgotten about them.
Read moreI got the jackfruit nachos and the corn bread. We split the veggie tempura with a garlic aoli dip. It was all pretty good and fair priced. My girlfriend got the "hot dawg" with a salad and seemed to like the salad better.

Cons: Slow Service, Rude Staff
