Kinda tastes as it looks

Easy to find in PPC. Go to the basement using escalator and then it’s basically the second or third on the right
Their famous dish is made with coriander
Should have looked that up beforehand since it’s a traditional dish. Thank goodness I didn’t pour it over everything
But still all ingredients are rather simple taste and nothing special … 6.8$ for a dish
1.8$ for three pieces of tempeh which was good but lacking flavours and salt for sure

Delicious, healthy, and affordable

The main attraction here is thunder tea rice, and it satisfies: not the best we’ve ever had, but quite good, allium-free, and mostly organic. The tempeh side dish is very tasty, too. Note the alternating daily specials on the menu board. Very reasonably priced.

Enjoy!

“Thunder Tea Rice” a must!

It look us a while to find Firefly - we walked past it without realizing, but thanks to another reviewers photo of the shopfront we found it. And I’m so glad we did! Thunder Tea Rice is also known as Lei Cha rice was delicious - we also loved the tempeh.

Wallet-Friendly Healthy & Tasty Organic Vegan Allium-Free Food

Their popular Thunder Tree stalls previously closed down as their Fireflies Health Farm was shut down for the government to repurpose the land for military use. (Check out the CNA documentary to find out more about their story!) Glad they’ve reopened with a new name~ Wallet-friendly healthy and tasty vegan and allium-free food with organic brown rice and fresh produce. Apart from their popular leicha kolomee, they also have other great menu items such as homemade yong tau foo, as well as off-the-menu daily specials. Within the food court in People’s Park Centre, accessible via Chinatown MRT Exit D. P.S. They’re open on CNY Day 1, 2, 3. Also heard there’ll be an upcoming Overkill Singapore Get Fed episode feature!

Tasty, quality and affordable

Located in the basement of People's park food court.
The flavours and spices in the food hits the spot.
The quality of food is great and everything I tried is delicious.
Braised Tofu rice tastes like liver fry and this is my favourite.
Nasi Lamek looks so colourful and the paste given with it was so tasty.
If you like no meat, very affordable and quality vegetables used in your food, this is the place to go

Pros: Braised Tofu rice tastes like liver fry., Reusable cutlery, Fast and quick

Cons: Cash only

Comfort food

It is such a satisfying and heaty meal, one of the best kinds of comfort food. The thunder tea itself is fragrant, definitely one of the best in town!

Super yummy food. Kind staff

Super delicious thunder tea rice and tong tap fu. Long queue during lunch weekday. Didn’t realize they only accept cash until I reach counter but staff is very kind to let me have my lunch first and pay back after that when I find atm. Even mentioned to please eat first.👍🏻

amazing thunder tea kolo mee

first time having thunder tea kolo mee and i LOVED it 😋 i ate the noodles on their own (without the tea) and they were super flavourful.
$6.80 is kinda pricey, but the taste was worth it! good serving size too. would come back again (:
p.s. i visited for dinner on a saturday and a queue had started forming before 6pm. pick your timing to visit wisely!

Their last day 31-5-2022

Sad that they have decided to permanently cease their operation soon, ordered their today special Dang Gui noodles, quite decent too, but kolo mee still the best.

Tried their Thunder Tea Kolo Mee previously at their other outlet, the kolo mee was really good, full of sesame oil fragrance, the sweet potato leaves and other ingredients are well cooked too, but their Tea tastes normal only, for the Tea (the soul of Thunder Tea), imho Living Wholesome serves the best Tea.

Tried one each of their side dishes too, all were good especially the Hakka and bitter gourd Yong Tau Foo, like the herbal broth and Yong Tau Foo paste very much, their chilli was spicy enough and shiok, do come here and enjoy before 31-5-2022 (their last day of operation)

leicha kolo mee v nice!!

i personally rate this among my top 3 leicha spots in singapore!! i usually eat leicha with rice, but tried kolo mee ($5.80) for the first time today. the noodles were nicely flavoured with some kinda oil, and goes well with the veg which were sweet and crunchy. the hakka tofu ($1.50) which i added on had a mushroomy stuffing and was also nicely flavoured! i personally find the soup too herbal, prefer it with peanuts mixed into it to give it a nutty, almost pesto-ish taste!

Limited selection

Quite pack during weekdays lunch time.

Thunder tea rice huge portion but lacking of taste; tea not fragrant at all.

All the ingredients are soft type; huge disappointment.

Kolomee mushroom, beancurd yong tau foo & fried wantan was good.

Pros: Economical

Cons: Limited dishes

The best Thunder Tea Rice EVER! AND More!

My hubby and I came here for lunch and oh my goodness, we were blown away by the amazing dishes served here!! The thunder tea rice was impeccable with each ingredient meticulously cut and cooked to perfection. The cha soup was packed full of flavour and was thick, not watered down. Then we ordered the secret recipe braised tofu which accidentally came out as a meal and we were SO GLAD it came out as a meal, because the rice was braised in that delicious braised brown sauce and the tofu was melt in your mouth wonderful. This braised tofu meal was so good, I'd say it's tied in first place with being the best meal there (along with the Thunder Tea Rice)! We also ordered the mushroom mee, which was good, but compared to the braised tofu and TTR, it was second or third in place. Hahaha, and the freshly made and fried wontons are fantastic. Super light and crispy, and not overly oily. In fact, all of the meals were less oily than most veg Chinese dishes. Ten thumbs up!!

Pros: The best Thunder Tea Rice, The best Braised Tofu Rice, Cheap as! And so delicious!

Cons: None!
