Great place - Edit
This is their flagship restaurant. It has the same great food as their other places, but much bigger and more comfortable setting. A top-notch place, close to Madison Square Garden and Times Square.

Really great options! - Edit
We tried sushi, dumplings and curry! Really good dumplings and everything had lots of flavour. Good place for a sit down dinner as it’s larger than the other stores

Good Sushi, skip other dishes - Edit
Bit disappointed on their “main” dishes. The average price is $22 and are just ok. Their best sushi in my opinion is the mango spicy and I was not super impressed but was good. I consider this place overrated but good option for vegan sushi in NY. Just stay out of their “mains”. Don’t expect friendly service, their staff is mostly busy and inattentive. I asked for the Wi Fi password and they surprisingly didn’t know it.

I don't have to give up my love of sushi - Edit
So happy to have discovered Beyond Sushi through Happy Cow. It's a lunchtime favorite for me now. I love sushi and dumplings, and now I don't have to miss it anymore. It's such a relief to find a place to eat and not worry about the menu and which items are vegan.

Really beautiful interior, great service and precious treasure for midtown - Edit
All of the Beyond Sushi locations have really delicious vegan sushi - especially the Green Machine and the specials are always creative, flavorful and ocean friendly. The August special with jackfruit, barbecue sauce and crunchy black olives was a memorable treat. The asparagus curry soup is really delicious and I’m not sure if it’s available at all locations. Truly a stylish vegan treasure for midtown garments district. I wish they had reusable chopsticks instead of the disposable wooden chopsticks - bu t you can bring yo own and enjoy.

Great food, quick service - Edit
I stopped here after a recommendation from a friend and luckily there was one RIGHT near my hotel! Our courses came out super quick and I was so impressed with the bold flavors of our dumplings (Smokey Tom and Fun-guy) and portobello carpaccio. We even got a complimentary two bite app that was a nice surprise. My mom got a green machine roll and I got the chickpea and sunny side rolls. I loved the sunny side and enjoyed the other two, just not as much. Not crazy expensive and totally worth a trip!

Amazing food - Edit
This place is larger than the others and has table service with many seats available. The sushis are incredible and the service is very fast, the menu has photos so you can see what you will get. It helps in choosing what to orer. The flavor was amazing and the place very nice. Is there Wi-Fi.

Creative, fun sushi - Edit
The restaurant is big with lots of seating. You don't feel rushed even though the orders come pretty quickly. Service is friendly and the sushi creative. We had jackfruit dumplings with two sauces and crispy panko. The sauces and toppings make everything taste good!

Good food, bad service - Edit
The sushis are delicious and flavorful. A huge change from the common vegan sushi from anywhere. Mine had black rice, sun dried tomatoes, topped with butternut squash and pesto. The dumplings are also yummy.
Read moreService is slow and not great. They forgot my water, brought my check before I even got my main meal, and then forgot to bring the check all together. So the food is great, but you gotta be patient.

ok, but wouldn’t go again. - Edit
I loved their miso soup, but I was disappointed with the sushi. I recommend Korea town food court for better sushi and Asian food, although it’s not officially vegan, they have a few key delicious options if you are willing to hustle and look for it.

The best vegan sushi anywhere - Edit
There are six branches in NYC, we visited the one on 37th Street which is a few minutes walk from Macy's and the Empire State Building. This particular branch is a proper sit-down restaurant, some of the others are more informal, eat-standing-up or take-out places.
Read moreThey describe themselves as "vegan and vegetarian sushi" but as you'll see from the menu, it's pretty much entirely vegan.
Incidentally if you make your own sushi at home, get ready for a whole world of fantastic new ideas and flavour combinations. This is among the best food I've eaten in New York or anywhere else for that matter.
Pros: the best sushi you'll ever eat
Cons: bit expensive, but this is New York

Great Experience, Great Food - Edit
I visited the 14th St location and has awesome dumplings, rolls, and soup!! The Green Machine and Spicy Mang rolls were amazing. I had a large bowl of the White Miso Noodle Soup with glass noodles and I absolutely loved it!! Nice and spicy. Definitely a must try if you like sushi and fun and creative food!!

great quick meal - Edit
I loved beyond sushi when I went. The sushi was great, I wasn’t disappointed at all. I think it’s all raw from what I remember so that’s awesome. The homemade sauces are also great. Some rolls were definitely better than others and could use more flavor or maybe more crunch. One roll definitely wouldn’t fill us up so we ended up ordering a lot and that added up. Great place though with good food.

Incredible food, slow service - Edit
It took a while to be acknowledged when we walked in, to have someone come to our table after being seated AND to get our check. Annoying. BUT the food is insanely good. From our dumplings to the shared cauliflower plate to the sushi rolls we ordered, everything was beyond expectation. So...I would definitely go back, but knowing the service is rough.

If I lived in NY I would have to come here every day. It’s not just lettuce and cucumbers like other veg options for sushi, the flavor of everything is mind-blowing. The service is also fantastic.

Turning non-vegan food into its vegan substitution can somehow feel a little farfetched or bland, but Beyond Sushi really hits the mark.
Read moreThe dishes are super fresh, tasty and well-presented. And the mix of ingredients is really well-thought and balanced.
The staff is friendly & efficient.
The space itself is large and not too noisy.

To be highly recommended!

Beyond Sushi is a chain of casual vegan sushi restaurants around NYC. We went to the Herald Square location, which had a spacious interior, inviting decor, and friendly staff.
Read moreWe ordered the chili mushroom noodle soup, two sushi samplers, and the fun-guy dumplings. All of the dishes were bright, colorful, and delicious. We really enjoyed our meal, and it was even better because Beyond Sushi offered a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere - a welcome respite from the madness of midtown Manhattan.
We're looking forward to our next visit to NYC, when we can try some more of Beyond Sushi's many offerings.
Pros: Bright, colorful dishes, Variety of tasty offerings, Spacious, relaxing

I love their sushi, especially the one with mango. It is great to have options besides a cucumber and avocado roll! I will say I got the coconut soup as part of a deal and it was not very good. But the sushi is amazing!

If you like sushis and Asian food, you'll have to stop here. I had a very good and spicy mushroom soup, a chocolate cake and was completely full. The food is good and fresh, the restaurant is very clean and pleasant, and the staff is friendly. Prices are on the average of NYC. I have to come back to try the sushis!
