I expected a traditional Italian place with limited options, but it was mostly vegan, only a small selection with meat options.

Nice traditional pasties done well vegan. They also offer larger dishes like pasta and salads. They also sell tofu and other things to take away to cook at home.
Friendly staff.

This place was a gem. Everything in the vitrines was vegan. They have vegan sweets, including cornetti, cannoli, and panettone, but they also had a ton of savory options like arancini, pizza by the slice and several local variations of calzones. Everything was really affordable and the service was excellent. Apparently they have a non-vegan lunch menu as well as a vegan one, but as I said, everything on display in their cases was vegan. The best vegan options we found in Catania.

Best vegan pastry - Edit
It is weird that Happy Cow does not allow to give 5 stars to this caffe, as it does really good for veganism. Dolcezza is 10/10! Their pastries, cakes, and ice cream are all vegan. Our favorite were simple croissants and biscuits. Little cakes were delicious as well.

I have tasted vegan croissants there and this is devine. I liked the plain one most of all, but only because there is so much chocolate ganache or vanilla cream filling in another ones. This is just… you can eat them endlessly

This place is an absolute gem and a must visit if you’re in Catania, whether you’re vegan or otherwise. Offers some of the most delicious pastries and desserts I’ve had in my life at prices so low I felt like I was robbing the place when I got the check. Would’ve given it 5 stars but HappyCow doesn’t allow it sadly.

Such a nice selection of vegan goodies, the pistachio ice cream was to die for, as well as the Oreo mini-cake. So delicious! And the service was very nice, with very friendly staff. A bit sad that they're no longer serve only vegan food.

What a gem in Catania!!! It is mostly vegan, but also offers a “regular” menu. All the pastries, pizzas, etc in the display are vegan. The cannolo was fantastic and also loved the savory pastry. I wanted to try everything!!! They even have oat milk which seems unheard of in most of Italy. You must visit!

Vegan versions of Italian dishes - Edit
This place was fabulous for vegan versions of typical Italian food - I got a vegan cheese, tomato and onion pastry, tiramisu and chocolate cannoli. Super cheap too! We were initially excited for the lunch menu but we got there too late, but if I’m ever back in Catania I will definitely be getting the carbonara.

When we visited it was still marked on happy cow as a vegan restaurant, and understandably so as basically everything is vegan. They do have some lunch options that include meat unfortunately, perhaps to appeal to a broader audience. But for vegans in Catania this remains the best place to eat at as basically everything is properly vegan, including lots of desserts and a bunch of traditional sicilician dishes. We went about half a dozen times in as many days and would definitely recommend!

I saw this bar in a Youtube video and it became my main goal during my trip to Sicily to eat here 😅. And it did not dissapoint!! It was so good, so delicious 🤤. We had different pizzettes (we also took to go for diner haha), a croissant with chocolate pudding filling, cappuccino with oatmilk, canolo with chocolate, a bara and the tiramisu. I also took away some cookies and vegan biscotti to keep the experience going 😋😍🤩.

Went for breakfast and went back 90 minutes later for lunch 😁 Everything in the fridges is vegan. They have about 5 different vegan milks. Their lunchtime menu is split in two, the one on the left is vegan, on the right is not. It's a pity we are so far from the venue as I would eat there all the time 😋

I hadn’t traveled to Sicily since going vegan, so I feared missing out on all the goodies. However, Bar Dolcezza has an extensive vegan menu with all the traditional Italian dolci/dishes. The babà & pizza were my favorite. Highly recommend going here if you get the chance✨

I went here for breakfast and got a delicious chocolate croissant. Brought my non-vegan friend for lunch and made the mistake of getting carbonara. It was super oily and not very flavorful. Felt bad to give that impression of vegan lunch to her 😬
