Zeer lekker plant based eten! - Edit
Heerlijke lunch! De avocado feta toast met pistachenoten en granaatappelpitjes was echt een topper. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Het is zeer vullend. Je gaat er zeker niet met honger naar buiten! De tomatensoep was ook lekker, precies zoals je deze verwacht. En een kombucha drankje met passievrucht en jasmijn om het af te maken.

We hebben hier heerlijk geluncht. Ik had de "Zoervleisj", dit smaakte zo lekker en mijn vriend zei dat het net zoals zuurvlees smaakt. Bitterballen waren lekker. De rest vond hun lunch ook lekker. Heerlijke kersen vlaai die net smaakt als de "orginele".

Een gezellig terrasje met een vriendelijke sfeer. Ideaal om tijdens een fietstocht even te lunchen of een stuk vlaai te eten. Als fietser kan je dan ook gratis je bidon vullen aan een kraantje.

Fantastic vegan gem - Edit
It was quite unexpected to find a vegan lunch restaurant in such a small village in the South of the Netherlands. But what a surprise! The menu is very rich with lots of different options and variations from healthy junk food to real healthy food. We ate the bitterballen en mixed dishes and finished with the most amazing oreo cake. The people are super friendly which makes all the difference of course. Breakaway is also a great starting point for hikes in the stunning area. What a treat! We will certainly be back

Limburgse vlaai maar dan vegan. Keuze uit meerdere smaken. Mijn niet-vegan tafelgenoot proefde geen verschil met andere vlaai. Ook leuk dat alles gewoon vegan is.

Heerlijk geluncht en genoten van het heerlijke plekje. We hadden beide de grilled veggies. Helaas hebben we niet veel Vegan tentjes in Limburg. Maar dit is echt een mooie aanwinst. Heel lekkere lunch en heel vriendelijk personeel. Wij komen binnenkort zeker terug om meer van de kaart te proeven.

Heerlijk gegeten, fijne wandelroutes - Edit
We houden van wandelen en vanaf de parkeerplaats vlakbij starten een paar mooie rondjes (https://break-away.cc/wandelroutes/). Daarna hebben we hier heerlijk op het terras gezeten en genoten van een latte macchiato en warme chocolademelk met slagroom. En om het nog beter te maken namen we er een Van alles get-plankje (met fantastisch brood!), bitterballen van Zwamburg en lekker smeuïge pecantaart bij. Het was heerlijk en de porties waren prima.

Hi thanks for your feedback. I can agree with you on that haha. We dont have a concept that is a culinair high end restaurant with that kind of exciting flavors. Our concept is just fresh and also typical limburgian lunch dishes (‘zoervleisj’/bitterballen) sandwiches soups and bites. And barista coffee and tasty cakes. But its just normal comfort food that everybody allready knows, made vegan. To show that people could just easily veganize their regular comfort foods and that it is just as tasty. Ordered “loaded” nachos, but they ran out of jackfruit, it was just nachos with little bit of vegan cheese and few cherry tomatoes and red onion for 14 euros. Guacamole and salsa was supposed to be fresh as said on menu, but came out of a jar/plastic container. Could be better if made fresh. Coffee was good though. Staff is friendly. Overall, has potential but not there yet although should be commended for opening plant based restaurant in this area. If food would be better people would come from far away, atm it’s not there yet but it has potential

Read moreI understand that you had an experience that was a bit disappointing. After big local media attention for our restaurant this weekend, we did not know what happened to us. As we had the most busy days ever since we've opened.
Of course we are super happy that there is so much attention for a vegan restaurant and that so many people came to enjoy and get to know vegan food.
Unfortunately that resulted that we ran out of some ingredients at the end of the day, even though we already purchased more that usually. From now on we definitely will keep more stock so we don't run out of ingredients😉
I asked my staff to inform people that we unfortunately don't have jackfruit any more, but I don't know if that has happend with you. If not, I am sorry for the miscommunication.
Usually our ''loaded'' nacho's are really very much loaded with all kinds of fresh ingredients, as you might now jackfruit and vegan cheese is a bit more expensive that non vegan alternatives. We try to keep a balance for a fair price, but also one that justify's our existence. I hope you understand.

Visited Breakaway while visiting my parents in Zuid Limburg. After a walk in the ‘Savelsbos’ we had a coffee and a piece of cake at Breakaway. A young and enthusiastic lady is in charge of the restaurant. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.
