I visited the 14th St location and has awesome dumplings, rolls, and soup!! The Green Machine and Spicy Mang rolls were amazing. I had a large bowl of the White Miso Noodle Soup with glass noodles and I absolutely loved it!! Nice and spicy. Definitely a must try if you like sushi and fun and creative food!!

I loved beyond sushi when I went. The sushi was great, I wasn’t disappointed at all. I think it’s all raw from what I remember so that’s awesome. The homemade sauces are also great. Some rolls were definitely better than others and could use more flavor or maybe more crunch. One roll definitely wouldn’t fill us up so we ended up ordering a lot and that added up. Great place though with good food.

It took a while to be acknowledged when we walked in, to have someone come to our table after being seated AND to get our check. Annoying. BUT the food is insanely good. From our dumplings to the shared cauliflower plate to the sushi rolls we ordered, everything was beyond expectation. So...I would definitely go back, but knowing the service is rough.

The staff is friendly & efficient.
The space itself is large and not too noisy.
The lunch deal is really great ($10-11 for a 2-course meal).

Beyond Sushi is a chain of casual vegan sushi restaurants around NYC. We went to the Herald Square location, which had a spacious interior, inviting decor, and friendly staff.
Read moreWe ordered the chili mushroom noodle soup, two sushi samplers, and the fun-guy dumplings. All of the dishes were bright, colorful, and delicious. We really enjoyed our meal, and it was even better because Beyond Sushi offered a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere - a welcome respite from the madness of midtown Manhattan.
We're looking forward to our next visit to NYC, when we can try some more of Beyond Sushi's many offerings.

I love their sushi, especially the one with mango. It is great to have options besides a cucumber and avocado roll! I will say I got the coconut soup as part of a deal and it was not very good. But the sushi is amazing!

If you like sushis and Asian food, you'll have to stop here. I had a very good and spicy mushroom soup, a chocolate cake and was completely full. The food is good and fresh, the restaurant is very clean and pleasant, and the staff is friendly. Prices are on the average of NYC. I have to come back to try the sushis!

I could live forever in this restaurant. I was here a month ago and simply jumped from location to location. I had the summer special dumplings (twice in 3 days) I had the Mushroom roll and then ate there again with a friend and tried a bunch of other stuff that I don't remember because I was too happy to care! I love this place. I do try to take some of the sauces off as my guess is they are pretty fatty, but they are soooooo good. This location is a restaurant other locations have strictly take out or stand and shove it in high chairs at counters.

What an awesome meal and so quick and efficient to. Lovely place. We had the dumplings I had the jack fruit and hubby had the badge and they were awesome, at this point we were thinking of just having more dumplings. But we decided to try something else and we had the salads. I had the seasonal jackfruit rice bed salad and hubby had the limelight. Both extremely tasty and the food was lovely and fresh. Sad we only came here at the end of our holiday as I think I may have just worked my way through their menu.

In New York on a work conference, Happy Cow once again my saviour! Came across this place and seriously I can't fault a thing about the place. I had seasonal dumplings (jackfruit) they were insanely good! Followed by coconut curry noodle soup I can't fault this place enjoyed it thoroughly and cannot wait for my next trip to NY to go here again! Went with non vegan friend she also enjoyed the food!

I have been a fan of Beyond Sushi for years and now they have added a large restaurant to their empire. The Herald Square location is spacious and inviting; it also includes a bar area, presumably for an after-work crowd. The food is top notch and highly creative. The staff were attentive, well-informed and upbeat. Our waitress was particularly helpful with identifying gluten-free options (yes, they have gluten free tamari on request).

My advice is head there now before the crowds head back to Manhattan after Labor Day!

Seasonal dumplings with a little kick very nice.
Chili mushroom soup with braised shitake, portabella, enocki mushroom, baby spinach, roasted garlic and hijiki. With green tea soba noodle infused with Japanese matcha.
Spicy mango sushi, black rice, avocado, mango and English cucumber topped with spicy veggies served with roasted cayenne.
I must say my expectation were low. But the results were very very good.
Nice clean well prepared vegan food. You could tell many other diners were not vegans....just enjoying nice tastes and differet foods. They were in for a nice treat.

Beyond Sushi has always had great fresh food. At the new Herald Square location, there is now a full restaurant vibe with many tables, smart decor and great service. The food is creative, beautiful. Healthy and delicious. We'll be back.
