Good vegan Francesinha

Three or four different “meat” options for the vegan francesinha (tofu, Seitan etc). Price totally okay! Always full when we went so must be good for non-vegans as well

So so so so so so so good

We had each of the four Francesinhas. Amazing. Deserts were excellent. Pizzas a bit to thin and crispy. Overall an amazing experience. 5 stars.

Pros: Large vegan menu

Cons: Great value

Lots of vegan choices

My favourite thing was the amount of choice - they have a whole vegan menu. I lovedddd my pizza it was really delicious. My partner on the other hand did not really enjoy the curry francesinhas because of the taste so personal choice.
They also had vegan desserts which are generally rare, so I was impressed!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Vegan desserts

Glad I tried it

I’m glad I tried it as it’s a speciality of the region but not sure I’d have one again. The sauce was interesting and the smoked tofu was nice but the fries were stale and service very slow, but friendly.

Vegan options for a local delicacy

These guys have a really clear vegan menu, with multiple vegan takes on a regional delicacy which made it nice and easy to experience a local dish.

Pros: Menú vegano, Comida rica , Muy buen precio

Cons: Nada

Review - Francesinhas Al Forno Da Baixa

I never saw so many vegan options in one menu so for that I’m super grateful. I had the Tempeh Francesinha and it was deliciously amazing!!!! Spicy as I love ❤️ Good ambience and the interior had so much portuguese character! Nice staff. Now I’m curious to try the other options!

Great place to try Porto's specialty

They have a vegan menu, a full page with all of the courses and four francesinhas. All of the staff knew english and in general they seemed tourist friendly. We got the mushroom starter and a pair of francesinhas which were great, but be warned that it is a lot of heavy food. They were all decorated for Halloween since we went on Oct 31, including some staff with face paint. The desert was "natas do ceu" which was a kind of parfait with cookie crumble on the bottom, a kind of cream center, and pumpkin jam on top, it was very good.

Pros: A vegan menu, Good food, Tourist friendly

Cons: Not the healthiest (obviously)

Get the olives as a starter - delicious

Had the seitan francesinhas. I went in with no expectations, or more that I didn't quite know what to expect. It was interesting! The sauce was tasty. Vegan cheese was good but didn't quite have that mozzarella stretch (unsurprisingly). Serving was massive (I got the side of fries, couldn't finish it). The olives with garlic and oregano were PHENOMENAL. Such a simple but delicious starter. Staff were really friendly.

Pros: Many vegan options, Friendly service

many vegan options

i had a vegan tofu francesinha and one dessert. there are a lot of options to choose from and the staff is really nice! i asked about the vegan cream they used and the waiter went and got it to show it to me! it is a good price since i payed 15€ for the food and a small beer!
the francesinha was okay, but not great. but the dessert was amazing!
(had to change the review since i had a much better francesinha today!)

Big vegan menu, but the Francesinhas did not taste good

We were intrigued by the big vegan menu and really wanted to try the Francesinhas. Sadly both (Tofu & Seitan) didn't taste good at all. All elements on their own tasted bad and were accompanied and overshadowed by this "sauce", which just dominated the whole plante and wasn't really any better.

Pros: Many vegan options , Fair prices

Cons: Francesinhas didn't taste good , Interior wasn't that nice

Great food but service is lacking

The Francesinha was amazing! I would give a better rating but the service and staff let's the place down unfortunately. We went without a reservation and even though the entire place was empty they wouldn't let us dine so we booked for the following night so it's advisable to book ahead. We were unable to finish our food so asked to take our leftovers with us and were really surprised that we were charged for this - considering the issues with food waste worldwide I wasn't too impressed with this. However, it definitely is a great place for vegan Francesinhas for those who want to try.

Pros: Great tasting Francesinhas

Cons: Rfstaurant and staff aren't very welcoming.

Francesinha

I already tried all the francesinhas in this restaurant and they are all good.
Also I noticed they have been making an effort to include more and more vegan options. Recently they add vegan pizzas to their menu. 👏

Pros: They have an entire menu completely vegan.

Cons: Can be very busy at certain hours.Book in advance

Vegan francesinhas

Nice to try traditional portugese dishes as vegan! They have a wide variety of vegan francesinhas, pizzas, etc. The francesinhas are quite big, so if you're not starving, considering sharing one ( fries) with someone. Not our favorite food, but that's not the restaurant's fault.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Large portions, Traditional food

Separate vegan menu

They offer some starters, pizza and a few other dishes on a separate vegan menu which is very helpful. Their pizza is pretty good. But the overall atmosphere is not very comfortable.

Very salty sauces.

We were 8 people and we all had the typical francesinhas. The sandwiches were tasty but they swim in way too salty sauces. The french fries are too soft.
The restaurant is very loud but the staff is friendly

Pros: Many vegan options , Friendly

Cons: Very salty , Loud

Great selection of vegan food

I liked that we could try one of the local dishes, even though I don’t eat meat. It was very freshly made and certified vegan. My personal highlight though was the dessert. You have to order the vegan wildberry cheesecake!!

Pros: Many vegan options, Great vegan dessert , Very nice service

Cons: Many meat dishes served
