Good food, bad service - Edit
The food was great. Maybe the best I had in Lisbon. But absolutely the slowest service I’ve experienced in recent memory. It took over an hour between courses. Was hard to even get water refilled. It really put a damper on our experience.
Read moreThe food is veganized Portuguese classics. The salmon was especially incredible. My husband found the mustard sauce on the steak a bit heavy. The cheesecake was really cute but came with a shot glass of something that seemed too thin to be a sauce and too bland to be a drink - no one explained its purpose to us, they just plunked it down and walked away.
Pros: Inventive, Tasty
Cons: Horrible service, Expensive

Recommend for portuguese food! - Edit
This is one of the only places in lisbon where you can have Portuguese food!
Read more2025 update: delicious “bitoque”, rly well cooked seitan and sauce
Wow i rly tasted the salmon in the marinated salmon but the serving is too small
The nutella cake is not rly cake but more of a compact mouse, not my fav and also too small for the price
Cool atmosphere
Loved the "octupus" with baked potato, the texture surprised me! Its a nice rendition of the typical octupus made in the oven.
My portuguese non vegan dad had the "fried fish" with tomato rice, but the octupus was tastier and more familiar to the typical dish! Tomato rice rly satisfied him tho!
In the end we had the fantastic parfait

Portions much smaller and MORE EXPENSIVE than before - Edit
One year ago the croquetes were 4.90€ (see photos on Google). I liked this place a lot before. Now they are 5.90€ and noticeably smaller. Shrinkflation made me visit this place for the last time.
Read moreNotice on how, on their response, they ignore the PRICE INCREASE aspect! If it was about portion sizes, then the price would have decreased proportionally to the much smaller dose.

Cons: Shrinkflation, Portions much smaller, Price increase despite smaller dose

Hello Guilherme,
Read moreWe are sorry that your last experience at our restaurant did not meet your expectations.
The portion sizes we serve at Kong are reviewed from time to time with the aim of improving our customers' experience and minimizing waste.
The croquettes, in particular, were an appetizer that, when ordered by just one person (or even two), often led to customers being unable to finish their main course, increasing waste and lowering overall satisfaction levels.
At the moment, most of the feedback we receive indicates that ordering the croquettes (for example, to share between two people), along with a main course and a dessert, provides an appropriate and ideal amount of food.
We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration.
Best regards,
André Santos

Fantastic bombastic - Edit
During just one week in Lisbon we had dinner there twice. The food looks gorgeous and everything we had tasted great.
Read moreMy husband is not vegan but recently stopped eating meat, so every time we go to a vegan place he is still a bit anxious whether it will be nice or not. Kong is one of the places that truly proves that no animal products are needed to make a meal delightful.

Definitely gives the WOW effect - Edit
It would be a shame not to come hungry to this restaurant, because their menu is amazing and it's worth going for a starter/main/dessert. We shared the cashew cheese as a starter and it set the bar high for the rest of the meal. It didn't disappoint when we tried some veganised Portuguese classics. The 'octopus' is made with mushrooms and the 'salmon' with tofu and nori. Everything was presented like a fancy restaurant, so we were pleasantly surprised by the very affordable pricing. There's nothing not to love about this place, from the dramatic entrance (you'll be welcomed by a gorilla statue) to the cosy and secluded interior on the first floor. Great experience overall!

Multiple typical Portuguese dishes made vegan, tasting amazing.

Great service, spoke Spanish and English besides Portuguese.

Disappointing - Edit
We absolutely cannot support the good reviews, we expected great food but everything was very low quality, the burger dry, the dishes cold, it looked like the chef doesn’t like cooking. It’s a mistery as to how this place has been top rated, the others in Lisbon play in a whole other league. Service tried their best but the kitchen was completely disappointing. How can you make convenience food like beyond meat taste bad?

One of my top restaurants in Lisbon atm - Edit
Kong is currently one of the best vegan restaurants in Lisbon, in my opinion. I have been a client since they started in the previous location and it is a joy to witness their evolution. The restaurant is spacious and suits everyone - people eating alone, couples, groups of friends, birthday dinners, etc -, and it's pet friendly. The staff are very nice and polite people. As for the food, the flavors and the quality are awesome. It is one of those restaurants where I am not afraid to try different dishes, even the ones that sound more of the simpler side, that I will not be disappointed. The menu changes from time to time, which is nice to try new dishes along time. Don't skip the entries, they are usually super good.
