Best tacos ever - Edit
We ordered 3-4 different types of tacos, loaded fries and churros with dulce de leche and we're amazed. Everything was so good, including our cocktails. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was so much fun.

Perfect place for a beer and a snack - Edit
We had some snacks and a few beers here and everything was great. What made this place even better was that it is LGBTQ friendly and staff was also awesome. Would visit this place again when in Edinburgh.

Friendly staff - Edit
Loved that the place is gay friendly and the staff were super friendly. It's a fun place. So those are pros.
Read moreBut the food was not very good and I am not that fussy a vegan. The corn ribs were so soggy. The edamame beans sat in a bowl of oil - we ate the ones on the top and they were well slicked with oil, but had to stop when we came to the ones actually sitting in oil. There is only so much oil one can eat. They were well seasoned though. It was a shame we could only eat the top ones.
The battered pickles were ok, the burger was ok. Nothing to write home about.
I would go back for a drink but not for food.
Pros: friendly staff, gay friendly
Cons: food was not great

Yolanda, we're so sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your experience. The items you reviewed are from an old menu, we have since joined up with Antojitos with a vibrant new collaborative menu which we feel is vastly improved. We hope next time you're in Palms we can tempt you with our new offering.

Oh, I am really pleased to hear that. I liked the place a lot because the staff and ambience were nice. So if the food was better, I would be happy to come back. Thanks.

Delicious vegan junk food! - Edit
I was in food heaven here. Friendly staff in a chilled out atmosphere. With an extensive vegan menu, I was spoilt for choice. I opted for the philly cheesesteak fries, tortilla chips with chipotle sauce and battered oyster mushrooms. Very comforting and delicious.

Mindblowingly good - Edit
We were fighting over the cauliflower bites because they were INSANELY GOOD. Side chips portion was GIGANTIC. We have tried 3/4 burger options, which unfortunately don’t remember the names of now, but the mushroom one and the bacon one was truly great and the katsu one wasn’t too special.
Read moreThe only downside was the drinks. I had tomato juice which probably had more water in it than actual tomato.
Overall, absolutely would go again even if just for the cauliflower bites!

Bon - Edit

Not a good night for the kitchen - Edit
Went on a Sunday evening and wanted a bit of a hangover cure. Came away still feeling hungover and not at all satisfied. Burger bun was burnt, as was the bacon. Chips weren't crunchy or salted properly. Mac & cheese was weird, bland and just unpleasant. Crispy mushrooms weren't cooked all the way through. It's a real shame as I go here every now and again, so I don't want to be harsh as it's some sort of pillar of the Edinburgh vegan community. I did express a bit of this to a server (felt bad doing it...) and she gave us a discount. Really nice gesture, but surely the kitchen must have been having an off night or something because it was a 4/10 at best. Oh well!

Extremely reliable with a few great standouts - Edit
Important to note that the menu is entirely vegan until specified otherwise, ie - everything is vegan unless you ask them to add dairy cheese. Really lovely staff that are super helpful and really back their food. We got a whole mix of things but the biggest standouts were of all the food containing “bacon”. We were dining with a couple of omni’s who swore that it was exactly the same as eating a really high quality piece of bacon. Both the texture and taste were uncanny in the most delicious way possible. Definitely a must if you miss your bacon, but if you find this sort of vegan meat confronting I’d definitely grab yourself something else off what is considered to be a pretty extensive menu.

Expensive and poor service - Edit
Came here as a group of 9. We had pre booked. The menu isn’t that big and is mostly burgers but everything is vegan although you can add dairy cheese. I had the bacon royale burger and it was nice but I think the prices were too expensive as it wasn’t that big. Also we had to wait for cutlery - one member didn’t have a burger so was sitting about waiting for them to bring cutlery so she could eat. The service was very slow and they add a large service charge on top, which in hindsight we should not have paid.

Didn’t really read the reviews here before heading there, and when we got there we weren’t sure on how the food would be.

Nice spot - Edit
I've heard so many great things about Paradise Palms, and I was not disappointed. The food and staff were nice. The interior was fancy and the place felt hip and lavish. If I were to compare it to the Dog house, this place would be if the Dog House got gentrified. The menu was by default vegan, i.e., you could ask for dairy cheese on your burger if you wanted that, so I would've love to see this place fully vegan as this would not be a huge step for them.

Looks like the home made Saipan is back. Good stuff.
Tried to get food last night and had a pretty poor service experience. Left without a drink or any sign of a food order after 15 minutes. I will be back.
