Omg vegan whippy ice cream! - Edit
I was going to review the chicken burger, which was heavenly, but then I had the vegan whippy for dessert and I could have eaten 14 more right there and then. Amazing food, and such a nice atmosphere.

Just Amazing! - Edit
OMG! On holiday for a couple of days in the area, and found this place on the Happy Cow app. If this was the only place I visited the entire trip would have been well worth it. The food is amazing, the range, variety. AND ALL VEGAN! We had two of the salad bowls one with salad, mushrooms, roasted veg, seitan pieces jalapeños and one with salad coleslaw, pickled red cabbage, feta, and fried onion pieces both with ranch dressing. AMAZING! Very impressed.

Delicious and 100% vegan fast and/or healthy food - Edit
We only briefly stopped in Southampton but made a beeline for Cafe Thrive and weren’t disappointed! We ordered a combination of The ‘Meaty’ Burger, ‘Chicken’ Combo box (fried, KFC style seitan, fries and coleslaw), garlic bread, Oreo milkshake, beetroot latte and houmous (to takeaway for an evening meal on the go with the remnants of lunch). Everything we had was made super quick and was very tasty

Incredible Vegan Fast food - Edit
We went on a trip just to try this place and weren't disappointed. Amazing vegan versions of traditional fast food favourites, as well as plenty of healthier options too.
Read moreThe cakes were also very good!
We enjoyed it so much we had a take away dinner from Thrive the day after dropping in for lunch, just so we could try more before we left town.
Pros: 100% Vegan, Family friendly
Cons: Not much seating; we waited 1/2 hour for a table.

Changed serving caught me out - Edit
I visit Thrive in Bournemouth and sometimes Soithampton fairly regularly as they are a great cafe with good food at a fair price. I visited Southampton today for work and ordered a regular favourite, the chicken style burger. Onion rings were asked for but missed (I wasn’t charged so not a real issue). My surprise was the lack of anything green on the plate as I am used to a small salad with the burger. It is now an extra order of side salad. The chips are now in a small basket and so the serving size has reduced quite a lot. Don’t get me wrong, the servings a while back were big and I used to leave very full. All things change, Thrive has too. It won’t stop me going to Thrive but the lack of any green on a plate at a plant based cafe seems wrong?

Visited today, first time since being able to sit back inside. I’ve always loved Thrive.
The garlic chips were not a success today. Not only could I not detect the garlic but they were sat in a sea of oil. Took them back and was told they were using different garlic now? Was offered extra drinks which is fine. Everyone has an off day but this was not pleasant. I’ll try it again next time I’m local, so long as it doesn’t happen again then fine. If it does then standards are clearly dropping.

Amazing! - Edit
Fantastic food. I look for any excuse to go to Cafe Thrive. We've found the portions to be quite big, so you usually get quite a lot for your money. It's also impressive how quickly the food is prepared when ordering a delivery during the pandemic. Whether you're in the mood for some incredibly indulgent junk food or something light and healthy, Thrive has got your back!

Holds a place in my heart - Edit
This is the best place for vegan food in Southampton, all my non vegan friends love it. Has so many things to choose from not to mention their specials every week which I can't to have again. Ever since quarantine started they released things like frozen meals and care packages and they're finally on deliveroo. Their doughnuts are a must try and will make your day.

Best vegan cafe in Southampton - Edit
Varied menu of burgers, sandwiches, salads and more. Food is decent and far from trashy vegan fast food. They have a counter of fresh bakes and I always want to try everything. Food is available to eat in or takeaway - it is located opposite a nice park in Southampton city centre.
Read morePlenty of seating - they have tables both downstairs and upstairs. Also have a mini vegan shop for bits and bobs you might not find in a normal supermarket eg. vegan marshmallows.

A Fantastic Vegan Cafe - Edit
The food we had at Cafe Thrive was fantastic. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The service was quick. The restaurant was clean. I wish this place existed when I lived in Southampton whilst at University.

My only criticism of our meal was that the Reuben Sandwich would have better if I had the option to have rye bread

I would be a regular if I lived here! - Edit
I ate here four times during my week-long stay in Southampton. The menu is great - it includes milkshakes and smoothies, salad bowls, sandwiches, breakfast until 11:30, burgers, desserts and other treats. Has cold drinks, including local craft beers from Unity Brewing. Additional tables are upstairs. It opens at 8:30 six days a week and 10:00 on Sunday (so much better than a nearby vegan spot, which opens only at 12 noon and is closed two days/week). It was a busy place at 4:15 pm on a Saturday, but I received quick and pleasant service, as always. On my first visit, I had the Wholefood Burger (lentils, mushrooms, quinoa, herbs) and crispy sweet-potato fries. Another time, a warmed cookie with ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce. I took away a Red Velvet cupcake and chocolate-brownie fingers, both excellent. Next lunchtime, I ordered the Sweet-Root Salad Bowl, which was very, very good, and a side of onion rings. I had to return the following day, because I had noticed the Pancake Week menu! I had the bacon-and-eggs pancakes, which was very satisfying, with delicious seitan-bacon. I would certainly be a regular if I lived here.
