Good vegan Francesinha - Edit
Three or four different “meat” options for the vegan francesinha (tofu, Seitan etc). Price totally okay! Always full when we went so must be good for non-vegans as well

Bien para probar la francesinha - Edit
Hay muchos sitios con francesinhas veganas pero aquí tienen varias opciones. Yo me decanté por la de seitán y fue un acierto, aunque no sé si repetiría (no por el local, sino por el plato en sí).

We had each of the four Francesinhas. Amazing. Deserts were excellent. Pizzas a bit to thin and crispy. Overall an amazing experience. 5 stars.

Lots of vegan choices - Edit
My favourite thing was the amount of choice - they have a whole vegan menu. I lovedddd my pizza it was really delicious. My partner on the other hand did not really enjoy the curry francesinhas because of the taste so personal choice.

Glad I tried it - Edit
I’m glad I tried it as it’s a speciality of the region but not sure I’d have one again. The sauce was interesting and the smoked tofu was nice but the fries were stale and service very slow, but friendly.

Review - Francesinhas Al Forno Da Baixa - Edit
I never saw so many vegan options in one menu so for that I’m super grateful. I had the Tempeh Francesinha and it was deliciously amazing!!!! Spicy as I love ❤️ Good ambience and the interior had so much portuguese character! Nice staff. Now I’m curious to try the other options!

Great place to try Porto's specialty - Edit
They have a vegan menu, a full page with all of the courses and four francesinhas. All of the staff knew english and in general they seemed tourist friendly. We got the mushroom starter and a pair of francesinhas which were great, but be warned that it is a lot of heavy food. They were all decorated for Halloween since we went on Oct 31, including some staff with face paint. The desert was "natas do ceu" which was a kind of parfait with cookie crumble on the bottom, a kind of cream center, and pumpkin jam on top, it was very good.

Get the olives as a starter - delicious - Edit
Had the seitan francesinhas. I went in with no expectations, or more that I didn't quite know what to expect. It was interesting! The sauce was tasty. Vegan cheese was good but didn't quite have that mozzarella stretch (unsurprisingly). Serving was massive (I got the side of fries, couldn't finish it). The olives with garlic and oregano were PHENOMENAL. Such a simple but delicious starter. Staff were really friendly.

Big vegan menu, but the Francesinhas did not taste good - Edit
We were intrigued by the big vegan menu and really wanted to try the Francesinhas. Sadly both (Tofu & Seitan) didn't taste good at all. All elements on their own tasted bad and were accompanied and overshadowed by this "sauce", which just dominated the whole plante and wasn't really any better.

Great food but service is lacking - Edit
The Francesinha was amazing! I would give a better rating but the service and staff let's the place down unfortunately. We went without a reservation and even though the entire place was empty they wouldn't let us dine so we booked for the following night so it's advisable to book ahead. We were unable to finish our food so asked to take our leftovers with us and were really surprised that we were charged for this - considering the issues with food waste worldwide I wasn't too impressed with this. However, it definitely is a great place for vegan Francesinhas for those who want to try.

Vegan francesinhas - Edit
Nice to try traditional portugese dishes as vegan! They have a wide variety of vegan francesinhas, pizzas, etc. The francesinhas are quite big, so if you're not starving, considering sharing one ( fries) with someone. Not our favorite food, but that's not the restaurant's fault.

We were 8 people and we all had the typical francesinhas. The sandwiches were tasty but they swim in way too salty sauces. The french fries are too soft.
