Kwan Inn vegetarian, Chinatown, Singapore

Tasty and inexpensive. The nice guy in charge claims all food he offers is vegan. Lots of vegetable dishes and not just starch / processed food.

Pros: Seems all vegan, Inexpensive, Numerous vegetable dishes

Cons: Looks most / all food is cooked in oil

Briyani with side dishes

...been here many times & finally a review. Sorry, photo taken after chomping half-way. Portion is decent. Mock meat, mushroom & vegetable. No feeling of “dry” mouth after eating or after reaching home. Decent options on menu.

Pros: Decent options on menu, Reasonably pricing, Located next to a MRT station.

One of my frequent favourite places.

One of their specialty I would say is their Laksa!

Vegetarain food

I have been eating here for 6 years, they used to serve good vegetarian food. But over the past 3 years after the Malaysian Chief left the food deteriorated & the variety got lesser. Today was thinking of giving them another chance only to realize that it was a mistake. Not only their food sucks, the price increase awfully as i was told that white rice will cost me $1.50. while other dishes add up will come to about $6-$8. Not only is this not economic rice anymore even the soup is more like boiling water than soup. As can see their business has dropped much as compared to few years ago & i came to understand why today. I want to give only 1 stars but due to system being not fair that they only allow certain people to have certain rate. 1 more star was given out of compassion by the system

Mix veggies rice is great

Been there few times for dinner, their mix veggies rice got lots of delicious dishes to choose from, the laksa is nice too, the herbal soup is lighter in taste, but still yummy

Vegan fastfood

Good vegan fastfood. Cheap but a bit small portions. You find this eatery from outside at the back of the shopping mall.

Good food, longer open

This stall is 1h longer open than many others, so great in the evening, while others will have only very few options say around 7pm you can still choose from a good variety at this place.
I had the darker noodles (rice noodles? Wasn’t able to find out 😉), with 2 veggies, pak Choi and cucumber with ananas, enjoyed it.
Friendly staff, coming back

Pros: Food tastes good, Good prices

Cons: A lot is deep fried (I always look f plain tofu)

If you have to pick one pick this one

This is your standard economy rice style shop. To me it feels a little less oily than others and of the shops in people's park, like the soups here the best. If you haven't gone to any of these types of stalls in Chinatown, I would recommend you start with this one.

Pros: Consistent, Less oily, Good Soup

Friendly Staff

With few vegetarian stalls within 101 Upper Cross St, People's Park Centre basement foodcourt, you are spoilt for choice.

Pricing affordable and economical rice dishes look good. The Vegetable Curry and Potato Curry are really appetising. Ordered their soupy Kway Teow noodle ($3) for breakfast and rice with 4 dishes ($4) as takeaway.

If only, they can have cut chilli padi with soy sauce for the Kway Teow and uses bean sprout and lettuces.

Overall interaction experience was good, due to friendly staff.

Pros: cheap

Simply amazing

The best vegetarian food I’ve eaten in Asia. Lots of variety, the choice changes every day (sometimes even more often! I got my food and when I walked past 30 minutes later there was a new different dish!). Very tasty noodles and imitation meat/tofu!! I can’t stop going back for more!! Also incredibly cheap and filling. 100% recommend

Pros: Lots of variety, Very cheap

Great food

The food there is delicious, if you are in People's Park this is the best choice. Even in the evening they had fresh food that was very good. It's also super cheap, around 3SGD per plate. They have different veggies, mock meat.

Pros: delicious food, very good value for money

great value

It's hard to see past hawkers stall jnnsi Singapore as they are so good value.
Cam for breakfast on our first day mainly due to its being a Sunday and so many places were not open.
We has three main dishes the char Sui probably being the best, a couple of sides as well.
Plastic plates and low cost looks betray some decent. Tasty food. 10sgd for the lot, a bargain.

Good and cheap

Chinese. Several veg dishes: veggies, mock-meat and mock-fish, rice, tofu, soup. Cheap and clean. Basement of People Park Center (so not the People Park Complex!)

Recommend for good and cheap lunch

I like this place and regularly go there, despite the 15mn walk from my office (or maybe because of the walk). It is located in the basement of the commercial center. Similar to Shu Veg in CBD, for $5 I get a large place of rice with 3 veg dishes, on spring roll and one fried patata. I’m normally pretty full when I finish. In the rare occasions when I am still angry, I then grab a Chinese desert at the second floor, next to the plateform going back to CBD – most desert are veg
