What an amazing suprise! It’s a coffee place but also with regular dinner options! I had Coffee with soy milk and two desserts - tiramisu and one with pistachios. Also took some croissants and pastries to go. Sweet vegan heaven!! Everything (sweets and pastries) is vegan. Service was really nice. Would definetly visit again.

Alles Vegan hier, leider sind die Eis Sorten sehr künstlich, irgendwie schleimig und viel zu süß. Auch nach 20 Minuten schmilzt das Eis gar nicht, das macht keinen "natürlichen" Eindruck. Nachtische sind sehr hübsch aber leider auch Zucker pur.

Best place in Catania - Edit
It is 90% vegan now (and so is the owner). You can find all the sicilian (and non-sicilian) specialities, both sweet and savory and ice cream. It also offers lunch and has a little vegan shop. Quality is super good and the staff is friendly. Highly recommended.

If I could, I would give this bar/tavola calda 5*. We have stopped by here on many occasions; whether it be to pick up a vegan panettone for Christmas or a vegan cake for someone birthday - their products are really high quality.

Such a good place, but away from the city Center but so worth the way. Would love to go there again. Sadly the sweets were so filling that we couldn’t try the lunch menu but had a few things for takeaway to eat on the next day. Fabulous food! Go there! Really! Go there!😄 and try the Settevé!😄

An Obligatory Stop While in Catania - Edit
You're vegan, you like desserts and you're in Catania-- you have to stop by here, at least once. Vegans don't always get a true taste of traditional foods while travelling but places like Bar Dolcezza is perfect for a chance to eat traditional Sicilian foods, especially desserts.

Read moreIn addition to their large selection of typical Sicilian sweets and pastry, they offer a lunch menu between 12.30 and 14.30. They hade several pasta (primi piati) and "vegan meat" platters (secundi piato) to choose from. As a primi we shared a pasta pistachio, which was very creamy and delicious. As secundi we took a mixed platter, which was just a plate of sliced tofu, seitan and tempeh, this was ok but not very special. We ended with their great canoli as a dessert.
Later we came back to buy some sweet and hearty pastries and a typicial Sicilian cookie as packed lunch for our Etna hike the day after. The diverse pastries were filled with pistachio and cream and others with mixed veggies. This place should not be missed to try the vegan (and maybe slightly healthier? ;-)) version of Sicilian street food and lunch.
You can also buy a limited selection of vegan items such as seitan and tofu, whole grain pasta to recreate their delicious meals at home.
Cons: Some non-labelled stuff is also vegan!

Cannoli, tiramisù, biscotti, cornetti... all items you would find in a traditional pasticceria but vegan! Multiple non-dairy milks for coffee. An absolute must! Highly recommend.
