Good surprise! - Edit
More then 4 francesinha and "cachorro" options, including tofu, seitan, tempe. Also vegan dessert. Crew really know about what was vegan and what wasn't. They are known as the best francesinha in town! We really like it!

Amazing! - Edit
It’s the most tasty vegan francesinha that I ever had ! I choosed the tempeh francesinha and it was a blast. The vegan menu offers you a lots of options, also we order first the “the cogumelos à bulhão pato” it was also good but it was missing a little bit more of flavor. The rest was perfect!

Amazing francesinhas - Edit
This restaurant has an amazing venue in the centro of Oporto.
Read moreEverything is amazing, specially the bread, the olives and the francesinha.
They have a full vegan menu, with starters, dishes and desserts.
The tempeh francesinha is heaven sent.
The mushrooms and the cheesecake are so remarkable, even if not so incredible as the main dish.
It is not expensive at all, unless you ask for Oporto wine sangria (but it’s so worthy).
Pros: Francesinha, Full vegan menu , Venue and location

The place to try the vegan Francesinha - Edit
Take the suggestion from this local Porto guide: this is the place to try the vegan Francesinha. I've been around most places that serve vegetarian / vegan francesinhas (I'm from here and I loved Francesinhas before changing my diet) and this is the best at the moment. There are other options, but in my opinion this is the version that is most respectful to the original meat version. It serves the meat version as well so it's a good place to take a mixed group of people.

Vegan Portuguese dishes - Edit
Francesinhas Al Forno da Baixa is a nice restaurant offering lots of veganised Portuguese dishes. I tried Francesinhas for the first time which is not a meal I need to eat a second time but I thought it’s worth a try in Porto. The vegan sausage was quite nice though. But we were a little confused by the service. We came early in the evening to make sure we get a table and we were one of the first people inside. After us, each table got starters like bread and olives except for us. We got completely ignored. I would still recommend it for some “authentic” meals.

Great Franceshinas - Edit
We ordered two franceshinas, one of Seitan and the other one of Tempeh.
Read moreSeitan pieces were too thick...but the one with Tempeh was wonderful.
Cheesecake is a must, even if you aren't hungry after eating the francesinhas(something that is normal, because of them size).

Great food worthy of five stars - Edit
I didn't realize you couldn't give five stars to a non veg restaurant. I get it I suppose but regret that it isn't communicated to people. I thought they only had 3.5 stars out of 5, which isn't so great. Rather, 4 stars is max for them. Anyway, great food! I had the smoked tofu francesinha with regular cheese. Delicious!! The fries are fresh and worth every calorie! Great spot to try something new as they have tons of vegan options.

Mächtig! Und lecker! - Edit
Cons: Keine

Excellent cheesecake! - Edit
We went here to try the traditional Francesinhas sandwhich and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the wheat gluten version with fries, it was tasty. Portion was large as well. We also had a cheesecake with red fruits for dessert and that was EXCELLENT. We went back another night just to have the cheesecake it was that good. Service was very friendly and helpfull. Our waiter was the same both nights and he remembered us. Would recommend.

Great place to try the famous Francesinhas sandwich of Porto - Edit
Didn’t want to leave Porto without trying this local sandwich. We ordered the seitan and tofu versions. We think the seitan one tasted better. We also got that one with milk based cheese. Fresh cut fries and the hotdog was good too. The hotdog was a bit salty and we just got it with the bun, not with all the other toppings. Overall, worth a meal here in Porto.

Good for going with friends - Edit
Very friendly staff that served us after-hours (4 pm). Had a veg hot dog with francesinha sauce, a fairly big portion. The fries were homemade and received a glass of Port wine on the house. Recommend!! They have both traditional Porto food and the vegan versions :)

Traditional Portuguese food- vegan! - Edit
It is a place that you would never think offers vegan food. But it does! If you want to try all the sandwiches you see everywhere but with vegan cheese and tempeh- that’s your place. They also have vegan sausage! It’s junk food yes, but it’s vegan junk!

Perfect francesinhas! - Edit
Various types of vegan AND really good francesinhas. The sauce doesn't get thicker when getting cooler (as we saw in other places, due to concentrated tomato sauce).

Great vegan mushrooms.
Various types of sangria. We had a nice one with white wine.
