Favourite meal in Stockholm, hands down! - Edit
I haven’t had Chinese food in ages, likely because it’s more difficult to find plant-based options. I was so excited to try Lao Wai!
Read moreWe attempted walk in and, given the small interior, they were all booked. We made a reservation for a few days later (I would recommend this as their opening hours are more limited) and it was well worth the wait!
Prices are quite high, but the food is absolutely delicious. I love the sharing mentality of the dishes served; it’s great to order a few different options with your party and share away! Each meal ordered exceeded my expectations.
Highly, highly recommend.

It's so good that we've gone three times in one week! - Edit
Lao Wai is one of the best vegan restaurants we have tried world-wide. Their Ma Po Dou Fu in particular is amazing. The staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful, as well. Caution: it is a small restaurant and reservations are recommended, even on weeknights!

Rare to find a vegan only Chinese - Edit
Firstly, I was just impressed that there is a vegan-only Chinese restaurant, I’ve never come across one before. It’s a shame that their wines aren’t all vegan too (only one wine, a white, was vegan). A range of starters and mains. Modern decor, mix of Nordic and Chinese style. Quick service. Seats are a little tightly packed together. Definitely worth giving this place a try.

I love most Asian kitchens but often not impressed by Chinese restaurants in Europe. This one was completely different. The place doesn’t look like much but both dishes we tried were absolutely amazing, best tofu we’ve ever had and pistachio ice cream was a delight. Staff were so friendly and service very quick despite a full house.

Amazing authentic Taiwanese/Chinese inspired food by a Dutch chef who clearly has an awesome understanding of the cuisine, flavour, veganism and a no nonsense approach to food. Could not recommend any higher. Absolutely must eat, even for a non vegan.

A nice little restaurant. Everything is vegan. We took one starter it was really good but surprisingly small. And two main course both really nice and completely different. You can ask for more rice. Do not hesitate it’s a really good restaurant.
